  1. Yes, but if I reinstall DCS on another folder, how can I be sure that DCS doesn't put back the "saved games" folder again in my administrator folder (which is read only) and not in my CHDT folder (which is readable). Why did the last DCS patch put these files in my administrator folder ? I can imagine that pre-patch, those files were simply in my CHDT folder, as I had no problems.
  2. I'm administrator and everytime I wipe the "read only" from my Users folders, the "read only" get back. Other usual methods already tried, without success.
  3. Ok, it's my whole Administrator folder which stays read only and it's impossible to change it. Is there a way to force the game to put the DCS folder in my CHDT folder (which is not read only) and not in my Admin folder?
  4. I think I've found the problem. The DCS folder in my administrator folder stays "read only", even if I modify the setting. Does someone know how to force the "read only" setting to get out ? PS: "Attribute Folder" soft does not work. Under security tab, I'm proprietary of the folder. But this damned folder DCS stays "read only".
  5. Ok, thanks guys for your answers. I think the only solution for me is a complete reinstall, what a pain with my slow connection !!! I will use Revo for that (quite competent soft for desinstalling all the files), but are there some hidden files I must especially look after to be sure everything is really gone ?
  6. Here's the track: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=41405994762543955812 PS: I even deleted the files in my "Saved games" folder to let the game create other files. At first start of the game, the assistance was set by defaut at 100. I put it back of course to "o". Without any effect. For some reasons, I imagine that on some configs the aids stay at "100" even if one set them at "o".
  7. Where can I send a very short track: Hot start, immediate full throttle, no trimming at all, I don't even touch the stick, just a little rudder and I was in the air without problem. And in the air, I could climb immediately at a very high angle, even with a low speed and in this attitude, brutal changes of throttle give no effects (in real life, it should have put the aircraft almost on its back with a loss of control, or at least, with a very dangerous attitude). Of course, full "simu" with no aids. Believe me, the difference is so huge from before the patch, that something is broken at least on some configs. I've no problems to believe that some guys have no trouble, so guys with no trouble I ask you to accept that something is wrong for some other guys.
  8. Thanks for the info. So, no aids are "on" on my pc. And I'm not a fool. I play sims since the first day of IL2 launch. I perfectly remember how the Mustang was three months ago. And I see how it is now, at least on my config. Torque is simply gone (very minimal to be precise).
  9. For a test, I deleted my config files and did a "torrent repair". Nothing has changed, at the start, the Mustang can be flown almost like an helo, suspended at its propeller, without any torque effect. I don't know what to do ! Where can I check manually in the config files if thoses aids are "on" ?
  10. "And, are you sure you're not using takeoff assist or auto-rudder ?" Sure. But it looks like the aids are "on". Are they some config files I could delete to get them "new" by repairing the setup ? PS: I've no other version of the game. And I've not played since the past three months.
  11. "They absolutely changed something." (1) I fully agree. Pre-patch, the DCS Mustang was perfect at start, as "sim" as it can be. Post-patch, the DCS Mustang screams "game" and it's no good. From a Le Fana de l'Aviation article, Steve Hinton speaking from the Mustang at the start: Rough translation: ++++++++++++++++++++++ For the novices, I can say that the acceleration forward is at start more like a F1 than a 2CV, now you are warned... 2000 rpm with brakes on, you push the throttle VERY GENTLY up to 55' (max, 61') and at the same time, you have to push the rudder FULL RIGHT to counter the first and the second engine effects, that means the helicoidal wind and the disymetric traction, which move the aicraft FURIOUSLY to the left. As you have just delivered about 1500 PS, the NOT VERY HAPPY fuselage firmly wish to go to the other side. So you have to counteract this with the stick to the right for FIGHTING against the engine torque and to help the left landing wheel which is so FURIOUSLY pressed. At 110 km/h, a light push on the stick put the aircraft in flight line "low tail" for getting the take-off angle. But now, the 200 kg gyroscop what is the propeller turning at full regime makes the aircraft fly to the left, so rudder to the right..... ++++++++++++++++++++++ Pre-patch, the DCS Mustang was at start exactly like Steve Hinton describes it, a furious beast to master and it was cool. Post-patch, you can apply immediate full throttle with an untrimmed aircraft and get up in the air only with a minimal rudder input. It does not look right and it's boring. Please, DCS, have a look at this ! (1) about changes, I noticed on another topic that the 109K jockeys noticed too a change, but a change to a much more hard start than before. So, probably "something" has changed with the patch.
  12. "Is it easier to take off in than the first time I tried it? but so is everything else I own." Not exactly. It's easier to take off now than two months ago when I had difficulties to start without breaking an aircraft each three attempts. And I've never get good at anything without practising.
  13. Same experience like Ewertsp, the start needed some more rudder (but not that much), but still it looked to me too much easy (when compared to the situation prior the patch), with only minimal torque. It's no more needed to keep the tail low until some speed has been gained and before the patch, it was obligatory. The idea that I've become so good seems unrealistic to me ;-) PS: I've not the 109 or the 190, so I can't compare.
  14. Thanks :-)
  15. It's quite possible, I begin to think also the problem could be on my computer.
  16. Yes, I'm in the "P-51D", without any aids. Btw, when in flight, no problems, the aircraft is still a beauty :-) PS: I've had a very strange problem when starting the game for the first time after patching. When pressing F2 to get an external view, the game get accelerated. And I cannot change this in the setup. And suddenly, I don't know why, I had the external view when pressing F2 !
  17. So would it be possible that some of us have a problem with the config files being stuck in easy mode with assistance ?
  18. Before the patch, there was even the need of training videos for flying the Mustang: http://escadrille-manticore.forumactif.org/t14-apprentissage-du-p51-d-tf51-en-video#16 I had to follow such videos, because everytime at start I broke the aircraft. And now, after three months of not using it, I can put full power and go. PS: another thing, before the patch, just for rolling the P-51, I had to use the brakes. Now brakes are no more needed to roll !
  19. Is it possible now to replicate that in the sim... ... that means, full power with bad trimming = aircraft out off the runway or even on the back. Before the patch, the Mustang had to be flown at the start "by the book" and I loved it. Now, after the patch, no need of anything, full power and go ! I can accept that the FM's have not changed, but something has changed, for instance where's the torque gone ?
  20. But the torque, where's the torque at low speeds ? Now, at start, I can make the tail high immediately without problems. Is that right ? Before the patch, such a mistake meant immediate big problem.
  21. I noticed also another thing. At the parking, when the brakes are on, the aircraft is much less nervous than before the patch, when one push the throttle. The tail get up less violently and with much more power needed to get an effect. It looks like things have been "smoothed". Also before the patch, when the aircraft began to suffer dangerously from the torque, you were almost kaputt in any case. Now, every mistake is very easy to control and never fatal. I just hope I've some problem with my install files !!!
  22. Yes, full sim mode, no assistance at all.
  23. Talisman, impossible, I cannot be that good :-) No, there's a problem, either with my config files or it's something else. To the old simmers, now at start the DCS Mustang flies almost like the IL2 P-39, when it was broken after some patch. Ewertsp, I agree with you, no noticable differences in flight, but a drastic difference at take-off regarding the torque.
