  1. Remember when over clocking, you will only get 1FPS per 100mhz on average, so if you have a E8400 I would say you could probbaly go to 4-4.5gig water cooled which will maybe give you an extra 15FPS so way up the costs before taking the jump.
  2. Hi Every now and then when playing black shark thye sound will start to crackle and slowly get worse finaly losing all sound completely. I am using an XFi Creative card. Has anyone had this problem and anyone know of a fix? Thanks
  3. New Triggers for ME This post is intended for people to add their ideas for new triggers that could be implemented into the ME in the future. Please try to keep them as feasible as possible. :thumbup: Triggers 1) Choice of Red or Blue Coalition Unit In Zone activates trigger. 2) Radio Calls x 5 options (Alpha/Bravo/Charlie/Delta/Echo) Activates Radio Trigger during the mission. Can be used from the flight comms options and is used to activate any trigger placed on the map. Great for AFAC missions if you wanted to call in scripted support artillery or a pin point air strike and can be used for so many simple trigger scripts. 3) The option to change the trigger zone shape. At the moment its only a circle. How about adding an oblong that the width, length, horizontal and vertical parameters can be adjusted to create defining front line engagement triggers. 4) Unit/Group Hold trigger. When units Air/Land activate the trigger they will hold position at a certain WP until given further orders by say a radio trigger above that deactivates the Hold Trigger. 5) This one may not be possible but its worth a thought. The option to set a trigger in the Add WP command which would be specific to that unit only. This would allow for a unit or units with the trigger set in their WP to separate from a group and do their own thing. Hope those few will get something started here.:D

Hi Sobek, unfortunately this is still not really an option as each mission you fly does not carry the true results over to the next mission of everything that has just taken place along your route of battle so in no way is it dynamic but more a scripted story line. My point here is when you have spent 20 minutes getting setup online, get all the pilots into the server, dust off and fly 30 minutes into the mission and then the host experiences problems (Track IR stops working which is common)) then you have in theory wasted 50 minutes and have to start all over again. Being able to SAVE the mission in progress when you reach a certain mile stone of importance would also create that seamless feeling of combat along the missions story line where everything you have accomplished along your route is still there in real time. A lot of the big missions we build have a dynamic rolling action to them with many many triggers that decide the next outcome depending on the achievements made. Your ability to make calculated decisions on what would be the best course of action during that engagement will decide what trigger goes off next.
  6. The frustration is felt by all with the ME. ALthough its one of the best flight SIM ME ever made with great flexability there are several small things that could make it outstanding and second to non. Lets be honest the ME and the mission builders out there keep the online community rotoring around online each night flying something new and exciting.
  7. Very true indeed apart the from the comment about HAWX which I wont even bother commenting on. However what is frustrating is having to spend hours looking for a possible bug fix or a comment from the Developers addressing the bug or future game enhancement suggestion or giving some kind of hint if it will ever be addressed. Hence my earlier suggestion of a sticky post where peoples comments or complaints what ever they may be can be selected if worth while and listed and have a small comment (From the DCS TEAM ONLY) on if they are being addressed or not. For every post that comes from someone in the know there are 50 posts from people who think they know. Yes the SIM is very complex and will never be 100% and what has been accomplished so far is out standing and I for one dont take it for granted but what would be nice is a post thats only got useful information in as we dont all have 23 hours a day to browse the DCS forum.
  8. Save Mission What would be the chances of implimenting a save mission option into the game. We build very complex and dynamic missions that go way beyong a turkey shoot and can take upto 4 hours to complete all the stages. It would be nice to be able to reach a point in the mission where we can save the progress so when we restart the mission we are not right back at the beginning. This is so needed for so many reasons. Not having to restart after the server crashes. Not having to dedicate 4 hours to a mission to finish it. Being able to take time out to beat the kids when they are creating merry hell and the wife wants you to take them out of the house. Being able to build even more longer and more dynamic battles. Being able to refresh the PC,s playing the mission and the server after so many hours with a full reboot. Where should the SAVE option take place? I would suggest that as long as all the player helos are parked at a FARP or a Airport the SAVE mission can be implimented. All saved missions should be sent to a saved file folder and should be numbered in sequence automatically or at least given a date and time of save for identification purposes.

Would it be possible to have a Sticky with just the info about the patch from the DEVELOPERS on it and not the insistent waffle in between every post from people who obviously have nothing better to do. I have noted the patch changes but still fail to see anything addressing the RADAR guided SAM issues we face. Locking you up through back ground clutter, shooting through objects and just plain unrealistic reaction times and detection parameters. If we want to talk realistic then this needs serious attention. It was porked in Lockon and is still porked in BS. If it cant be fixed then for heavens sake please give us some kind of RWR unit we can select to bring up on screen (e.g. The Trim Monitor Ctrl-Enter gizmo) to show what direction the lock is coming from as well as implementing the chaff dispenser so at least we have a chance to spoof them. Another issue is the choice of triggers to implement into the patch. Seriously guys think a bit harder about this one. Take some notes from a game like Operation Flashpoint. - TEXT TO COALITION - TEXT TO COUNTRY - SOUND TO COALITION - SOUND TO COUNTRY - DEACTIVATE GROUP (this action will remove the group from the game world permanently. It will not be possible to re-active the group). - END MISSION (force mission end when the trigger rules are true) - SET FAILURE (set helicopter system failure with time and probability) - SET EXPLOSION (use a trigger zone to set the location of the explosion and set the altitude and power of the explosion in the trigger action settings) - EXPLODE UNIT (select unit to explode and power of explosion) - SMOKE MARKER (use a trigger zone to set the location of the marker and set the altitude of initiation in the trigger action settings) - ILLUMINATION FLARE (use a trigger zone to set the location of the flare and set the altitude of initiation in the trigger action settings. Note, the flare burns for 120 seconds, falling approximately 1000 meters in that time.) - SIGNAL FLARE (use a trigger zone to set the location of the flare and set the altitude of initiation and flare color in the trigger action settings) The only ones worth it above are DEACTIVATE GROUP FLARE and SMOKE Markers. Are these new triggers or just ones that got left out from the first release??????????? As a serious mission builder it takes me 10 times longer to build a decent mission through the limited at best triggers we have to choose from because of all the work a rounds we have to do to get things to go in any sort of sequence. Here is one that would save me hours. I have a list as long as my arm if you want more. RED or BLUE coalition in ZONE (Will active Groups/Messages or Actions) Depending on the coalition the Trigger Zone is set to when any of those coalition units enters that zone it activates the trigger. Last but not least PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put the bloody satellite map back so we can verify the placement of units on the map. If this is not possible then come up with some kind of mission viewer so we don’t have to go into a mission 300 times during the build.
  10. As we all know the rockets in BS are so weak that your lucky if you could kill a swarm of mosquitos with a direct hit. Has anyone found a way to increase the blast radius to something equivelent of say 2 megaton just to get things cooking a little. I know the patch talks about this and they say they will address this but it would be nice to tweak your self.
  11. Hey Evader, Thanks for the reply. I will forward this onto my buddy who has the Cougar. I my self still use my SWF22/TQS Thrustmaster with the digital upgrades and it works perfectly as it always has but of course I use Saitek Pedels as a helo SIM is not the same without them. Cheers
  12. Does anyone have a Cougar HOTAS and have they set up the rudders on the Antena Rotary Dial. My buddy does not have any Rudder Pedels and we were wondering if someone knew what we would have to do to get this maped in Foxy.
  13. Every now and then the Weapon Systems will not operate and I cannot get the ATGM's to fire. Master Arm is On/ Laser is on/Pylons are selected/ Target is Acquired/Turn to target and GMT are on and the targeting reticules are over each other. If I switch the system to manual it fires but then the ATGM's just fall to the ground short as if they were not guided or armed. And no I am not too close or to far from the TGT usually around 3-4000 yards This happens very irregular but when it does man my blood boils.. :crash: IS THIS A BUG
  14. Can anyone comment on what is the main cause for Blade Strike on the twin rotor KA50. I don’t seem to be able to pin point it to one single mistake I am making that causes this happen at the most inconvenient times.:helpsmilie:

Im sure this is addressed somewhere else but just a quick yes or no answer on if the DCS team will be addressing the ability to use ground clutter as defense against RAD Guided SAMS and will we see trees become a real world object that cant be fired through. All in the first patch of course.:D
  16. Thats what I thought. Thanks for the clarification. I will cease to use Radar Guided/Tracking systems in all future missions me and the team build as they are a little too good to be realistic. GGTharos-yes the Flare deployment and evasion from IR guided systems in BS combat is done very well indeed. An no those are not TOW launches coming at me they are HAWK and Rapier because I built the missions :-)
  17. The Weapon Load out Screen shows the option to load chaff/flare combinations however I dont seem to be able to get chaff pumping when in game. Does this actually work or is it a GUI implimentation for future SIMS. Unfortunately under its current state we cant use ground clutter to mask from radar guided SAMS and more than often in the missions I get to play I will pop up on a ridge only to see a vapor trail come tearing up at me out of a valley and I think the old chaff might just save the day on some of those occasions. :pilotfly:

My memory is corsair 2GIG each stick which run at 1066mhz (To be honest with you I have not a clue what thats means and as for Oclocking, well hopefully I can get a mate to do it for me because to date Im sure im the only twat in existance who has managed to underclock my CPU the last time I fiddled with it. At least I never had heat issues...
  19. As for the the old comment on getting similar performance in BS as you were getting in FC well thats not quite true. I get double FPS in FC over what I get in BS.
  20. Thanks Groove for quick definate response. I hate those posts that waffle on about this and that and in the end anever commit to a sigle straight forward answer. Would BS take advantage of Quad Core Processors? Would I get more performance from say a Q9650 or Q9770 or again better of running a E8500 @ 4.2-3 gig
  21. Would anyone like to comment on what would give me the biggest frame rate boost in BS. Oclock CPU- from 3.16 - 4.2 Gig OR Buy another Gforce 280 Ultra to run in SLI Current system Intel E8500 - XFX 790i Mobo - 4 Gig Corsair Ram - 1 XFX 280 (1 gig GPU) I either Spend the money on a new GPU or spend the money on a proper cooling system to OC the Proc.... Current Frames on BS average around 45FPS but every now and then it drops to teens briefly. If I turn down distance view in the settings the FPS jumps up to 55 average. I dont have heat blur on and water is set to medium.
  22. BTW can the current airdefence (Optical Tracking & laser Range Finding) systems in BS see through Smoke like they do through trees? If we were to call in a smoke barrage on an airfield that was protected by MBT and AAA units that used laser and optical tracking could one move position under the cover of smoke to get a better target aqusition?
  23. The trigger system I know is being worked on and I am sure we will see many new triggers coming out as time goes by. One trigger if I may refer to another game that was very handy was the radio call trigger in Operation Flash Point. This trigger is very useful for calling in support such as ARTY Smoke/fire on a specific area especially if it could be mapped in to the F10 Map mode or can be used by desinating the target area with the Ka 50 Lazer and using the radio command feature to call in the required support. Does anyone have any info on if this has been considered. Cheers
