  1. Let's not forget that overall, warfare is a very horrible thing. And in conventional conflict, civilians will suffer just as much as the belligerent combatants. This is unavoidable and generally considered "Collateral Damage." This is why most nations strategy for dealing with large urban areas is to either lay siege, or encircle and bypass. The cost of life lost in the fight for a major urban center in terms of combatants lost AND civilians generally makes no one want to deal with it. The juice just isn't worth the squeeze. There are obviously some exceptions, cities with major ports, major airfields, so on. However, the issue with cluster munitions UXO is a huge problem, and no one really denies it. In many combat zones today, the use of a cluster munition is heavily regulated. There has to be a target that A) Warrants the use. B)The use of the weapon outweighs the possible collateral damage. and C) Is not going to create large problems for friendly forces that are in or are going to enter the area. When I was in Afghanistan, if we wanted to call in an airstrike for let's say.. A Mk 82, we had to ensure there was no civilians within damn near a kilometer. Now, this is heavily reliant on ROEs. In the opening days of the Gulf War, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. Large portions of the country was considered a "free fire zone" This allows a belligerent to basically use whatever weapon they want, whenever they want, in whatever manner they choose. Generally this creates a massive humanitarian issue in the area, especially when dealing with COIN Operations. As far as the overall humanitarian effect of large scale conflict, that remains an unavoidable byproduct. With most nations doing what they can to mitigate, the advent of smart weapons, better training, and much higher accountability for their soldiers actions. The US also is pretty good at advancing doctors, mine sweepers, EOD, and other support organizations behind the front line to deal with civilian issues as rapidly as possible. Find the UXO faster, preventing it being lost to time.
  2. Aren't there some reskins for caucus map for Vietnameque feel?
  3. A tracer static effect would be wonderful. Both for AAA and ground to ground. I think this would be great for guys and gals making missions and they want a wide front ground offensive without the need for dozens and dozens of units and ammo resupply for them to continue to fire.
  4. Very well. That still just makes the issue with the FPS drop due to all the units
  5. Hey guys. Anyone here know of any tracer type effect for mission editing? I am trying to do a large front ground assault as a backdrop for a mission. I tried just having lots of invul units but they run out of ammo after around 5min.
  6. Weather can be heavily controlled through use of the dynamic system. Adjusting files after making the systems can create fronts and such. I did a mission a while ago that had a really nasty storm blowing in from the black sea, but once around 50-60 miles inland, it was calm skies with little to no cloud cover, but at the beach was sustained 75mph+ winds. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=178451 There is also a powerpoint or pdf floating around out there with step by steps. I will come back if I find it
  7. Okay braintrust! I am trying to set up MQ-9s as FACs or JTACs for my mission. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to set them, or any other air unit as FAC/JTAC. Ground units I have mostly figured out. Thoughts/Guides/Help? Thank you in advance ladies and gentlemen.
  8. I have tried on Caucus map as well. No joy, ideas?
  9. Good Afternoon! Love the Bug, but ran into an issue after the update today. *POSSIBLE BUG* F18C cannot communicate at all since update today. Have tried Cold start, hot start, partial start. Have ensured that Field is BlueFor, Has Supplies, and Proper Freqs set. Ground units present, ETC Cannot Talk to ATC/AWAC/Ground Crew/Flight Nevada TTR, homemade mission. Starting at Groom Lake. All other aircraft tested can talk to aforementioned units. (F15C, A10C, F-5E3, P-51, AV-8B) F18C Functioned correctly other than aforementioned issue. System Specs GTX 1080 x2 SLI Intel i7 - 7700k 32Gb RAM 4k Resolution
  10. I cannot rearm at all at Groom Lake. Friendly Air Field, ground units present. Total cold start. I have tried with no systems at + open can to no avail, I have also tried APU and Batt on. No joy. All other aircraft can, and have rearmed. I have tried to arm with same munitions already rearmed onto other airframes. It is worth noting, that I cannot communicate with ground crew at all.
  11. Yes, but, when is the next release?
