  1. Take off and landing seem to not have changed for me. The same old bumpy ride down the tarmac. Btw did the alpha testers etc actually simulate take offs in this thing? It's crazy, feels like rally car driving.
  2. yer I used it as a attitude hold before the patch also and worked great but now its pretty useless.
  3. yer i guess most of the real pilots are flying real aircraft or x-plane. but i don't mind a bit of combat with DCS still
  4. love my trackIR, wouldn't fly without it. Had no problems with mine for many years. initial cost is high but if you fly sims a lot its definitely worth the investment.
  5. Airforce
  6. this thread keeps going in loops. im not interested in a jet fighter losing some of its wing- completely different dynamics. Im talking about the flight model in the DCS Dora module. So going by the constant replies by ED and constantly showing us different types of planes/aerofoils and how it can fly (but never anything related to the DCS Dora model). im guessing they believe that the DCS Dora model is 100% correct and doesn't need to be changed. So be it. my 20 years as a pilot tells me otherwise ( I confess though, flying turbines isn't anything like a Dora - never flown a dora in real life). I guess in the end, this platform/module is only a game, and games are not real life (unless you live in Asia and play WoW) thanks for all the input everyone
  7. +1
  8. did you forget to include the "almost" out of my sentence on purpose(almost completely off)? Please look at my first post that created this topic and look at the pics and tell me if the wing is still 43% remaining actually look at the right aileron also.. its also damaged. so the whole point of me creating this original post was to see if the flight model for the DCS DORA (not a paper plane) will be fixed. Lets create a Kickstarter project to build an exact real life scale replica Dora with the same damage (min. left wing left, right aileron damage etc) and get someone to pilot it in real life :megalol: Additional extras to the kickstarter project will be a parachute. Any volunteers to pilot this Dora??:pilotfly::joystick:
  9. sure everything can fly with enough momentum/energy e.g. rockets without any wings that produce lift etc, a rock being thrown into the air. why dont u make an exact replica aerofoil and Body of a Dora then cut the wing almost completely off and throw it and make it fly (controlled flight) for longer than 5 secs please.
  10. cause x-plane said its not possible :music_whistling: no but in all honesty, if you have about 10% of the wing left on one side like in the previous Posts/pics, wouldnt the lift thats being produced from the other wing be just too great for the dora to keep flying it (would the one remaining aileron and rudder be able to actually Counter?)? i understand if some of the wing was gone ,sure but that much? im gonna have to tap these aerofoil numbers into my calc :pilotfly:
  11. looks like this has now been fixed in the latest patch. I haven't been able to confirm it yet though (too busy flying the mig21bis) Change Log 1.2.10 32275 Update 2 DCS World Fixed lost of progress in campaign after 1.2.10.03295 update Fixed bug when player at start mission switching to aircraft with random skill instead assigned aircraft Fixed server crash on Radio.dll in multiplayer Fixed crash in multiplayer mode when uses Oculus Rift device Added missing picture of MiG-15Bis in encyclopedia for RU and DE version Added missing textures of BTR-80 for Ukraine and Georgia DCS Flaming Cliffs Su-27/33, MiG-29. 12. ok ill give it a go. thanks for your info and help
  13. what was the outside air temp? cowls fully open? what did the temp gauges indicate?
  14. Hi, Just wondering what people think about the engine sounds in this beta? To me the plane sounds very quite compared to all the other turbines, almost like its an e-plane. Especially when watching externally Is this true in real life or does it just need tuning?
  15. ok thanks for that. guess is was a bit misleading cause its called a power off/on switch. so Powering on shows the recticule but powering off just locks the gyro
  16. it is the power switch but you are right, when U turn the power switch off it locks the gyro. Maybe I have assigned the wrong key to my joystick?
  17. When U switch on the power and then back off, the sight still stays on. Happened since the new update..
  18. HI, I just updated to the latest DCS version and noticed that all my control profiles are gone. When I try to reconfigure them all my Rudder pedals show up but I can't assign anything to them e.g. left rudder and brakes.. I have confirmed that my pedals still are working in X-Plane anyone else have this problem?
  19. Hi, I'm wondering is it normal that after this update all my control settings are gone? Do I really have to load all my profile again for the modules?
  20. nice pics! i recall an israeli airforce pilot also landing with only one wing but that was a turbine. however i think the pics from the sim show very little wing left in this case. if half of it was broken off fair enough
  21. ahh cool, i did a search but didn't find anything but at least its been brought up and hopefully will be fixed
  22. Hi, Was just wondering if the flight model for single wing flight will be fixed in a later version? I can fly the Dora with a single wing (actually a bit of wing left) and land it ok also. Anyone else have this?
  23. i don't think an option to manually drop the flaps exists, few times i needed this option but landing without flaps is fine. yesterday i landed the dora with 1 wing and no flaps!!! (actually i still had a good 50cm of wing on the left side).
  24. ok done.. thanks!:pilotfly:
