  1. Ok, so the trick is to avoid the F10 as much as possible... I'm finding that lately, even in single player - which may rule out lag being an issue - is that the game stutters, or even "freezes", for as long as 5 min. By that point I "C-A-D" out of it and try again... would that be to the excess graphic settings? I thought with the system I've put together, that there would be sufficient horsepower to handle this simulation with everything maxed out..
  2. No further responses? I'm the only loser experiencing this phenomenon? Are the attachments not showing for anyone else?
  3. Here's my in-game settings...
  4. Well, "Poonteen" is the delicacy of yung'uns us Canadians save for export, seeing as a lot of people everywhere else would eat anything. "Poutine" which is saved for domestic use only, is the art of creating the most beefy tasting gravy, topped with the richest, strong white cheddar cheese melted on the the best of deep-fried potato fries. This provides only the best artery-clogging goodness that beats out even the best of American dishes...
  5. Ok, so pictures didn't copy through link... let me see if I can figure this out.. ok, edited the link to eliminate the "" part, but doesn't show the picture as desired... Last Edit - at least the link takes you to the image - is this how this website prefers it? seems others can post the picture in their thread... still trying Ok, look at that, got it to post the actual picture.. So again, if anyone knows why this happens and how to stop it, please advise - I just watched a 1945-era train transit through the water playing a Normandy mission...
  6. [/img]No sure why this happens, perhaps someone with similar occurrence could point out cause... Windows 10-64 bit, i7-4790 4.0 GHz, 16 GB ram, 1080TI with latest drivers 1st attempt to link from Google Account, "Photos" - hope it works... Ok, was advised no-one could see the pictures - weird, cause when I look at my own post, I could see it... But thanks - I followed your instructions, hopefully others can see the attachments
  7. It took about 3 weeks, but they sent a replacement circuit board and the throttle is up and running. Seeing as my warranty period runs out this coming September, I hope it lasts longer than the original. :joystick: :pilotfly:
  8. I'll tell you one thing I've found. When the throttle quit on me, i figured I was done interacting with DCS for a while, but then I remembered I still had my Saitek Cyborg stick. So I disabled the twist in the Options axis and kept using my saitek rudders. What a joke! I had such a hard time maintaining some semblance of control of the Huey. Yes the stick is fairly old, but man, can I tell how much a difference quality makes! I know the TM Warthog is an expensive piece of hardware but it is well worth it if you wish to get the most out of, and enjoy the time spent engaged in DCS or any other sim. Now I remember how frustrated I was before I got the WH. The downside of course is the fact that there is an intricate electronic board involved and yes, they do fail. I work in commercial transport maintenance and I know first-hand that it doesn't matter what they are used for, smart devices can and do fail - be it NOx sensors in emission controls, turbocharger actuators, or even the engine controllers themselves can lose it. So I was not surprised when my throttle called it a day. My friend who I work with as well as fly A-10C missions with has informed me he's worried now his is gonna fail too (he's had his for a couple months longer than I). I told him if it hasn't, don't worry about it. If it does, now you know its repairable. I still think its money well spent!
  9. So I've joined the ranks... Seems my throttle has just failed (s/n: 19493). And right after I got back to being able to decently hover in the Huey! Shut down for the night, and next pc start up the throttle is dead. So I too went through the google search and did the boot loader and attempt to reflash but always failed with error code: "error: invalid memory metadata (code"0x00000012)" - whatever that means. I had bought the HOTAS set in Sept 2013, within a week, the Warthog Joystick had a failed button so was able to return it to Amazon and get a second set. Had updated the firmware on both to 11 (joystick) and 23 (throttle) at that time with no issues until now. I had them plugged into the front usb ports on my pc and as such would have to unplug on occasion to use the ports for other devices. Wondering if that affects the pcb? But here we are. Submitted the email for support highlighting steps taken. From what I've read - seems the answer will be a new pcb. $50 EURO is about $70 CAN according the the online conversion sites.
  10. Hi Habu, Thanks for quick response. In regards to flight numbers when picking from spectators into the groups, for example boar 11, boar 12 - when we are ready to taxi, calls to and from atc (as well as JTAC) refer to both of us as "boar 11", despite me being in "boar 12". Are we to treat the comms as flight leader simply speaks for both of us and we both do everything in unison? Not always practical when we're trying to land and ATC says "boar 11 orbit" or "clear to land", well, which one of us is being cleared and which is being told to orbit? No big deal, really - its all still enjoyable. Still have lots to figure out, though. We left the mission area to RTB for repairs and when returned to pick up where left off, was unable to make contact with JTAC, no matter which of us was trying to make contact. We could hear each other make the calls - just no response. But we don't know if its our lack of experience, or a bug. Again, no biggie...
  11. Multi-player teamwork Hi Habu, I've read through all 19 pages on this thread - I'll add my own input (limited in scope and capability as it is) - very good! That's an understatement, and multiply several times over... I noticed that the last post is back in August so don't know how current you are interested in bug reporting, but I'll add my own observations and hopefully there will be someone that could set us straight: 1) joining the flight on the ramp - my buddy will host the server on a dedicated computer, He'll join pig "11" or hawg "11", I'll join as "12". When communicating with tower, we'll both be referred to as "11", for example as we taxi to runway, we'll hear "11 unable to taxi" or "hold short" - usually if we're too close together while taxiing, or even as we radio request taxi to runway the dialogue comes up we're both "11"... 2) When we reach the IP, and get the call up from JTAC, the responding dialogue reads as "1 x A-10" instead of "2 x A-10" as expected when we're both in formation... 3) Who does the actual call to JTAC? Does "11" become flight leader and therefore do all the comms work and the wingman just follow along and participate in target elimination? I found that when my friend in "11" does the initial call-up, tasking is provided, if I call up afterwards, "no further tasking, have a nice day"... Again, great mission setup. I read the example trigger setup you posted near the beginning of this thread... way over my head! I salute you guys that can understand all this stuff. Its what gives these simulations their "realism" factor.
  12. Yep - that last worked. Definitely a PITA having to deal with "Administrator" stuff. When there's only one account on the computer - that aspect should be disabled automatically... Last night I found a long workaround by saving as "ServerA" to desktop, renamed to "Server" and cut/paste/replace back into position. But thanks for your last suggestion - I thought I had tried that route, but I guess I hadn't. Greatly appreciated.
  13. Running Win7 with Admin account (only account on this computer), tried downloading and using the Notepad++ program that was linked in the sticky regarding editing ".lua" files. When making the change (ie: setting terrain restrictions to "false" - then save, message comes up that "unable, check if another program is using the file." Ran taskmgr - verified that none of the BS or FC2.exe is running. Re-boot computer. Even had gamebooster running - all other processes shut down before opening the Notepad++ file, etc. In the Notepad++ program, found under settings the button for "UTF-8 without BOM" (whatever that means, but matched a comment made in the sticky...) so clicked on that the confirm proper encoding save... Tried again with plain ol' Notepad, ultimately says "Not Authorized". Didn't have this problem when running WinXP. Course no way I'm putting XP on this computer, lol. This is where I'm at. Further advice appreciated. (Also tried to shut down AVG anti-Virus through the Processes' shutdown button, but got "Access Denied!" So much for Admin Rights...
  14. Well, after trying the Notepad++ program - keeps asking if the file is open by another program, though everything seems to be closed. Any suggestions?
  15. Changing lua files Trying to reset terrain restriction to false, then saving - ultimately says "access denied". Running Win7, using notepad. All DCS:BS and FC2 programs fully updated. Any advice? EDIT: Well, duh! guess I should read the sticky on editing lua files first. Nevermind this post...
