Logs into Multiplayer server, gets kitted out with some serious firepower - engines get cranked and I am off to the battlefield. Bunch of infantry, all lined up the fools! Mwah ha ha, I place my crosshairs on the target, closing in fast - their tiny bodies becoming bigger as I approach. And then, I see it. A couple of tracers flying right my way, Ha! this thing can take a couple of bullets, it's a frickin tank - then I hear the dreaded "donk" - oh no, my right engine is on fire, Oh sh*t! The training missions didn't prepare me for this, I fool around pressing every button on my extinguisher panel "psshhhttt" "psshhhtt" - damn, the fire is still burning - I see a FARP in the distance, I can make it! I get within distance and there goes my rotors.... i fall from the sky like a brick - Ka-BOOM! I sigh.... - then slowly hit the reload button and do it all over again! :thumbup::thumbup:

Hi, I am having a great deal of trouble with the AGM-122. I have adjusted to the sidearm volume procedure. I turn the sliders all the way up and can correctly hear sidewinders growl. But with the AGM-122 I cannot hear any growl or tone at all. Second to that, I can't confirm if it has locked onto target. The AGM-122 used to throw the boresight onto target when locked which it is not doing in this case so I really can't use them at all. I also had the issue where the harrier shot the cannon instead of the AGM-122 Anyone else got this, or am I going mad?
-
Only way to really fix it is to deselect the weapon with the numbered pylon buttons, then re-select it
-
Not sure if this has been reported, but I am having an issue where I cannot change from area track to Point track so it chases moving vehicles. I am mostly cold starting these days / I remember it did use to work, have not tested it while spawning in the air. Am I doing something wrong? Clicking the button does nothing.

I could be hitting the wrong key for sure User error most likely! My apologies

Weird! Must be user error

Hi guys, I could be totally wrong here - but I think there is an issue with the IR Mavs. I always used the method of finding the target on the TDC - un-caging the the so it focused on where my TDC was - then as I got within firing range to tap the TDC slew down key until it got its lock. Doing this now appears to unslave the Maverick and its a really hard thing to fight just to get the crosshairs back on target so it will lock. Is this normal? Has something changed because I swear pressing the TDC down as per all guides indicate would not un slave the MAV Cheers

This is more of a question of the normality of taking off conventionally in the harrier. As you near 170 Rotation speed as per guide indicates, the aircraft appears to really fight you at the controls. Shaking along the runway (anti skid is on) trying to pull back gently doesn't really induce a nice clean AoA & you also smack your empennage on the runway unless you rotate your nozzles to around 25 degrees. I have read multiple guides on conventional takeoff, but none really explain it that well. I guess it is just trial and error. So I ask, how do you rotate off the ground nicely in the harrier?

Dear ED Forums, I come bringing another question, which may have a simple answer & I do hope so. Ran a flight with the Mi-8 to the top of the snow covered mountain which has the static P51 sitting on the top. Shutdown, then attempted to restart. The apu would kick the temp to up to normal and then just drop back to zero with a failed start. Batteries looked like they were providing power. I think the altitude was around 4 - 5000ft. No matter what combination I tried, "Heating etc" I could not get the apu to start. Any ideas what causes this? Attempting an Autostart kept showing the message "power supply failure" - but I have seen this a bit and can bypass it on the ground. Any ideas?

Switching the moving map to different display
jetstorm96 replied to jetstorm96's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I feel like an idiot. Thanks mate -
I am sorry - if this has been asked before.... But was just wondering if it is possible to switch the moving map to a different display? Right now I can't seem to work out how to get it off the lower middle display. I don't like the location as it is hard to see / reach and press Cheers!

I have to say - it took me about 10 tries flying the gazelle to finally destroy all those tanks on the runway!!! I thought I was being sneaky - pop just above into sight and KA-BAM! I am blown to smithereens from 3 kilometers away. Nothing is scarier than popping into view above a building and seeing a huge puff of smoke as the tank round smashes into the building in front of you That mission is crazy hard!

Dear all, We recently had an issue when switching to Autopilot / copilot in the UH-1H - the aircraft ended up burning the engine out and crashing. It appears that the AI in this case are not aware of the EGT limitations - even though they were flying straight and level. I have not done further testing but was wondering if this is actually an issue? Has this occurred to anyone else?

Maybe he forgot his phone?
-
Correct yes normally by default it is a long press of the delete key. Yes this works fin in single player I send my coordinates all the time to my wingman and he unleashes guided munitions on the target
-
Problem solved, didn't notice my SPI was not turned on :D
-
Alright ive never done this before and I wanna know how. I am having an issue sending my wingmen to my spi to engage. I make a vehicle my spi, then I use the TAD highlight my wingmen press TMS up and click send. I then use the radio and choose Wingmen, Engage with, Ground target, missile, default. My player tells the wingman to engage target at my spi with maverick and he complies roger. But instead of flying to my spi the wingman flies off in some god unknown direction. Is this meant to happen? How do I get it to work

How to spot targets for your wingment to engage?
jetstorm96 replied to jetstorm96's topic in DCS: UH-1H
This is a late reply but you guys... Thanks so much this was the answer I was looking for. Yes attack ground targets or defenses is all I can use. It is a shame you cannot spot a truck and tell your Huey flight to attack that specific target -
Alright before I get started I want all of you to know that I understand this is a Beta. So I am more than happy to take this response if it is in the case. I don't know if it is just me or it is in every model, but while on the ground and with your parking brake set. When you put the throttle to full and the blades spin up to their peak. The helicopter will slowly turn to the right and it will keep turning slowly until you are facing a complete different direction. Now is this a glitch in the beta, or is this a glitch on my end. If so in the case is their a fix for this and can somebody please tell me what is happening. Thanks a lot! Proud DCS Customer JetStorm96:pilotfly:

I've asked this but did not get the answer I needed, so time to bring the post alive again. In the UH-1H how do I spot targets on the ground so my wing-men can engage them?
-
This was the same thing I found when I first got the game. The reason, who knows? But yes it would be nice if they were active
-
Thanks for the fantastic reply mate, much appreciated. Happy flying and best regards Aaron

Hi guys, I am running V 1.2.8 from steam and have come asking for assistance with the sling loading as there are no missions or tutorials available. So I hit the forums for answers and found that you need in my understanding to use \ to initiate the radio menu and select an option for cargo before you go and pick it up. I do not have a cargo option at all on my radio, I have tried placing cargo on a random airport, I tried the cargo camera and it did not turn on. ON ground or in the air and when I press Hook/Unhook nothing appears as a notification. Yet if I press Autohook it comes up saying auto and I cannot turn it off? This may be hard to visualize but I am sure others may have my issue. So can someone please, give me a detailed explanation on how to get this to work. Thankyou very much -Aaron:smilewink:

Thanks Wissam24, yes I still do not know how to
-
Hi thanks for the reply. I've mastered the use of the radio. I just would like to know. How do I spot targets for my wingmen? Being in the UH-1H I'd like to know how to spot them out so the engage my target would work Thanks
