  1. This may be a really noobish question not even related specifically to the BF 109, but I've noticed when flying the basic quick start and takeoff missions that I can't get either the machine guns or cannon to fire. They appear to be loaded, and I flip the weapons enable switch, but nothing happens when I pull the trigger(s). Meanwhile the weapons work fine when flying the intercept and dog fighting missions. Is there a setting in the mission builder? Or am I just missing something basic. Thanks.
  2. I haven't taken it that high yet, so I guess that's why it hasn't been an issue for me yet.
  3. Indeed, thank you Juan. I'm really loving this aircraft. It's a charm to fly! Much appreciated.
  4. Thank you Jemimus. I'll give it a try.
  5. I love this aircraft too, but no matter how I start it a red BLOC.CAB. warning is displayed throughout the flight, without apparent ill effect. I'd like to know what it's trying to tell me.
  6. Works like charm. Thank you! Yes, an 11-button mouse. So many buttons, so little time. (And it's wireless.) :)
  7. Thanks for the tips. I use a G602 Logitech Wireless Gaming Mouse with 11 programmable buttons. I have thus far programmed 2 of them so I can zoom and out while using the joystick hat to pan ( Saitek X52 Pro Flight HOTAS). I have also programmed the throttle's ministick mouse controller to pan, which is useful. I have discovered that I enter a panning mouse mode by double-clicking the scroll wheel; I just wish there was some way I could make it work with a single-click. This link provides instructions on how to make your mouse capable of both panning and interacting with controls: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?...7&postcount=13
  8. Looks like mine was a rather naive post. I'd forgotten that cockpit switches are toggled via left and right mouse clicks. After some research I've found this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=130829
  9. My apologies if this has been addressed before, but with another flight sim I've become accustomed to panning the interior cockpit view by holding down the right mouse button. It's not a toggle, rather holding the right mouse button binds binds pan viewing to mouse movement, and releasing it returns the mouse cursor. Any way to accomplish this with the DSC World sims? Thanks.
  10. Got mine. Beautiful aircraft! I don't see a user manual. Is anything available? Thanks.
  11. Thanks Raven. I'll give your suggestions a try. And there's some consolation in knowing that this isn't just my issue. :)
  12. I'm a long-time fan of DCS products and I have just gotten a new Saitek X-52 Pro HOTAS joystick and throttle. While the setup works great with DCS World, I'm having a problem with Saitek's Profile Editor and as Saitek no longer hosts a forum I thought I'd see if anybody might be able to help me here. I hope this isn't too off-topic. Whenever I try to add a “pinkie” command in the Profile Editor, the editor will suddenly post a message saying that it has crashed and I should shut it down (sometimes I also get an error from Microsoft .NET Framework). I shut the Profile Editor down, restart it, and everything seems okay, but from then on none of my programming commands work; they will not display in the Profile Editor's Test Profile window, nor do they show up in a text file nor work in any DCS World sim. Neither shutting down and restarting the Profile Editor nor the Profiler will restore key command functionality. Unfortunately, the ONLY way to restore key command functionality to the X-52 Pro is to completely restart my computer; once restarted, they work fine—so long as I don’t try editing any profiles. This is really annoying. Any suggestions? 13. That helps a lot. Thanks!
  14. I've got a noob flight control question. QUESTION: How important is throttle control to flying the UH-1H Huey? Is this something I will be using a lot, and should I map the throttle control to my joystick? As a PC flight simmer, the helicopters I've flown in the past required just collective and cyclic control, and I always assumed throttle (RPM?) for helicopters was constant for most flying. Now I'm reading the manual for DCS World's UH-1H Huey and it's talking about throttle control as well. Is throttle management important to flying this sim? Or does one setting work well for most flying (with of course the exception being startup/shutdown). My control system is pretty basic: a single Thrustmaster T-16000M Flight Stick. Thanks.
  15. I've got a noob flight control question about the UH-1H Huey and I'm posting here because I don't see a forum dedicated to this new product yet, but since it's regarding helicopters I thought I'd ask here first. 16. I can be a little slow, but Skatezilla did provide the clue that ultimately led me to resolve this vexing issue. This after I re-downloaded all 10 GB of source files, uninstalled and then reinstalled DCS World thinking that something fundamental had gotten corrupted. :)
  17. Finally got it to work. Turned out the problem was that I was trying to map the throttle slider via Flight Controls, where in fact it needs to be done under Axis Commands. Who woulda thought?
  18. Not sure what you mean. I think previously throttle binding was automatic in DCS World, and when it is not I select the joystick option for throttle and slowly move the throttle up (or down), at which point it's automatically detected. I do have Thrustmaster's TARGET GUI installed, but haven't really used it. Maybe there's something I can do from there? FOLLOW-UP: Were you asking if I was filtering the keybindings by Axis Commands? No, I've been filtering by Flight Controls, if that's what you meant.
  19. Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately the problem remains--no throttle response. Even if I try to select "Slider 0" from the joystick button drop-down menu, there is no Slider 0 to select, just joystick buttons. :no_sad:
  20. I have a Thrustmaster T.16000M joystick and it has been working great with the A-10C and the Uh-1H. Yesterday I purchased and installed Flaming Cliffs 3 and now suddenly my joystick throttle control has stopped working. Meanwhile other joystick features continue to work fine, it's just the throttle that has disappeared from all keybindings. When I go to the control options and attempt to bind the joystick throttle, it's as though the throttle control isn't there, regardless of how much I move it. This is the case for every DCS World product. Meanwhile I have confirmed that the throttle is working via Windows 7 configuration utility, and it still works fine for my other non-DCS World flight sims. I have opened a support ticket with DCS World, but no solution yet, so I thought I would check here. Can anybody help? Thanks.
