Well the obvious things are: - cranking - flying close together so F-15C's radar may only lock one of the jets in flight group - of course attacking from different angles and heights What else do you do? Whats your strategy?

Im not sure to what extend RCS is modelled in DCS. From my observations during online sessions with a pretty good wingman (also in the Mirage) that even when we are flying less than 100 feet above ground we still get tracked by F15Cs flying way higher then we. It also feels like ground clutter is almost none existing for the F15C. This is just my observation and I'm not saying that this is wrong are whatsoever. So please don't hit me. The point is that even when you hit the deck in the Mirage you get detected. Without massive Caucasus mountains you can only get close when the opposing pilot makes mistakes. While numerical superiority may work against Su-27, the F-15C can lock up to 4 targets at a time. So this will be really exiting. I really would like to work out some tactics and give them a try.

Absolutely awesome! Dear 104th and 51st, this was a great event and a full success. It was well organized and conducted. For me it was very exiting to fly with so many pilots and an awesome experience. Many thanks for that!!! I even watched the full stream afterwards not just to see why I had been shot down and to learn but also to enjoy the great commentary of Hook! Please allow me also to say that from my very personal perspective I found it a little sad that all these AMRAAMs has been fired. Most of them at a very large range and 4 or even up to 7 or 8 at a time. As a consequence there were almost no tactics involved. On the challenger side only vey few pilots adhered to the briefing given by Flame to patrol along the given points. Most of the pilots went straight to the bullseye. No flanking maneuvers from both sides. Very few attempts to sneak undiscovered to the opposing side. I guess this was anticipated by everyone as no one picked L-39ZA to fly. Even Mirage was suicidal. In fact everyone in a CAP role not flying F-15C or at least Su-27/Mig-29 weakened its team. At the end it was a question of missile range and felt more like a battle of missiles and not of pilots. I think by limiting the amount of available weapons there is a chance to see more tactics and close combat. For example each team is equipped with 120 AMRAAMs, 240 AIM-7s and unlimited AIM-9s (Russian weapons pursuant). However this doesn't make the event less successful as it showed the unique advantages of the jets as they are truly superb and unchallenged. Again I want to thank you so much for this event and all the effort you put into this. This kind of events are a great benefit to the community and invaluable! Thank you very much!! But its the same everywhere with all kind of products. Why are cars produced in Germany more expensive in Germany and not in the states with all the shipping costs add on? Why are pills most expensive in Germany compared to whole Europe. Simple answer: Because you can get the price.

Since last update of DCS Beta playing multiplayer and stay connected to the server is a random game. Some connection are very good while others disconnects during connecting, flying of a couple of minutes or after 1.5 hours. Ans thats on the very same servers on the very same day. Do anyone else experience this?

Great mod, awesome work. However I am tired of reinstalling mods after each update and want to have all clear and from one hand without risking incompatibilities. Downloading DCS again from the downloader takes too long to get a clean installation again.

Youre right. Server rules and mission design. As of now most of the server has all if not most airframes in the mission. Which is totally fine for me and great as you see all these great variance in DCS comming together and matching each other. However, when it comes to weapon load and not sitting in an F15 or Su27 you are very often dead. On one hand thats realistic as those fighters are simply at the top of food chain. But gameplay and fun lacks in that case. And yes, if youre not offering these jets you are having a hard time findind people joining your server. Balancing is always the toughest part. None the less Im really looking forward to the F-5E. Its iconic and a awesome addition. And if you get a kill with it its even more satisfiying.

Isnt it more the question what will you do on MP without radar guided missiles? The almighty F15 and Su27 are always there. :P

Name one company that made profit their first years. Not Microsoft, not Amazon and all the others. Tesla is expected to make its first profit 2020. Not to know if you are earning money tommorrow is day business for self-employed people. In terms of work life balance...thats a topic of its own. Just think of tax consultants working for one of the big four. But hey, if you love what you are doing and/or you made your decision: dont complain.

Interresting to see what people think things are "worth". But what is worth? On the consumer side: Worth (in terms of price tag) means a value someone is willing to pay. On the seller side: It's the value someone is willing to receive in exchange of something. For sure developers won't get below their break-even for an expected quantity of sold products. Profit is already within the price. And you can tell by the growing number of developers as well as DLC's that even USD 50 or 60 are enought to be happy. Profit doesnt come with low selling numbers but with quantity and the economies of scale are peerless with software. I wonder if there are any public numbers in terms of customer base and how often a module is sold in the average.

I am not sure whether this is a bug or normal. Axis movement of stick is boosted like you can see in attachment. Joystick is moved half way up but wings are fully deflected. The same is true for rolling input. Axis are standard configured meaning that half movement of joystick is shown as half input in config menue of Target. The same is true for axis config menue of DCS. May please anyone help? Txs in advance.

Beside to slew it a bit down Mig21 can not slew the radar to any direction. There are worlds between Su27 and Mig21. You cannot compare them in any sense due to different purposes and of course the decades between them.

Mig21 is designed to intercept high flying planes like bombers. Therefore radar can only look at the same level as the jet itself or above. This is an pic from Chucks guide to Mig21 which I highly recommend. Here you see what the radar is capable of detecting. Edit: Also be sure to select the correct radar mode for slow flying planes and helicopters. Otherwise you wont be able to detect them as well

Just fly 1500m or below and it can detect. :smilewink:

Not sure if this is the ultimate solution. On Nevada map I have seetings at hight with absolutely smooth gameplay. 1.5.3 goes down to 26 fps at ground. Are you sure that there is no potential from ED in terms of map optimisation? Is 1.5.3 now more demanding than 2.0? Thanks in advance.

Dont get serial Hey folks. I bought Nevada map September 11, 2015. When I am correct this includes both Red Flag campaings at no extra charge. Unfortunately I didn't receive any serial code for the A-10C campaign nor can I install it ingame. I might need some help, please. edit: F15 campaign now works, A10 not

yeah... No. It's not that im too stupid to place it somewhere or that buttons are hidden by the mouse cursor. It's that I'm too stingy to pay 160+ for a track IR headset. And until the Oculus comes out I'm using FaceTrackNoIR with an PS3 eye toy camera for 8 bugs. As this works pretty well during day time as light conditions are good the darker it gets the worse to headtracking. In the evening or at night head movement is detected where no movement has been and due to that it's very very very hard to hit buttons as mouse cursor moves along with head. So is there any file I may edit so mouse cursor stays where it was placed by mouse?
