  1. Yeah, but it's a strange file-type. and if I try to view them tracks in-game weird things happen! :P It is fun! Shame only how you can walk around and stuff with your pilotguy but nobody else can see you. I want helicopters coming and rescuing me after I've ejected over enemy territory! :(
  2. I couldn't wait for multiplayer cockpits anymore, so after tagging along in Juhuja's Huey, we devised a plan how to get me into the space behind the pilot in the F-15, and hilarity ensued! The plan was I eject and land on top of a building, whereby Juhuja park underneath, having first blown his canopy off. Then I simply jump down into the open cockpit and when I'm inside he repairs it and voilá, we have a Strike Eagle!!! It didnt work out so well. I don't know how to pull out the replay so what you get is a small gallery of photos I took at the results of our experiments! EDIT: Oops missed a few pictures of the strike eagle, two albums. Because lazy! http://imgur.com/a/pR4Kg http://imgur.com/a/oIX0w (Also sorry about the quality. Playing on a laptop since my stationary is broken ATM)..
  3. The U-2 :D No wait! think about it! Landings will be fun and taxiing in multiplayer bumping into everything will be hilarious! ALso you get to wear a space suit and stuff.
  4. Oh hey, Scorpion! Very nice flying, it's insipiring! Thats what I like most about the server it welcomes players of all skill levels.
  5. Virtual Aerobatics is a very fun server cause it allows casual players like me to log on, meet some strangers and do stuff like this! :D
  6. Yeah, spreadsheets sounds like a more meaningful way to compare since it varies so much. :P Raw numbers can be deceiving!
  7. SU-34 Ofcourse! Preferably with clickable toilet and kitchen. O_o
  8. Thank you for the answer! :D This to me indicates that the importance of t/w ratio is a bit overrated. Unless you use empty weight T/W since it doesnt tell the whole story about performance considering payload and stuff.
  9. Hello, Just want to say I'm new on the forum here and so I hope I put this thread in the right place! So, I was sitting on wikipedia comparing different aircraft specifications and what not. Specifically I wanted to compare some different thrust to weight ratios. :book: Now I see that there are a few different types of weights to consider making this tricky for me, since I don't know what they mean! There is empty weight: As I understand the weight of the aircraft as it comes from the factory. No fuel, no oil, no pilot, no nothing. Just air-frame, engine and avionics essentially? Maximum take-off weight: As I understand this is what you divide the maximum thrust at sea level with to get the T/W ratio. So is this with all the fuel and weapons on you can load it up with? Then an aircraft that can carry more weapons, even though it's lighter and has more thrust would get a lower T/W by comparison? Doesn't sound very fair! Another problem is the next figure, loaded weight. Now what exactly does this mean? Or, wait wait! Is this the true fully loaded configuration and the maximum TO weight is just theoretical? THen how do you work that number out? Ugh, as you can tell I am confused!
  10. I'll begin by apologizing for the upcoming big, nerdy and slightly patriotic post... :D At the tippity top of my wish-list is any generation of Saab's primary fighters, (JA 37D mostly though). Admittedly, partly because I'm Swedish, but also because I just adore Saab's history of independent and sometimes eccentric designs to meet the requirements of our traditionally small and neutral country. I think it'd add some spiciness to the DCS universe with some more exotic aircraft and air forces aswell. (But I can see why they might not be considered since not as popular). Basically, I'd pay many monies for any of these with blue and yellow, "Three chrowns" roundels! OwO Saab 21 1945 - 1951 Saabs first own fighter design! Designed during ww2 by request of the SwAF. Featuring a totally bonkers and awesome pushing propeller design, double tail booms and an early ejection seat. :D The logic being that it'd give unrivaled forward visibility and firepower being able to concentrate all the cannons in the nose. THe design was later discovered to fit well, (sort of), for the early jet era, and they were subsequentially turned into jetfighters in the late 40s, Saab 21R. R standing for "Reaktionsmotor" (Reactionary Engine). This was Saabs, and Swedens, first jet aircraft. Saab 29 Tunnan 1950-1976 "The flying barrel" Despite it's looks, proved to be very fast and agile. It was certainly comparable to the contemporary Sabre and Mig-15. Setting the world speed record on a number of occasions. It's the only Saab jet fighter to have seen actual combat, fighting under UN flag in the Congo in the 60's where it was succesful. Saab 35 Draken 1960-1999 Following new SwAF requirements of a fast, high-altitude interceptor that should also be able to operate from a secret network of small road-based airfields with hangars hidden deep inside the mountains. The result was this quite original double-delta, allowing both high speed and slow-speed maneuverability. This aircraft became an export success, being sold to 3 other countries aswell. (Okay, it counts as a success if you're a small company, backed by a small country!) Saab 37 Viggen 1972-2007 To replace the Draken, a totally new approach to meet much of the same requirements and then some. Featuring yet another unique design with Canard wings and an engine with reverse-thrust. It was in a way an early multi-role aircraft. Attempts were made to export it to other small countries in Europe in the 70's as the "Eurofighter" ( :D ). But everybody opted for the newer and more boring looking American F-16! :P Made in 4 different versions: AJ 37 (Primary attack, secondary interceptor), SH 37 (sea patrol, anti-ship attack), SF 37 (photo reconnaissance). But the best and the baddest was the JA 37, (Primary interceptor, secondary attack). Still very top of the line through upgrades when it was scrapped in 2007 because of budgets.. :( My absolute favorite fighter. So big, badass and cool looking! Designed to fly radar-silent, at tree-hugging altitude at speeds well above mach 1, guided towards the enemy intruders by fighter command with sophisticated data-links. Then, when within range, pop up from no-where, climbing with lightning speed, (Viggen = Swedish for "Thunderbolt"), and fire all the Skyflash missiles and quickly RTB to rearm! plis plis plis can we have in DCS? What about Saab 32 Lansen, you say? 1956-1997 We don't talk about the Lansen. 1/3 were lost to accidents. o_o
