  1. Wonderful guide! So much easier than just plowing through the -1....thank you so much for the wonderful images and guides! Beautiful document!
  2. We need DCS kneeboard tape deck for that to happen!
  3. BMS is currently doing a Hornet as well. And they will be there first. So when it comes out does ED say awww boo guess we tried but BMS beat us to it. Pack it up boys I guess we will just throw it away cause now there's another sim doing it and taking our market share. NeilWillis I agree and that's fine...just so sick of people having no hope cause BMS did it
  4. I think people would still play both sims. They would would offer two different experiences.
  5. This is true there are a lot of flavors. But as long as DCS picked one and stuck with it I'd be just fine with that. But even better would be they offer a pack of aircraft like the c101 release. That's beyond hoping though.
  6. Thanks for finding that cichlidfan. Not that VEAO is the best example because they don't have access to the aircraft in England and they have stated they need access to airframes. VEAO are doing a Typhoon..someone should tell them EF2000 already did it ;)
  7. As a retail product developer I do it because I know I can do It better and to a higher standard than the other guy can. I also do it because I can see there is a large following for the aircraft just waiting in the wings. Plus I can charge for it whereas the other guy can't. And a company like ED could use it for ANG training contracts here in the US.
  8. What is the supposed risk? I don't recall VEAO mentioning the Viper Thanks Sith
  9. None of those threads give a good reason. And no I don't think the risk is too great. The reward might be too great but the risk is questionable.
  10. F16?? None on the Horizon??? Seriously??? This gets brought up all the time in other threads, but I actually want an answer to why there is no F16 even on the horizon! It's the most widely dispersed western aircraft in the world with the flight manuals and charts strewn all over the internet! People are making accurate advanced flight models for it as a hobby for goodness sake! BMS is a terrific sim, if you can get past the horrendous graphics of yesteryear and the systems of a amalgamation of a block 40 and block 50 jet. Imagine the financial windfall the first 3rd party to do it would have if they did DCS: F-16-50CM..... Just blows my mind that not one of the third party developers is doing one. My fingers are obviously crossed that some hero developer is working on one undisclosed in the background until they have a product worthy enough to show on the forums. They have a whole customer base sitting at BMS right now! I'd just like to hear some decent reasoning and logic. Is it because BMS did it and is actively doing it? Is it because it's been done before? Do people think it's a tired subject? Is it because it doesn't land on a boat? Is it too cool for this sim? Will there be too many dos gringos posts accompanying its release? Seriously what's amiss?
  11. It was stowable. Why not implement it like BOS where when you change flare colors you have to "take" it out out to reload the new color then put it back...so you could then leave it out if you wanted and then clear panel view
  12. After =FoReIgNeR= posted about temps I figured that was the issue even though on departure my temps were within limits. After careful evaluation it was an overheat issue. But I was using the radiator handle in accordance to the overlay text (or whatever its called, where you hover your mouse on an object and it tells you what it is). This is backwards on the aircraft. I don't know any German and if I move my mouse over ZU it says that is radiator open versus AUF. I still don't know German so is the handle backwards and bugged or just the overlay text? Can someone else confirm this or is it already known? Thanks =FoReIgNeR= for your help.
  13. Yes to both...it will stall in auto or manual...radiator set to open or auto...both stall.
  14. Im just curious if anyone else is having this issue. i can not keep the engine from stalling on departure from the cold and dark start mission. i have tried everything from manual prop at 1230 no flap..12 oclock prop and flap and vice versa with a manual prop...1.35 ATA...full power...auto prop...it all ends the same. Engine dies either on the runway or around 200ft agl. But if i try the takeoff mission i can throw anything at the engine and the engine will never seize. Full power does nothing to the engine...but i slowly increase power on the cold and dark mission and no matter what the engine will seize. Ive let the aircraft warm up...ive followed the checklist although brakes alone wont hold at the mentioned run up RPMs. Anyone else experiencing this?
  15. Any thought of releasing a modded right throttle for the warthog with that slew control stick? So sick of the half a**ed little nub...
  16. Distances in the time to climb charts in the manual are measured from a standing start (you have to factor in acceleration time, e.g. you're not travelling at 870kph for 4 minutes 10 seconds, because you start at 0kph).
  17. You should fly the A-10 at full power all the time in combat. The TF-34s are de-rated to do just that. Thrust levers full forward does not mean your commanding 100% rated power out of the engines, your just commanding as much power as the de-rate allows. In a dive the rule of thumb is if you're in a dive of less than 30 degrees you do it with the thrust levers stood up, or half power. Greater than 30 degrees is done at IDLE thrust. You should NEVER use speed breaks setting up an attack run. Speed is life especially in the Hawg, and you'll need it to produce an effective SEM after your run is complete. And yes, all the SMEs that used to answer these questions in the thread are currently banned.
