  1. Have you swapped your FFB axes? The FFB forces are, by default, off by 90 degrees in DCS with the FFB2. Swapping the axes rights it. I had all kinds of wonk going on until I learned this, and since then FFB has been right as rain, and IIRC I get decent force responses in all aircraft that support it.
  2. The Spit can probably come sooner than you might have expected because of commonality with the P-51D. The Spit IX uses the Merlin engine, IIRC. That, and the flight model, are probably the two most complicated parts in a DCS WWII bird. Having the engine model almost done is huge.
  3. It records from the time you joined, but doesn't actually start the replay until you unpause. Does anyone know how to allow external cams, though?
  4. The Ka-50 is a fantastic module. I strongly recommend it. It is fast and agile, yet controllable. It has amazingly advanced weapons and countermeasures systems, and an autopilot so competent that a single pilot can operate the whole heap all at once. All of its systems and electronics are modeled in intricate detail, and it really is a joy to just fly around and play with the ABRIS Nav system. You can have a great time in that helicopter without firing a shot... so just imagine how much fun it is in combat. It's also a capable CAS platform in multiplayer missions. I really can't recommend the Shark enough. If you do buy the Ka-50, be sure to pick BigFootMSR's interactive tutorials. They replace the old, crappy video tutorials with fully interactive DCS quality tutorials that cover just about every important aspect of flying the Ka-50. 5. Hard to compare... completely different sims. A-10C is a full-blown study sim like the UH-1H model, with full systems modeling and a fully operational cockpit. The aircraft in FC3 are not modeled to nearly that level of detail, and most do not yet have the advanced flight model (though that should be coming to the Su-27 and F-15C soon). Also, most aircraft do not yet have the nicely modeled 6-degrees-of-freedom non-clickable cockpit. It's an amazingly good sim, but it's a survey sim. If you want to stick with A2G, I'd go for A-10C. If you want to explore A2A or mess with the older A2G aircraft, then FC3 is the way to go. Both are great options. The one I'm really eager for right now, though, is the F-86F module... and the MiG-21bis if that one comes through. I don't know much about the A-10A's weapon capabilities.
  6. Woohoo! I can finally pull DCS back off the shelf.
