  1. Had fun today at shooting down many Tiger's in the "mig21 vs f-5e moose" server :D My missile knew its place :megalol:
  2. Huge FPS loss here too, when looking at the towns. This all happened after the 1.5.4 update.
  3. Huge performance drop here too. I have DCS World stable version installed in two different computers and they both have drop in fps. Deleted the options.lua but that didn't help. I think the cause of this is that, the game now draws all the very distant trees and buildings even with the default "zoom"/FOV level.
  4. Here you can see how moderate/heavy rain can look at high speeds in the canopy of the F-16. Look from 2:05 :)
  5. I hope ED would rework some of the airports in the current black sea map. Like adding better/higher res textures for runways and taxiways. Because at the moment some airports have higher texture resolutions than the other's like Anapa compared to Kobuleti airbase.
  6. "Detonation" is a little too violent word for this. There's a "little" difference between a combust of fuel in the closed/pressurized cylinder than, a fuel combusting in open exhaust manifold. Valve overlapping, high rpms with rapidly lifted/closed throttle can also be a reason for raw unburnt fuel being burnt in exhaust manifold. I don't know what kind of exhaust manifolds you have seen, but im pretty sure that example, a casted iron manifold doesn't crack from fuel combusting inside it, since it's open from another end. Gaskets might hurt though...
  7. That's because this "pop pop" usually happens when throttle is closed and there is high enough rpm in the engine. Normal thing for 4-stroke engines without "fuel cut out". This "popping" is rapid burning fuel in the exhaust , mainly because of valve overlapping and strong low pressure in the cylinder due the closed throttle. :)
  8. My mouse look is very slow after these hotfixe's. Luckily i have a gaming mouse so i can change the sensivity on the fly. Then i noticed that, the mouse look slows down/ lags behind when the fps goes down example from 60 to 40. This wasn't the case before... Hopefully ED fixes this soon. :thumbup:
  9. Does DCS run in fullscreen mode now, or do you still need to force it with alt+Enter?

  11. This! Here's some information of FOV too Also spotting and able to see / track an aircraft are two different things. Currently i dont have any problems to track enemy plane, when using full ZOOM IN. The problem is there, that i can't dogfight all the time using full zoom (wich simulates the real vision without the full peripheral vision, of course...) because then i have difficulties to know the current orientation of my plane. And when i ZOOM OUT, there is risk that i lost the enemy etc. to the ground clutter... It's good to hear that ED improved the dot visibility. (haven't tested yet)
  12. Still not fixed after the 1.5.1 patch. Not at least with the "Egypt grey" skin.
  13. Every photo i look from internet of s-8 / s-5 shooting, the exhaust flame is only visible when the rocket leaves from the pod. While in DCS these small rockets make same bright flame like the agm-65 above.
  14. There is also a problem with the rockets/missile exhaust flames lighting. By looking this screenshot we see that the "exhaust fire" (or what is called?) lights up too much the smoke trail behind the missile, in clear daylight. I hope that those "flames" are WIP, because they look nothing like in RL photos/videos..
  15. It definately cares where you hit. I just tested it by shooting two t-55 tanks with bmp-2, 30mm cannon. The first tank i shooted to the back side of the hull and it took about 40 ap rounds to destroy it. To the second one, i aimed to the front of the hull and it took all the ammo. The "health bar" didn't even lower. So in DCS there is a very simplified "damage/hit area"- model, but nothing like in etc. "steel beast's pro" simulator.
  16. Don't even bother to use 30mm againts infantry, since it's loaded only with AP rounds... (at least in DCS world) I have succesfully killed MBT's with the cannon. You need to dive and aim for top of the hull, then it works. But it's not an easy task.:smilewink:
  17. It would be nice to have different water textures/colour for rivers and lakes. :)
  18. I noticed that this "model visibility"- setting works fine with ground vehicles, but with aircrafts it could be little better..
  19. There's already a proper doppler effect and a sonic boom sound. You can test the doppler effect by example, using the free camera view (left ctrl + F11) and "flying" past aircraft wich have engine running...
  20. I just noticed that, this "model visibility" settings works as it should with ground units. Not with the aircraft's, at least not in my computer...
  21. But the trees aren't forming any shadows in that screen? Try same with different time of the day. Like 9am, so the trees are forming a long shadows. Thats when the heavy fps loss starts, at least in my machine.:music_whistling:
  22. Same here. Shadows generally eat lots of fps in different games..
