that's perfect, thanks for the help guys. For some reason I couldn,t get that from the manual. I read that para and was left thinking what the hell. good to know about the fuel pumps controlled by the circuit breakers, I've just been leaving them on.

Hey Guys, In the effort to fly this thing as realistic as possible I was hoping someone could tell me how to use the fuel system in the fw190. I tried reading from the manual but page 93 makes no sense to me as I think it was written by a non English person or I'm losing it. Either way I feel lost at this point. Can someone rewrite the paragraph more clearly? And regarding the fuel selector handle in cockpit: What does the auf (on setting do) . Does it draw from both tanks in the right order? Not. This is the one with a red background. Have no idea. Vorderer zu - I assume this means you want to turn off the front pump and use the rear tank? Hinterer zu - you want to turn off rear pump and use front tank? Not sure what settings to use so I currently fly with it set to auf. Thanks for any help on my next hurdle with this aircraft. I'm enjoying it so far. Tracer

Thanks for the replies guys. I will install that mod tonight and give it a try. I really hope it helps in the meantime. Its not the best solution but right now I honestly cannot spot anything. I'm even going on to the areobatic server, flying near other bases and then try to spot planes where I know they are and I am having a hell of a hard time spotting. I don't know anyone to wing with and I doubt anyone wants to fly with a liability LOL. I'm just going to have to practice and hopefully it will get easier. I don't want to stick around base but I need the flak to spot for me right now. I used to fly Falcon 4 a lot and do prefer real world tactics as Nevo mentioned. I'm definitely not looking for a quick fix, I would fly War Thunder if I wanted that. I've spent a lot of time learning the P51 and feel comfortable with most of the switches etc now, I'm looking for the full experience. I watched a video yesterday of 2 guys using TS comms and they coordinated their actions, now thats flying :) Thanks again.

Hey Guys, Did anything ever come from this? I mean is there any servers that allow even a blue or red dot for an enemy plane? I'm feeling comfortable driving the P51D and would like to try some combat but right now am still just a target. My only option is hiding at base and hope for a lucky bounce before I get taken out. Not very fun to be honest.

I am not able to connect tonight but have been online since the 17th. I made no setting changes, just can't log on. Will try again tomorrow, seems to be hit or miss for me. Did the sync thing. thanks Tracer

I'm in the same boat Tumbleweed. I hesitate to join a server like DOW for that very reason. I'd just be a target for a better player. Its like learning how to fight against Mike Tyson, all you learn is getting the crap kicked out of you : ).

Its odd, last night I was able to connect with no errors. I didn't change a thing. I'll try again tonight and see if its still working. At the beginning of last night I was getting the error, then before I logged off I was able to connect. I wonder if they did something on the server end.

Hey Guys, I Noticed last night that I cannot connect to multi-player anymore. Still can't and get that error cannot connect to master. I didn't change any settings but did notice an update recentlly, then when I started the next day was unable to connect. Is the servers down right now? Is there anyway I can check if servers are up or down other than asking here? I am running Bit Defender, and when turned off it still can't connect. I deleted the cfg file and cookie in the users dir but still no good. Can someone give me the IP Address for master.digitalcombatsimulator.com I was told I need to open the firewall for it but need the ip address. Thanks for any help Tracer

Thanks for the info guys, Lock On that was the name I was looking for : ). I think I'll go ahead and purchase FC3 then, I like where DCS is going and want to support them to do more. I just wasn't going to buy it if I had to buy an older version of a flightsim. Thanks again Tracer
-
Hey guys, can I add a question on here? I thought I read before that in order for FC3 o work you had to buy the original as well, is that still true? Or can I buy FC3, install it and the aircraft will all run with only FC3 installed? Thanks Tracer

Ok I was just about to logoff for the night and tried one more time and was successful. I first logged in to the Module Manager then multiplayer. Will try again tomorrow night when I get home. You guys must have tweaked something, thanks. Will let you know if I have issues tomorrow night, and will include pc specs. Thanks again Tracer

I just tried and it gave me an error saying my password was wrong, so I double checked it and entered it manually and got the same response. I checked again and still can't get into multiplayer. Tracer

I get this too now, I have been unable to login since new patch and prior had no issues connecting. I assume someone is looking into it? Tracer

Thanks for the help Zabuza, To test I went in to my own mission offline and it worked as you described and as in the manual. Good to know going forward. Being so new to the sim I'm still trying to figure out the keybindings : ) , too used to F4 Tracer

Hey Guys, Thanks for the comments. Will try the RWR at a higher alt next time. I did look at the smoke stacks but I don't think they are modelled to move with the wind. And contacting tower is hit or miss even with the right freq. I have been online a couple of times now and called tower but they don't replay back, so I just pick a runway and hope no one is coming in. I don't know what I can be doing wrong with the comms, I've tried changing the various comm mode switch settings. I wonder if it could be the plane I just into in an online session that is set to the wrong airport maybe? Is that possible? Thanks Tracer

Hey Guys, Sorry if this has been posted before, I did search but could find nothing on it. Its interesting, the restriction on comms in the P51. So if I was to fly to an alternate airfield and want to land there, can I ask how it done in DCS? In real life I would use the radio if its uncontrolled then broadcast to traffic my intentions. Fly over the runway looking for a windsock to determine active runway then join the traffic pattern accordingly. But I don't think windsocks are modeled in this sim yet or not sure if they ever will be. I'm just curious what other serious sim P51 drivers do in this case? How do you determine the active runway if you don't have comms for that airbase? Brand new on here but am enjoying the experience so far. The P51 is a very nice plane. The cockpit is very well done and is a joy to be in. Its a far cry from the old days back in the 1990's, things have come a long way. I missed out on supporting the new WWII world but will definitely be there when it is released, this sim has a lot of potential. I just hope they keep trying to make it better and better. Oh, and another question if I can. Last night I was flying home and my RWR went off, but nothing was behind me. I recycle it and it stays quiet for a short time then goes off again so I just turn it off. Is this feature not working like the others on the right side of the cockpit? Or is this a bug potentially? Thanks Tracer1

Thanks for that Merlin. Just need a place where I can train so my altitude is staying pretty steady either straight or in a turn, and I'm working on mud moving now as well. Good to know where not to go : ), but at the same time its great to see other ships in the air, gets awfully lonely knowing your the only one there. I got pedals coming next week hopefully so that should help things immensely. All my old gear is not compatible with my new computer sadly. See you in the skies soon hopefully.

Hey Merlin, I don't mean to hijack the thread but I thought my question was better here than starting a new thread, if not I apologize. I am new to DCS and bought the P51 on sale. I've done a lot of sims over the years, a lot of warbirds way back when and F4. I'm still learning the systems and just trying to make the aircraft do what I want it to without shuddering so am working on vertical work, turns without losing alt, flying a straight course. But anyway, I joined the server last night and there were a few guys doing combat, so I jumped into a mustang took off and headed the other direction to practice. Its just nice to get in the air with other pilots. My question is, is it ok to do that or do you prefer the slots to be taken by active scenario participants? I don't want to break any protocol. And right now I just don't feel up to joining in on anything organized as I am still qualifying on the 51. I did join the server two nights ago but thought I saw a couple of guys briefing so I quickly left and flew elsewhere. But I have to admit it gets annoying when you are trying to take off with helicopters flying around you and being buzzed by jets as you taking off. Tracer
