  1. Is it McCarren or McCarran?
  2. I've been testing this out with 2.0 and WWII planes. The AI take off from correct airports (when set to take off). GCI is a hit or miss. I'm using EWR, once in a while I will get a spawned GCI plane. I notice I had to make my CAP zone larger 60,000 or more. Smaller CAP zones and the planes will fly off and form circle on the south side of the map, causing more CAP to spawn due to them flying out of the CAP zone. I lowered the logistic # to 4 groupsupply When I go multiplayer things get strange. AI for some reason won't engage (most of the times). Take off from airport results in planes facing each other stuck (I playing with lowering the stuck timer), no GCI so far I seen in multiplayer. I will try to keep the test mission up and running on the server. Server name starts with Goosemilk. I will throw CAP test in the title or description. . I really do like the CAP feature, I could live without GCI. I just want spawned in CAP for WWII planes. Thanks for your hard work on this!!!!!
  3. I have the same VPS set-up with NFOServers. Double check your TdrDelay, make sure there is no typos. Also how are you connecting? VNC or RDP? I use TightVNC to connect and/or the VNC via NFOServer console works too.
  4. So far the server been running all day without any issues. I don't have AI on it.
  5. I'm not sure if this helped out or not but I did installed the Desktop Experience features.
  6. So far its good -HiJack jump in made some changes which improve my chances to get to the menu but it will still crash when I attempted to login. -I made regedit change but instead of QWORD (which didn't work for me) I had to use DWORD (32bit). That got me to login menu. -Instead of logging in I exit to make graphic changes: Change everything to lowest settings, made SU-25 default wallpaper (for some reason editing the file directly didn't work). -I then logged into my DCS account, saved account info and set to auto-login. -I restarted DCS 3 times and rebooted the system twice. I fired up DCS and all is good so far. -I tried to fire up a multiplayer server and it crashed with D3D errors. I did not have render3d = false. -Made autoexec.cfg change to options.graphics.render3d = false -restarted DCS, loaded up multiplayer, fired up a mission. Crashed with DX11backend error -I changed TdrDelay to 10 (from 8 ). Rebooted -Fired up DCS, went to multiplayer, loaded a mission and it came up. -Restarted, Fired up DCS, went to multiplayer, loaded a mission and it came up. Now, I don't know if the server actually work for players. It will have to wait till I get home or someone randomly log into it. For some reason commands don't work, like seeing what players are logged in, bringing up the chat/message window. EDIT: all was done via VNC from a Macbook Pro (not sure how important that is but it is here as an FYI)
  7. I found out if the mission is created in 1.2 then ported to 1.5, even when edited in 1.5 afterwards, the server won't show up in the server list. You can connect to the server if you are on the same network only but you can't if they are not on the same network.
  8. What HiJack did allow my system to make it to the menu more often,
  9. That is what I get when I don't get the immediate DX11backend crash. Goes to menu, back to splash, to menu, back to splash and usually stays on splash screen.
  10. I wasn't able to login, DCS would refresh the screen then crash. DX11Backend issue returned. I was able to get back to the DCS login after a DX reinstall from the dist folder, but when I clicked to log in it start going back and forth to splash screen and login screen until I had to finally close it out. Could be something related to the splash/login screen and the way my server is configure from NFOServers. Below seem to only error that is repeated: 00072.471 ERROR DX11BACKEND: Shader "enlight/sun.fx:DIRECTX11=true;" failed to create. This erro is in sslechta logs too
  11. HiJack I sent PM, not sure if it went through.
  12. It is a Virtual Private Server I am renting from NFOServer.com. (I normally use it for ARMA 3, IL-2, and rise of Flight) Not sure what you mean bu visualization software. If you are talking how I access the server normally it is via TightVNC.
  13. Thanks for the follow ups! I was trying with both TightVNC and RDP. I'm going to do a fresh 2012 R2 install.
  14. I have Visual C++ Redistributable 2013 installed. Do you add any Roles or Services via Server Manager?
  15. Thanks for the fast response!! Xen virtual host. (VPS rental from NFOServer) Windows 2012 R2 Quad CPU cores 6144 MB of RAM 400 GB of storage DX11.2 drivers No dedicated video card but it runs DCS 1.2 with no issues, when I set render3D to false. I was thinking of trying Windows 2012 (Non-R2) being that one has DX11.1
  16. I've been looking or solutions to running DCS 1.5 on a Windows 2012 R2 virtual server that is crashing with dx11backend.dll errors. I also tried Windows 2008 but no luck. It seem like one out of 100 tries I get to the menu screen. I can run 1.2 with no problems. I can also run DCS 1.5 from a headless system from my house with no problems (but that system has a Geforce video card). Any particular settings I need/should be aware of when using a Windows 2012 R2 server? I also tried setting everything to lowest settings on the home pc and copy those settings over to the virtual server. I have the following settings in the autoexec.cfg. options.graphics.render3D = false
  17. Seem like a work around for me is to repair windows c++ redistributable using the version that came with the DCS install. Most of the time when I repair the redistributable DCS fires right up but fail a restart. I'm still using the render3d=false settings and settings from a test workstation with graphics set to the lowest settings. But this is still not 100%
  18. Should it be: Render3D = disabled or options.graphics.render3D = false
  19. render3D option seem to be not working in 1.5.
  20. DCS log file has DX11BACKEND: Shader "enlight/sun.fx:DIRECTX11=true;" failed to create The next line it is writing the dump information. Wonder if there is a way to set DIRECTX11=false. Maybe that replaced Render3D I had a back-up of the settings you (HIJACK) suggested and it fired up multiple times when I freshly placed the files in the savedgames/DCS.openbeta. But the game will fail to restart, so I would delete the files bring over the ones from my back directory. It would crash a couple times but most of the time it would come up. And I don't have the autoconfig file in my configs folder yet.
  21. Well, I restarted DCS and it is now back to the crashing.
  22. If you were in the room with me I would shake your hand and kiss your cheek. From what you provided here and in your other thread regarding the default theme, I was able to make it all the way to the menu with out issues. I'm currently running on a headless Windows 2012 virtual server. I used a local test headless server in my computer that have Geforce card so everything work. I created base settings on that machine, zipped it all, sent it to my remote server, made the default menu change, set render3D to false. It is working so far. Thanks!
  23. What file is autologin saved to? I'm running on a Windows 2012 server, 1.2 runs sweet but 1.5 crashes during splash screen due to the dx11backend.dll. Only once was I able to get the login screen then it crashed. Thanks for the information.
