  1. Tnx Art-J; and good to know that. S!
  2. Haha what a negative comment! :music_whistling: Sure mate, AI is very weak; fortunately next Wednesday we will host a 6vs6 (all human) dogfight mission=> http://www.ecv56condor.com.ar/Foro/viewtopic.php?TopicID=45642 MiG's vs Sabres...i hope i don´t get killed too much, and sure, you will have that video too

New video added "Intense online battle vs 3 Sabres - FULL FIGHT" (message #25) October 6th . New video added "FURBALL! - 10 kills at <51> Korean War server" (message #26) My squadmate ECV56_Caje and I went against 7 AI planes (4xF86 & 3xP51D) cause we wanted to practice some teamwork coordination and also deflection. I had some easy shots on target fixated AI, a couple of good deflection ones and a bonus track at the end which i like!. BTW: AI is VERY weak, we set all 7 planes to excellent skill but it was not a match at all and we never were in risk  Make AI more challenging please!
  4. You were spot on! This was the issue, now is been solved so tanks a lot  Now, final thing. Do you know the right way to save my custom numbers? I mean the proper size and format? I've tried to modify the default ones (a .tga file) by erasing little parts in photoshop, but when i save the file and go to the SIM those areas are shown white, not transparent. Is it some alpha issue? How could i solve it? Check number tips here: Thank you!
  5. Thank you very much DeJohn. I will give it a try again and come back to let you know the results. Thanks!
  6. Hi all, i wonder if you could help me. I'm skinning a MiG-15Bis. What i want to accomplish is doing the main paint, and let the serial number area just blank so when i fly with my squad mates we don't have to download each other skins, but just one skin so numbers are added by Mission Editor. Now, default numbers for russian MiG15 are too big, and when i try to edit the description.lua in order to get the numbers from another skin with its own nomera.dds -or tga- i just get a big orange box instead of a number. For example, two lines from the default description.lua which works fine: {"MiG-15_MAIN_N_R", 0 ,"MiG-15_176GIAP",false}; {"MiG-15_MAIN_N_R", 2 ,"MiG-15_SPEC",true}; {"MiG-15_MAIN_N_R", DECAL ,"Mig-15_nomer_",true}; Then i want numbers to like the ones in default Pepelyayev skin (Belsimtek). So then i add that nomera file to my custom skin folder, and edit the description.lua this way: {"MiG-15_MAIN_N_R", 0 ,"MiG-15_176GIAP",false}; {"MiG-15_MAIN_N_R", 2 ,"MiG-15_SPEC",true}; {"MiG-15_MAIN_N_R", DECAL ,"mig-15_nomera_pep",true}; Well, it seems is not working; is it possible to do something like this? So far i just get a horrible big orange box  Thanks in advance guys!
  7. Hi guys! I used to skin for another sim and i'm doing my first steps in DCS. I'm interested in aces from 324th IAD like Kramarenko and Pepelyayev. The following screenshot is from Sergei Kramarenkos's #729 (176th GIAP) skin which is WIP, still needs some weathering and few details, but already has the red box on the nose and corrected markings without white paint in the background, and also without plain colors on roundels; they have little cuts instead, as they were IRL for that unit during some months of 1951. If you are interested i will also make serial number #325 from Yevgeny Pepelyayev and some others. I LOVE THE MiG-15bis! :pilotfly:
  8. Hi all, i keep seeing posts in forum from people not being able to start this bird so here is my little contribution. Some videos out there are outdated and won´t always work. There is one procedure that is always going to work under this version, but you have to follow it step by step, in the exact order shown here don´t get too creative please :smartass: , just follow it: Start up procedure 1. Turn generator ON (right switch panel) If you turn more switches on at this point, sometimes will probably not start up in multiplayer. 2. Ask for ground electrical power (Comm menu=>F8=>F2=>F1) When is ON green lights from landing gear will show up. Time to go to step 3 3. Turn ON the following 4 switches from left switch panel: ignition switch, instruments light switch, fuel transfer pump switch, fuel booster pump switch 4. Remove engine starter cover 5. Make sure your throttle is all the way down (idle) Press engine starter and keep it pressed until you hear engine starting noise (2 seconds approx). RPMs will increase (check gauge). 6. At 600 rpm open fuel shutoff valve at 50% (pressing HOME key just once). When it reaches 1150 rpm and stucks there, press rightSHIFT + HOME once to fully open shutoff valve. 7. Turn ON all remaining switches on the right switch panel. Battery included or you can also turn battery on after step 8, here is the same, not big deal. 8. Ask ground crew to disconnect electrical power (Comm menu=>F8=>F2=>F2) 9. Now you have your engine running and basic switches too; from now on just follow the procedure shown on many guides; close cockpit; pressurize it; open oxigen supply valve; set pitot hetaer ON; unlock landing gear, etc, etc. You have a good guide made by Charly Owl where you find pictures from all panels and switches and everything you need here=> https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/20586543/DCS%20MiG-15bis%20Guide.pdf And you can say thanks to Charly Owl here=> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=140213 10. Now thank me, worship me, invite me to your house, let me french kiss your girlfriend and above all buy me a TrackIR 5 cause i'm a poor bast*** from Argentina and can´t afford one. Cheers mates! And here is the short video for it. I hope you don´t mind my english and weirdness Have a nice flight! :pilotfly:
  9. First of all congrats YoYo for your skins, they are amazing, great work. I specially like the metal look and details on the Lim-2's. I was wondering if you could make (as i asked via inbox) an historical skin from 176GIAP/196IAP, at least a generic one in order to use numbers from mission editor. These are the ones i mean: And also the one from Fedorets, but this one is similar to your Mikhin skin Well, thank you in advance and if is not possible for you to make them, or you don´t feel like doing it, let me know please what base metal skin you worked with; i mean, is there any good template i can start from? Big thanks!
  10. Hi guys, i'm having the same issue than the one coldViper mentions here=> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=140213&page=8 (post #76) I hope he doesn´t mind me sharing those images here: Let me see if i get the switch (nº 6 on the second image) function right. The switch selects whether the fuel flows from the external tanks (droptanks) or the main internal tanks, right? The green light showed on the image turns on when you first select the external ones but soon goes off; is this normal? Another thing; the manual says that prior to detach droptanks the switch must be up (DT selected) but i can drop them without selecting them. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or i'm getting something wrong. :helpsmilie:
  11. First of all thanks Chuck for this great guide, it's been really useful. Brilliant work! And second, please PilotMi8 this is what i've been waiting for! I checked the russian manual and it has over 240 pages, looks amazing and extremely detailed. So PilotMi8, do you know when is the translated one going to be released? And please don´t answer "when DCS 2.0 is out" :D Thank you in advance.
  12. Voted extremely important I've just joined DCS World community. I'm a WW2 and KTO fan and if visibility distance is not improved i'l will have to go somewhere else and leave DCS World icon resting on my desktop.
  13. A newbie question regarding dot visibility Hello gents! First of all salute you all and sorry for my english as it's not my native language. Finally i have purchased my first DCS module, the MIG-15 which is one of my three all time favorite planes and i'm loving it so far. The only issue i have is that i can´t see any contacts while dogfighting, and being a fighter pilot (virtual ;) ) it's really disappointing not been able to keep in sight your enemy even at very close distances. I mean, i fly full real settings, no labels, no externals, i have a GTX760 (1920x1080) ultra graphic settings, and i have difficulties keeping my fellow wingman (he also recently purchased the module) in sight during formation (when he is beyond 600yds for example) unless i apply the zoom. And is not only me, cause he was having the same problem, specially when a plane is against the terrain. It was almost impossible for us to find each other while we were fighting 2xAI Sabres in a 2 square miles area. So, if we are struggling at so close range, how can we for instance B&Z a Sabre flying 3000ft lower than us? So, is there anything we can do to improve the dot visibility? Is anyone else having issues locating planes? If so, how can you dogfight in MP servers? If we can´t see planes during dogfights, then our MIG-15s will probably sleep in the hangar soon. :( I hope you can help us :helpsmilie: Thank you in advance! * Please if this is not the right section on the forum for posting this just let me know and i'll repost it somewhere else.
  14. IMO Mirage III would be THE best choice. For many reasons, not only because being from Argentina i grew up listening to stories about this plane in our Air Force, but also because it fought in many important battles, Yom Kippur and Malvinas 1982 (Falklands) just to mention a couple of them. Also it's a plane that has been used worlwide by many countries. I would love to see this plane in DCS and also A-4 Skyhawk, for the same reasons i mentioned before. ;) Low passes by Argentine Mirage III and A4's among others San Carlos Bomb Alley 1982 S!
