  1. Hi all, I’ve run into an annoying bug that I can replicate every flight. It’s in regards to being the pilot and trying to aim the rockets / control them via the pilot HMD. After using George and having him select rockets, you’re unable to swap off the COOP / CRKT mode and full rely on George to aim the rockets. I’ve found if you get George to select either Gun or Hellfire, it allows you to take control of the rockets and aim them via Pilot HMD. HOWEVER, this causes a big problem when you run out of Gun ammo and Hellfire’s, George can only select Rockets which then locks you back into COOP or CRKT. I’ve found if you turn off the master arm and turn it back on and then WAS rockets, it shows the correct symbology, yet the “I” aiming queue does not appear on HMD. You cannot get the “I” to appear until you ask George to aim at another target and then this takes you back into COOP /CRKT
  2. Hey Holton, your server.lua file was absolutely perfect. It was the naming convention that tripped me up as I name it Mi-8MTV not Mi-8MT Hence the issues I was running with. Absolute champ, I will give snapviews a shot thought so I can try out the mod properly
  3. Thanks for the replies guys. Going through your attached server.lua - I note the helicopter is named Mi-8MT - I think that is where my issue lies. Do you also need to enable snap views in order to make this work? I am also making the assumption that the "proper neck mod" - is just the server.lua however with corrected values for all aircraft? Thanks!
  4. Hi, can someone help me modify my game files so that I can increase head movement to the left. It’s pretty terrible in its current state and I’d like to correct so I can get closer to the window and Increase my situational awareness. I tried following an old guide of copying a server.lua into a View folder under saved games / DCS etc etc, carries across the view information from the View.lua in the Mi-8 folder and inserted it into the Server.lua copy I made. However no changes appear to affect the view. I have triple checked the code and altering the Z axis which is was informed was left to right movement. Thanks
  5. Thanks so much mate! Love your guides.
  6. Sorry, must be a dumb question, can’t find it anywhere on the forums. I don’t know how to jettison my external fuel pods, I am hoping to get an answer before digging into the manual. Thanks all
  7. Was on a server yesterday and spawned on a carrier. Double check D/L and insured Jester had it configured, however when the Alignment kicked off it briefly prevented "ASH" which is good, however it quickly changed to a flashing 07 and HS which wouldn't advance, the only option I had was to shutdown and restart, I was unable to tell Jester to restart the process which is super annoying. I ended up re spawning in 4 different locations on the carrier with the same thing happening each time. I know HS means it lost connection with the carrier D/L - however am I doing something wrong? How can I fix this without a Human RIO? I have never had this issue before. If it does happen again, would be good to have a fix.
  8. I am unable to view the pilot body my pressing the assigned command. Not sure if this has been an ongoing bug, as it has been a good few months since I flew the A/C
  9. I had this happen to me when I struck my nosewheel and it collapsed. 3 repairs did not fix the aircraft - it remained disabled with the nose on the ground Would like to see this fixed
  10. Appreciate the comment, when it works there is the initial pitch down, however on these frequent occasions I experienced earlier this week, the pitch down was more drastic - at least between 5 - 10 degrees and the pitch up it automatically performed to get level was about the same. I had the controls axis display up on the corner of the screen and you could see the stick "diamond" rise and descend on the Y Axis constantly, it never stopped. However, when I did use it the other day it did function (after the rollback update to .40) - I will test tonight and if it does replicate will gather the track + capture of it happening.
  11. It would of been around 250 - 300 knots. All I know is it occurred all day - I'd hit the button and the plane would bop up and down like a dolphin swimming in water. It didn't matter if I was trimmed for level flight. I will do some further testing tonight - with the new update.
  12. Yes I did a few times while running throttle on max. The engine then appears to lose a lot of power and you can't increase it over like 80% thrust.
  13. I had the same issue, but it came down to the bad cockpit textures which were the route cause. Assumed when the AP Channel buttons were "bright blue" they were on, turns out to be the opposite, depressed and "dark blue" that kinda looks like they're not on at all.
  14. I logged it as a bug report. Yesterday's flying drew fairly better results, I was going around 300 - 350 knots level and it managed on a couple of times to stay completely stable. However I do note this was after an update or a "rollback" as dcs_updater took the version from .41 back to .40 Will keep monitoring, the previous days it was pretty awful, I had it happen a number of times and ended up having to result to just trimming the aircraft. The aircraft continued to "bop" for over 4 minutes. Will see!
  15. Have not filed a bug report, thanks for confirming my suspicions, I will do one now.
  16. Excuse me if this is the wrong section for this thread. I noticed recently that the SAU recovery has been struggling to maintain a constant straight forward flight. I trim the aircraft so it is fairly stable in straight flight and engage the SAU recovery so that I can focus on other items hands off. However when it engages, even at level flight, the aircraft points down and lose altitude and the pulls upwards and gains and this continues. It appears to struggle to get level and continues to over compensate by "bopping" up and down continuously. I don't have a track - this is more general as I swear I never had this issue is the past, though it has been quite some time since I put some time back on this module. I wanted to know if this is a common problem, if perhaps this isn't even an issue, or if this is report worthy. I will happily replicate and attach a track if needed.
  17. I use a cheap Logitech 3D Pro - my curves are set to around 35 for pitch and Roll while rudder "twist grip stick" is set to around 50ish. I am still experimenting but so far appears okay.
  18. Normally when you ask for a Target lock or enemy lock Jester will IFF interrogate and of friendly will make a call out “we locked a friendly” and unlock the target. Tonight he locked a friendly and I ended up shooting down the friendly F-14 as I had no idea he was bad. This occurred twice and I have resulted to having to Monitor the f10 map and altitude readings. So bazaar! Is there a way to IFF as the pilot? I’m so worried now about anything I lock
  19. Im sure everyone uses trackIR but for the poor soul like me with a hat switch, can anyone inform me how to reduce sensitivity? looking around in the tomcat is near impossible without having to use the mouse instead
  20. I enjoy it, very easy and forgiving to fly - wish it could carry more ammo for the main cannon

  22. Absolutely, climb to altitude and dive at speed, you can let off a few missiles up their butt and be out of the scene before they know what the hell just happened. Good luck avoiding those with the extra velocity
  23. From what I have gathered the continuous beep presented at idle throttle appears to be in reference to lowering landing gear as I believe the knob on the gear stick lights up in conjunction of the sound. What does this beep mean? Am I below a specific speed and it is trying to warn me to lower the landing gear? As it appears to happen all the time. It can be quite annoying, my OCD doesn't like having the throttle slightly forward of idle to stop the sound. Just curious Thanks!
