Blaze, first of all sorry to hear about 8gb issues, i have 16gb and so far so good. Second, please check the ACMI file i uploaded on last message from page #3 (msg #30). I disagree that bad BVR favours russian planes...AIM120 is not as useless as the ERs and still deadly at medium ranges if the foxed pilot doesn´t do everything right. BTW, ETs love flares as much as R73s. But anyway, ERs are my main concern. Check the ACMI please, it takes 6 missiles to finally hit an AI F-15 only loaded with aim9...all ERs miss in ranges from 40k to 13k.

Well, i have a couple of ACMI from quick BVR against F-15 set to excellent. Check the uploaded one how all 4 ERs miss it's target, they are launched from 40km, 30km, 20km and even the last one launched with very high energy at only 13 km goes for chaffs as soon as it leaves its pylon! Nonsense. (Btw, not to mention the first ET hdg straight for the flares even at high speed and just 9km away from it's target) On the second test i did same thing, the only ER that hits the F-15 is the one launched at 8km...short IR range. :huh: This really ruins any kind of BVR for the Su-27; so let's hope ED gets serious and fixes missile performance to bring it, at least, as it was on previous Hotfix 3. I have to agree with Santi; during hotfix 3 you could dodge an ER but within 20/15k range it became dangerous -you could still notch it anyway- now it's useless. Not to mention that IRs (ETs and 73s) love flares. Please give ERs at least it's hotfix3 performance.

Has anything being changed regarding ERs? They finally became a bit better on 1.5 but after last patch again they seem to go chaff hungry and almost useless. Will SU-27 riders have their ERs fixed for good? I will attach an ACMI file later on. EDIT: ACMI file uploaded in message #30

Does anyone know if DESERT & VIETNAM textures work with DCS 1.5? Has anyone tried it? I'd like to know that before risking messing up my install.

For me, MiG-21bis is the best accomplished module in DCS by far. Congrats to LNS for setting a great standar...i'm looking forward to more soviet aircraft from you and also waiting for the F-14 like a little child waits for Santa. S!

When i say i use the outer line of the sight when aiming means that when an enemy plane is maneuvering in front of me with certain angle, i don´t pair attention to the center of the sight. I draw an imaginary line fro his position to the center of the crosshair and as soon as the plane is about to reach (or when it reaches, depending on distance) the outer line i shoot with 37mm. Check my videos; you'll see this in many shots, like the one during the first kill in the "2vs2" video; or "the opportunist sneaks in"; or even in current video you can also see that at 7:14.

Hey i had you guys abandoned! But i came back to MiG-15 after a couple of months. I was struggling with my new X52 after having the Saitek EVo for 9 years, but still managed to get some deck level fight kills during fun furball at the <51> server.

Thank you kabalah. I've downloaded Visual C++ yesterday, still no luck. BUT, i just realize my windows is not SP1 but the previous one, so now i'm installing it and will let you know. Is the last thing remaining, i've tried everything. Nothing worked aand sometimes even went worse; for instance updating my gpu drivers just caused my DCS stable install to stop working. I had to revert to older drivers in order to get it working again.

Well, updated my drivers and now not only OB 1.5 is not working, but also my stable DCS version won´t launch and i get a "dcs has stopped working" error. I've done all possible things i could, and still nothing happens. OB 1.5 keeps giving me the message mention at OP.

Well, having a look at your specs i begin to wonder if our issue has to do with graphic card; we both have that card and a third user posted this: So, just a coincidence or there is an issue with GTX 760 and the OB 1.5??? The three of us also have 8gb RAM and w7 64bits

Finally i was able to install OB 1.5 thanks to the torrent, but: Everytime i run the .exe i get this message. I have at least the min. specs for the 1.5 beta (8gb, i3, geforce gtx760 2mb and dx11 support, w7 ultimate 64bits). I checked the internet about this kind of error and nothing really clear came up; just very specific errors like these with other applications.

Please :helpsmilie: I'm still unable to run the OB 1.5 I disabled antivirus and firewall. I downloaded the beta by torrent and installed it. After install when i run the dcs.exe as admin the bloody thing goes to the updater and instantly crashes again "dcs updater has stopped working". Whenever i try to go through updater it freezes/crashes. Tried the repair icon, same thing: bloody crash. Tried running the run.exe located in open beta folder; at first got the missing 120.dll; so downloaded visual studios 2013. I run it again but now get a message "the application was unable to start correctly 0xc000001d) It's becoming really frustrating, days trying to make it work/waiting for torrent, and still unable tu run the 1.5 beta at all. OS= w7 ultimate 64bit - i3 4150 3.50GHZ - 8gb ram - geforce GTX760 - SSD 256gb

Thx cOff. , amazing news ! I feel a bit frustrated right now. I read comments of people enjoying 1.5 beta or even having bugs with it and I'm not even able to install the open beta at all. As a grown up, i have learned to be patient anyway :)

I was thinking and sorry if my question makes no sense but: is it posible to install the open beta (the one previous to 1.5) without utilizing the updater? For example, Torrent? Or any other way? (like update to 1.5 from current stable version) so we who are not able to even get the open beta to work, have the chance to install it in order to finally install 1.5 afterwards?

I've tried this lokodehortaleza and still no solution. Re-installing windows for me is not an option. I hope devs or support team find a solution to it, i had no problems installing any other programs. So it's a DCS 1.5 thing. I hope someone can find a solution. Right now i feel like there is an amazing product inside the shop, and all i can do is some window shopping :music_whistling:

Anyone had any luck trying this? I've tried everything but this. If someone confirms it works i will try it, otherwise i don´t want to mess my stable install. Still can´t download the beta at all. Stuck at the beginning as i described on first post.

New video with kills against Warthogs, some with R3R. some with R13M1, and some with guns. Ninja missions that i enjoyed very much! GOTCHA PUMBA! :D

Ok thank you BIGNEWY. I hope you find the solution so we can install the beta and 1.5. BTW, is there any other way to install 1.5 without having installed the BETA before? Thx.
