Now I want to start this off by saying sorry for posting so much in one night. I have found a app to reconnect me to this grew community, so i apologize if I am annoying anyone. Now to the topic here and my last new topic. Now since I love this community I have got thinking about a new idea for chit chat with this topic as a way to see what life was like in a squadron. I realized I have had a fortunate stint in naval aviation and got to see alot, be apart of alot, and do alot of awesome things, and thought sharing these stories once a day or every other day would be a way to share this life with you all. Before i take it on my self to do this I just want to see your alls input and the admins input on doing a topic like this, to make sure it's ok and to see if you all would even be interested. Also before I would start this, I would like to share a little background of myself to you all. I am in my late 20's, I enlisted in to the navy at 18, the rate I chose was aviation machinist mate, (power plants/fuel systems) or in lame terms jet engine mechanic. I started my career at great mistakes I mean great lakes naval recruit training command, I went on from here to Tinker AFB Oklahoma for initial jet strand maintenance, I graduated 2nd in my class of 33. I received my choice of orders for being in the top 5 percent of my class and I chose VF32 Virginia Beach at NAS Oceana which was at that time still flying 14's. When I arrived I was immediately sent to C school for specific for F18E/F "Super Hornet", I graduated 9 weeks later and went on to aviation fire fighting school, fuel contamination school, and other assortment of schools. I made 3 cruises, I am plane captain certified (had my name on my bird) and I took care of that aircraft on the ground. AC107 tail number, I was an aviation air warfare specialist, trouble shooter (white jersey and float coat) and in my later years aircrew certified. I switched to the army around 2010/2011 for personal reasons we will touch on later if you all are interested in this idea. Main reason, like I stated above, just to share the life that was aviation. To tell you all of the sacrifices made, the guys that did it and still are out there as we speak on flight lines/flight decks around the world, and to share a little bit of myself with you all. Look forward in hearing back from you all.

O wow the map is that big? I would say F15 horizontally, I know that's like 2 and half to almost 3 times bigger. (didnt realize it was that huge)
-
How long does it take to fly across the region? Anyone tried it?
-
Thanks, new to the editor so that's why i was curious, lol. Never too late to learn.

So I was curious on instant action in DCS, say if I want the P51 to take on the ME109, how can I set it up to be that era of aircraft in instant action? Would I have to do this in editor? Tried earlier and found my self trying to flee a mig from this era lol, to say the least, it did not end well lol. Thanks!!!

That is really cool. I have to say out of all units in the military as a whole, being apart of a aviation squadron was unique. You had the separation of officer/pilots and enlisted/mechanics and technicians, but the defying line was extremely blurred. You didnt want to see 4 birds out of 5 come home, you want to see them all. The aircraft and pilots were different and had virtually their own personalities. I loved this article. Thank you.

Lol I have this game, here is how you up your social characteristics in game. 1.) Find mosin 2.) Find stripper clip ammo of the 7.62X54 nature 3.)Head over to berezino and find a good spot under a pine tree 4.) wait for an individual to head in to hospital 5.)Hold breath, Squeeze trigger and say hello! Note if someone pops out suddenly, skip stages 1-4 and perform stage 5, you will make friends fast!!! Good day :)

I dont know about you all, but I am really excited where DCS is heading! I haven't felt that about any simulator/games in a very very long time. I actually think DCS could over take Microsoft on flight sim any day of the week. So thank you to the dcs community, & developers for your awesome hard work. This is a side topic on this note, DCS could essentially become a one stop shop for all sims, like ground warfare like infantry, like arma style ground war, then there are no good modern naval Sims and this could be done here as well. Would be epic. I know the engine wouldn't support this probably but just a thought. What do you all think?

Thank you lol, I apologize, I didn't really find much about that issue on google so that's why I asked, sorry about that.

I recently purchased the BF109 K4 module, and I went to modules to install it but when I clicked it and it started to do the install it gave me this error. Unkown Module BF109-K4 And when I get back to the module install screen, it says I have to pay money for it. Did this happen because it hasn't been released yet? I havent really had internet in the past 3 months and decided to update my computer today and install all the modules I have purchased. Thanks for the help you all and I apologize if I posted in to wrong area.

I would be with you on that as well. Seems like dcs is the busiest its been in over the past two years. I was in VF-32 when they flew tomcats and when they transitioned to Hornets E&F, I was a engine (aviation machinist mate) mechanic on them. Would be excited for it.

lol true but I'm hoping. I cant find the post again but aren't they developing a MI24 hind module? I cant wait for that either.

With all the great new aircraft and maps coming soon, I am filled with excitement!!! I have money in my account waiting to be thrown at this :) Thank you to the teams for working hard on this. Hands down DCS is the best sim ever and only getting better!!!

Question, apologize for posting in wrong area if I do so.
army198527 replied to army198527's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Thank you everyone. Finally cleared that up for me, I really think if DCS would have a ground combat mode, like say Arma, and the Tank warefare side more up to par with steel beast, this would be the ultimate simulator out there out side of just aviation. I love DCS alot. -
Question, apologize for posting in wrong area if I do so.

So what exactly is PFM? Does this individual version have anything better than the FC3 version? I get confused by how they sale things. I have every single module available. -
SU27 pre sale in module in game, question, it says people who own Flaming Cliffs 3 need not buying the SU 27 module, is the aircraft the same exact aircraft in Flaming cliffs 3? Or is there more detail in this version? Second question, the credits with my account for buying other games (Bonus points) can you use all of them to buy an entire module or will it only take a percentage off and that's it? Thanks you all and once again I apologize.

Hello, I have entered my serial number like 8 times and its correct, some odd reason the game is saying it's wrong. I got the serial number off of the e mail that was sent to me when I purchased the modules. Trying to do the offline registration on FW 190 and Sabre, Lost on what to do now. Anyone know why it's not taking the serial number in offline mode? *update* Nvm, guess I have to have internet to access it, loading the computer up and taking it to a friends house. They need to expand the internet to rural areas, this is ridiculous. Anyways sorry community. Stuck in the country with no internet now, going insane.

thanks guys, I will just save my money then. I love DCS alot, so far got every module out there. I love the helicopters we have, just was looking for a apache sim, but Ill just wait. Thanks for letting me know about Falcon as well.

Hello Community, First off, I want to apologize in advance if I am posting in the wrong area, I tried picking a area that would best match my question. Question 1 I was debating about getting Falcon 4.0 and I have been confused on this for weeks, Is Falcon 4.0 and Falcon 4.0 Allied Force two separate games entirely? I thought I read on one website that Allied Force had all the same features as the regular Falcon 4.0, but then I thought I read a article saying their entirely different games. I was trying to see if someone could help me with this. Question 2 Last but not least does anyone have any good recommendations for a military helicopter sim outside of Flight sim X, I have take on helicopters and all the Arma games, I was trying to find something dedicated to military attack helicopters. (Hopefully DCS gets these beautiful helicopters out more frequently :music_whistling: :)) Question 3 Also I can not find the forum with the next possible release aircraft for DCS. Just asking because I got Dora and Sabre, now I have to get that wallet ready again for my next beauties :) Thank you everyone! :) And sorry if the questions seem idiotic, I tried figuring out Falcon 4.0, what really confused me is I seen Falcon 4.0 for almost 100 dollars on Amazon but allied force for like 29 dollars so I assumed Allied force was a water down version, and the helicopter sims, I wasn't sure if they had a dedicated military sim out there, I just recently found out about steel beast as a tank sim and have a blast with that so I didn't know if there was one under the radar that someone in the community might know about. And the last one I seen post where people were saying what they thought were coming out but wasn't confirmed and didn't know if anyone had news on what modules were coming possibly.
-
Thanks, and that's really cool :) Hope Mig comes out or the ME 109, Hind would be cool too lol. Heck just make all the aircraft out there lol. BTW thanks for that on my Fiance, I am happy she is back.
-
well you all might be right, things might actually look up, Fiance and I are back together, we made up and Im just happy to have her back home. She said she missed me too much and things are finally looking up, the other great news, Sabre came out and I purchased it :) Great day. count my blessings :) btw thanks community for being there for words of advice when things looked very dark. Won't forget you all for that. also got my tank simulator in too!!! Bought Steel Beast Pro PE so I got everything going in the right direction. O one last question, bought Sabre, looking at my account it says My account in US dollar "53.00" what is that for? Lost on that, seen it when I clicked my account on DCS world website to see my past order history, I have all DCS modules.

I don't even have a response to this one, I don't know what to say, I have friends over there and I am stumped. RIP, and prayers to the family. -
Any day, heard between the 15th and 30th. just keep checking back.
