  1. That is why you don't want to excide 1000ft/m vertical speed, than you don't get VRS under 40 Knots, and you don't have to get out from it :smartass: Faster than 40 knots and you can descend as fast as you want, but under 40 knots you have to rise your nose, and increase collective constantly watching your VSI if you stay, say, around 500ft/m there is no way you can get VRS. Once you learn that then it turns out that VRS becomes really rare occurrence in Huey. Recently I read in description of Aerosoft Huey that real one does not suffer from VRS, then a read comment from fjacobsen that real pilots claim its really difficult to get into VRS. And now that I think of it, you would have to be mental to descend at VRS friendly speed (close to or over 1000ft/m) so close to the ground that there is no longer enough time to recover from it. It must feel like free fall. SFC Tako I finally got some time to see your video. Nice control! Damn You like the vortex so much:P When I was starting to fly I was more on the care full side. Because game reload time was piss'n me of, so I tried not to die to avoid it.
  2. I can't Watch your video right now, but for me most importand piece of information was that you should not descend at more than 1000ft/m at your aproach, other wise you just knock on VRS door.
  3. Thanks for great reply, thats exactly kind of moding I like, are you using full range of x 52? how about curves? I preffer to have everything on flat.
  4. Well your brain will sure hate idea of using your legs at first, but its no reason to stop flying now :smilewink: For me, when I changed from twisty handle to pedals, my legs constantly were choosing opposite direction of what I meant:huh:
  5. Hey! First of all save some Money for pedals. Fro me they made huge difference, you simply have one less thing to do with your hand. Ch pro pedals are cheap used, and Work great with helicopters if you mod them just a Little (I will make an video tutorial soon). Second importand thing esspecially if you are using twisting handle is to relax your hand! Dont hold the stick like you are about to die, it makes flying much more difficult. Just relax your muscles. Watch out for birds:P
  6. He is coming with EDGE
  7. Thats just Wow:thumbup:
  8. Thanks everyone for reply! Now I have to switch in to wife persuading mode I guess :music_whistling:
  9. Hello! I have an Ati 6990 which is a decent card, but only when crossfire works. As for now DCS is pretty much unplayable for me. But since EDGE feels like it will be released within next 1~2 months? I don't know if I should wait for Edge and possibly Crossfire support, or buy a GTX 780 now. (That's the card I'm thinking about) I would be glad to hear some advice. As I would rather avoid buying a Graphics Card and maybe invest in Trackir instead. (Money is short). Cheers Pilots!
  10. Strafing run ended up without tail.:pilotfly:
  11. Well, I have some experience with Fanatec, and it is pro level racing gear. Especially club sport series. And as far as I know Fanatec there is probably hal sensor in stead of pot. So I'm sure that it's precise as hell. One would have to replace spring with for example shock absorber. That should feel pretty good I guess.
  12. cichlidfan Have you got my private message? Because it looks like it haven't been send.
  13. That's exactly why I decided to write here because I found some cheap unit on Ebay, but also heard that Saitek tends to be dodgy.
  14. Hello everyone! Well right to the chase: I'm thinking about buying an Throttle quadrant from Saitek and using it as Huey collective. My idea is using Throttle quadrant turned sort of backwards so its more like an actual collective. Does any one think its a good idea? Any better suggestions?:helpsmilie: Cheers Pilots! Ps. Another idea could be Clubsport Handbrake from Fanatec. What do you think?
  15. Just found it on Youtube: http://youtu.be/JBMM_Ux7Dik Enjoy :pilotfly:
  16. I'm sorry that I misunderstood you. I totally agree with you on that! I spend hundreds of hours playing driving sims and this same applies there. FFB Wheel is supposed to substitute "butt sense". The problem with chopper is that you have to feel forces in all directions where in car sim left and right is enough.
  17. So, knowing that and having flown actual Huey, would you consider DCS Huey realistic? Because this is whats most important for most of us.
  18. Thanks for reply. Only other drawback I could think about is that DCS hates every computer on the planet
  19. Thanks for Reply! I see, that means that they just took a shortcut. :)
  20. Deer Belsimtek! First I would like to say that I love your work. I am not a real pilot, so the following question is being asked just out of curiosity. Well, yesterday I tried UH 1 by Aerosoft in FSX and it felt awfully unrealistic. But what got my attention was what they wrote in description of this add on. "...Please note that vortex ring state (VRS) is NOT included because the Huey does not suffer from this dangerous condition." http://en.shop.aerosoft.com/eshop.php?action=article_detail&s_supplier_aid=11333&s_design=DEFAULT&shopfilter_category=Flight%20Simulation I would like to hear your comment about that. Best Regards!
