  1. yeah, im sure its hard to hear it from inside but I would love to hear it from outside the jet in DCS as well haha. The pilot may not be able to hear it but i'm sure he feels the buffet.
  2. I have just one wish for the DCS A-10. I would absolutely love to hear the sound of the airflow separation over the wings when they pull out of the mock gun runs. It seems to be hard to hear in videos but you can pick it out if you know what your listening for, i'm sure anyone who has seen the A-10 airshow demo in person has probably heard it as its very loud when your actually there. The sound happens at high AoA and high speed and i am fairly certain it is the stall buffet / airflow separating over the wing. Here's a few examples, the youtube link is a little harder to hear but my uploaded video is probably the best i can find. It would be amazing to hear this in sim as well! 20230616_141823.mp4 https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxQpV7EYttcbHbHsINyrIG4D2D6ts7R88C?si=iGSKmH7GgHdLib2h
  3. for me its only DCS that does it, and yes, ive updated nvidia drivers.
  4. yes, it sometimes says steam vr failed ive tried the steamvr open beta and stable version
  5. Hello, I seem to have an issue where DCS starts just fine in VR, I select a mission and get into the mission fine but if I choose certain aircraft IE: F-16, the headset goes black on loading up the cockpit. its still running on my monitor but the headset itself goes black. any ideas to what could be the issue? I have tried all the VR optimization guides/shaders, tried updating steam VR to no avail. PC specs: Intel I7 8700, 16GB DDR4, ASUS RTX 2080TI OC 11GB
  6. after the 2.5.5 update, when I get in an aircraft, Ill randomly fall through the ground. sometimes it happens during startup, and sometimes it won't happen until I go to land and I just fall through the runway during touchdown, and sometimes it won't happen at all. I have to leave the server and rejoin to correct. I know its not my connection cause I can still see other aircraft flying and see chat. I've seen some other people talk about this so I don't think its just me. I'm running the latest OB.
  7. Haha yup, that's where I got my recordings for my sound mod actually! CF-34s and TF-34s are identical inside
  8. My bad lol. anyways just updated again for a few more tweaks, pls give any feedback you have
  9. for those that don't like the new engine sounds, I just updated my mod to use the new effects. Sounds a lot better IMHO then stock.https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305421/
  10. Exactly my point. there is a million speculated reasons, but a 3rd pylon is not one of them. every one of them that there are pictures of, only has 4. There are also no hardpoints to put another pylon. I mean heck, the early Ka-52's only had 4, and they came AFTER the Ka-50 was already designed.
  11. ^^ this all makes sense, im not a weapons specialist so im not entirely sure on what its for. I'm a civilian aircraft mechanic so I do know how general airframes work, the only thing I'm pretty sure on is the AA switch is not a magical "3rd Pylon" There is no structural point for a pylon to go other then the 4 that is already there.
  12. I'm pretty sure the AA position activates electronics which would be used only in AA situations. It is impossible for a desktop computer to simulate every Capacitor in in aircraft. Some things are simplified but work "correctly". There are lots of backround computer systems behind the scenes that no one knows about. It would also make sense that the designers thought "well, if we don't need all these AA computer systems working all the time, how about we disengage them and save some engine power (it takes hp to turn a generator) and have a selector to turn them on." just because something can be interpreted as a "3rd Pylon" doesn't mean that is what it is. I haven't seen any solid proof of any 3rd pylon on the Ka-50, prototype or not. The only way I could see a 3rd pylon would be to take off the wingtip fairing alltogether
  13. For those of you that believe this line drawing is correct, 1st, the wingtip fairing is riveted on, including the fins on the bottom and top. they aren't going to drill out rivets and put new ones in everytime they want a "3rd pylon" 2nd, the wingtip fairing and its fins are made of fiberglass. Fiberglass is not a good support for any kind of heavy loads, especially ones that are hanging from it where the CG of the weight versus the attach point is so high. 3rd, there is no visible place to attach cannon plugs, or anything of that sort for the electronics to "talk" to a detachable pylon. PS. don't take this the wrong way, meant to be a friendly debate :) If someone can provide a real picture, ill gladly stand corrected
  14. Every source out there lists 4
