  1. Of course you use brakes during taxiing. But when taking off, you lock the tailwheel and use rudder to keep it straight :)
  2. Yes i agree you with the fact that, the helmet/headphones muffles lot of external noises around the cockpit. But the cannon sounds should still beat the engine noises when firing. Those are extremely loud things in real life. Atleast the internal sounds should be increased. Example Su-27, where the cannon's muzzle is almost in side of the canopy, in that thing i think the pilot really knows when he's firing the gun :D The muzzle blast/flash really beats the side of the canopy...
  3. We need more "violent" and louder sounds for the wepons. Currently they sound weak and low volume in cockpit/external when firing IMO. Example the sound of the 30mm in Su25 now sounds more like a vacuum cleaner than an autocannon.
  4. Same feature for other aircraft cannons too. The smoke could last a bit longer in the sky like a second or two.
  5. Yes if you are using the smallest FoV, but when zooming out it's not so easy to see it anymore and that's where the problem is.
  6. No, complete stock 1.5 open beta install. I really don't see much different with this new spotting ability. Sometimes the plane disappears for a moment even at 800meter distance, if "zooming out" a little , like it did in 1.2.6
  7. My field of view is what you get using full zoom at 1920x1200 in 24inch monitor. Well i dont know the exact value
  8. This is how "ENLARGED"- option shows in my monitor. 24" @ 1920x1200. MiG-29 Head on at about 10km distance, using full "zoom". I think it could be better, but hey its WIP.:pilotfly:
  9. Again, we are talking these smaller rockets s-8 and s-5... In that video they are shooting the bigger caliber rockets like s-25 and s-24. These rockets smoke plumes are indeed realistic in 1.5.
  10. Well that's the only way to get things as real as it gets, plus the 180 degrees of view what human eye has ( or was it little less?)...
  11. Well you can track these small rockets just for half a second, when the propellant is burning and after that they are gone out of your sight's :) Remember we are talking about these smallish unguided rockets (s-8, s-5)
  12. I agree with OP. The new flame and smoke effects for these small unguided rocket's are a bit too "Hollywood". Everything else in 1.5 is just spot on, like the smoke trail's, contrails, flares, etc... I think in 1.2.6, the effects for these rockets were more real like, what we see in the videos. They should make the fire effect little smaller and less visible in bright day light. But otherwise keep up the good work ED!
  13. Is this "model visibility" settings forced by the server or client's to choose? I really hope, that many servers will force this setting. Haven't tried yet the multiplayer.
  14. Or are they even working? Now you need to pop them like a mad, to defeat an IR-missile. In 1.2.6 you had 95% chance to defeat the incoming (if you saw it) without spending all the flares :D The feeling of this came, when i was testing a-10c againts Igla MANPAD. Before 1.5 it was easy to defeat the missile.
  15. Nice atmosphere! Finally no more darkening ground, when you go higher
  16. Same problem here! I can login to my account in the Website/Store, but can't into module manager. It says "incorrect login or username". Also multiplayer login goes with out problems...
  17. Those look way too photorealistic, to be in the current graphics engine / textures :D
  18. Nice! There seem's to be new ground textures too? :)
  19. But you'er using a cbu-97. With that thing the accuracy of using CCRP should be enough.
  20. Why not using CCRP?
  21. Well, the SU-25 is mainly armored around the cockpit to protect the pilot (like many other ground pounder) There must be a balance between the weight and armor, so the whole aircraft can't be made out of steel/titanium. ;)
  22. Well is there any screens/videos about those new fire/smoke/explosion effects.. ? Yes i now they are "WIP" but so far we've seen only the old effects in these videos, when almost everything else is visually changed and become better.
  23. I totally agree with the OP. The visual spotting of the distant planes is very important, damage model and flight physics of course where the ED shines!. Also i wish ED would focus more to the visual effects (explosions, smoke, dust particles, water impcats.... etc) I leave this here: Team fusion has done some good job with the effects http://youtu.be/tf4zV2gWL-c?t=6m43s BTW I wonder when the DCS ww2 planes get the current nice wingtip vapour effect? :music_whistling:
  24. Even tuning the terminal velocity of the gbu-31/38 to a higher number would be enough at the moment and shouldn't be hard to do? Couple of seconds can matter in the battlefield :smilewink:
