  1. Good advice, but where should the MAP and blade pitch (RPM) be at when on final leg to the carrier? This is where I struggle massively; I seem to always come in too fast or too slow during the last few dozen feet before landing, always either ending up fast, at around 110kts, or too slow, at under 90kts. I'll try to correct last second with throttle, before hitting the deck, but that thing just yaws wildly left/right, depending on if I'm increasing or decreasing throttle. Anyhow, it's frustrating as hell lol! I can't seem to get the last leg down to where I can consistently land. I have landed and hooked the wire, but it's like 2 our of 20 times. I think I need to get the MAP and RPM setting dialed in during the final approach, as well as the 10 degree pitch trim, and that should get me on the deck safely.
  2. Yea, after checking my loadout, I had forgotten that the targeting pod was installed, that seemed to throw things out of wack. It wasn't really bad, but enough that it was a pain in the butt when not in AP. Thanks for the help @Scotch75!
  3. Hi guys, gals, I noticed that the Viper seems to need a lot of trimming while flying straight and level, at least for me. Even then, the nose will slowly go up or down, or roll slowly left right, regardless of trim settings. Anybody else have this issue? Might be my curves are set with sensitivity too high or something. I decided to check with you fine folks about this issue, as I just watched a vid where a F-16 pilot explains that he almost never used the trim hat, except maybe a little yaw during takeoff/landing, but never vertical trim. Anyhow, just wondering about this issue. Thanks and good day! DrDetroit
  4. No, in ME, select your plane, then in the right hand panel of the ME, select the comms tab (6th tab), and input the frequencies for channel 1-4. I use channel-1 for my flight. Channel 2 usually the Essex, and 3-4 for other flight or other airfields.

    Sound issues

Sound could use a little better mixdown, but it's not too bad. Although I do run all external sounds, like engine, environment, guns, ect through my THX external speakers at a pretty good volume (subwoofer included), and get the ATC, and other radio transmission through my headset. I don't usually run all audio through my headset.
  6. Not really. I did have my engine cut out once, but I had forgotten to open my cowl flaps and the cylinders overheated. I didn't notice the needle pegged to the right, deep in the red.
  7. Yes, the constant rudder trim is a pain in the butt, until you assign rudder trim to a button on your hotas . Then it’s not too bad constantly trimming the rudder. I noticed that trimming the rudder to dead center alleviates the aileron trimming as well. If I’m rolling to the right, I’ll check my rudder is centered first. Once rudder is trimmed, then I’ll move to aileron trimming.
  8. Hello, I'm reading there are Japanese ground assets that came with the F4U package; if true, where are they? I'm not even seeing Japan listed as a country. Thanks and good day! EDIT: Just found them. There is a "combat" button next to the country field. Press the combat button so it says "all", and there will be Japanese assets.
  9. I seem to get mine to bounce, unfortunately! I just bounced off the flight deck of the Essex! This morning, I landed so hard at Groom Lake it flipped !
  10. Interesting, there seems to be a lot of detail behind those panels that we never see from the pit. Wonder if everything is modeled, like the fuel tanks, fuel lines linkages, full motor, etc?
  11. Yea, taxiing is a mess. Toe braking is the only way I can get down the taxiway. The rudder steering seems very unpredictable; it kinda works, then doesn’t.
  12. Just watch your instruments; the alt, artificial horizon and attitude indicator, which tell you if you are ascending or descending. Plus don’t fly noe over the ocean, esp at night.
  13. That’s indicated air speed (IAS), not kts or mph. 250 IAS is more like 310mph.
  14. Damn!! That looks so nice! Great job @ac5! Can’t wait to load that instead of my beat to hell jalopy of a cockpit! The one we have looks like it’s 10 years old, when in fact it’s probably a few months old.
  15. I notice my toe brakes do not work properly or at all, not until I hit esc, go to keybinds and immediately exit keybinds back into the sim. Then they work as expected. Also had issues with tail wheel during taxi until I set rudder pedals to slider. Now they work as expected as well.
