  1. Hello folks, After upgrading to Windows Vista 64 Ultimate a problem I didn't have before has appeared. When I join a multiplayer session as the client the cockpit sound is ridiculously loud. It seems that there's another aircraft's nozzle right on my face. Even after starting engines or taking off the problem does not disappear. When playing a single player game or when I am the host I do not encounter the problem. It only happens when I join a multiplayer session as the client. Is there a fix to it? I have an Asus M4a78T-E as my motherboard and my onboard sound drive is a VIA High Definition Audio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Thanks guys. I used the profiler and was able to configure the keys. Thanks. =)
  3. Hello guys, I am trying to program my X52 Pro within Lomac and it's has become a nightmare. I am about to toss my X52 out of the window. Every time I press the "change" button to assign a new command to the joystick, buttons 33 or 34 selects it. Under game controller options in windows these two buttons show up as being the two silver buttons (START/STOP and RESET) on the base of the trhottle quadrant. However, under windows they are not being pressed whatsoever. Where is this stickyness coming from? Is this an issue with Lockon? Is there a way to fix this? I'd like to use the game to configure my controls. Is this possible with this X52 Pro?
  4. Hello guys and thanks for the suggestions. I have tried D3DOverrider which comes with RivaTuner. It works beautifully with Black Shark, but it simply doesn't work with Lockon at all. =( I have also read about ATT. I have downloaded it, but unfortunately it is not compatible with Windows Vista at its current state. That leaves me with no other alternative, and it's really sad because it's a sim I love flying. I didn't use to have absolutely any problems with Lockon before upgrading my system. I now have a system that is 10 times better than my old one, I bought a TrackIR, X52 Pro, but I can't use the sim properly because the image tearing is simply killing me. I can take low fps. That's tolerable. But the tearing is simply awful. I turn my head a little bit to one side and the whole image seems to tear apart. If someone could come up with another suggestion, I'd be so glad. Is it even possible to enable VSync while using Vista 64 Ultimate with Lockon? Has anyone managed to do it? I ask this because I imagine a fairly large number of users here have upgraded their systems mainly to play Black Shark, and also added more Ram memory. With that in mind the only OS that could serve you right is Vista 64, as XP 64 is too cumbersome to begin with. Now, all these people that have upgraded could not fly with that much tearing. They would've posted questions in this forum asking for a way to enable VSync. However, there are almost no posts for this matter, which leads me to believe that either people tolerate the immense tearing or there is indeed a way to enable it. Well, it only makes the more puzzled. =( ==>EDIT: YEY!!! I got it working. Thanks to Kaspersky and its intrusive behavior. I forgot to turn it off before launching the sim and it gave me a pop up asking for permission to let Lockon run. As soon as I alt tabbed out of Lockon I heard the little chime from D3DOverrider telling me VSync was on. All I have to do now is Alt Tab out of Lockon and bingo! VSync is on!!! =)
  5. Hello folks, I am trying to enable Vsync with Lockon, but I haven't been able to do that despite using several different softwares. I have a Radeon 4890 and I have tried enabling it through ATI control panel, but that doens't do anything. I have tried using D3D Overrider (which works beautifully with DCS Blask Shark), but that is another no go. Is it possible to enable Vsync in this game at all? I am using Windows Vista Ultimate 64. I get a tremendous amount of tearing to a point that it starts to bother a lot, and vsync is an absolute must have. Thank you for any help.
  6. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I didn't know Crimea was actually floating over water. I've been flying this sim for a few years already and never had I heard of it. Very interesting. It makes all the sense in the world why very high water quality will simply decimate your fps's. I have tested it with water on medium and the fp's indeed improve. I was hitting 40ish while looking outside and in the cockpit, and over 200 when looking at a clear sky. But, still, the difference is quite astonishing isn't it? I mean, when playing IL2 at SpitsX109 MOD with the AAA mod and everything cranked up at a 40+ players server in one of those 4.09 maps with huge mountains and very detailed terrain, I usually get fps's around 70 when looking out of the cockpit and if I look directly into the sky it rises to about 90. A difference, which, while being significant, is not so mind-boggling as in Lomac. Don't get me wrong. I am not criticizing the game or anything, it's just that for such a big difference I could think that something wrong was going on; with the game or with my puter. Armed Assault also runs as smooth as baby butt with everything cranked up to the max. I was indeed very surprised to see low fps's with Lomac, a sim that I thought I'd get very smooth and uncompromised gameplay. Is this the same way with BlackShark? When I assembled this computer I was looking at a good Cost X Benefit machine. I think I was able to achieve that. The sims I am most looking forward to play are Black Shark, the future A10 expansion and Armed Assault 2; along with the old ones I already play. When it comes to Black Shark, can I expect poor performance or good playability? One last question: Are Intel and nVidia the best choices for playing Lomac and Black Shark? Did I make a bad move by choosing AMD+ATI? Thanks a lot for all the help. It has been very much informative. P.S.: I was able to get TrackIR 5 to work. I followed the tips found here in the forum which suggested deleting TrackIR.ini from the Lomac folder. It worked perfectly after that. P.P.S.: I am trying to force V-Sync in the ATI Catalyst Control Panel, but I still can't get it to work. I've set the "Wait for Vertical Refresh" for "Always On", but the game doesn't seem to abide by that. Is that a problem with ATI boards? :(
  7. Hello folks, I have been flying Lomac for quite some time and three days ago I bought a brand new system to go with it and play it with smooth fps's at high resolutions with all graphical settings cranked up. This is the system I am running Lomac at: Phenom X4 955 3.2GHz ATI HD4980 4GB DDR3 Patriot Viper I am using Windows Vista 64 due to the well-known ram detection limitation with 32bits environments. I am able to play absolutely everything I have at max settings with very nice fps's. I tested Armed Assault, which is a fps killer and I was able to play it at 1680X1050 (My native 22'' resolution) with absolutely everything (except anisotropic) to the max with 40-70fps. Before having this new computer I had an Atlon 3200+ and a Geforce6800XT and I ran it at 1024X768 with almost everything on max with an average of 30fps. However, now I am hitting the low 20's with this new configuration. I tried reducing the graphics to a lower quality and it does indeed vastly improve on the fps's. With "medium" settings I am hitting 50-60; but, still, shouldn't a system like this one be able to handle Lomac more than fine? I tried an affinity cmd file that I found at LockonFiles and that didn't improve my fps's at all. I am simply dying to be able to play Lomac especially now that I got a TrackIR 5 (which by the way doesn't work with Lomac either :( It does work with all the other sims I have and that support it) and got an X52PRO on the mail. :( I'd be immensely glad if some kind soul could shed some light into the matter, because I am completely in the dark. :(
  8. Hello Folks, I own a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick and I am having a problem that is bugging me a lot. Whenever I crash or eject and have to use the Crash Recovery thingy, I lose rudder control on my AC. It was as if it was no longer mapped and all I did was hit Crash RCVR. When I start back in the cockpit I simply have no rudder control in the joystick and have to use the keyboard for that. :( Has anyone ever had this issue? Is it possible to fix it? Thank you for any help.
  9. Thanks. =) Sometimes the most obvious solution seems too volatile to grasp. Cheers. Will do that. =)
  10. Hello, I'd like to buy Flaming Cliffs for a friend and send the order as a guift, so he can login with his own information and download the game. Is that possible? What do you guys suggest in this kind of situation, as my friend does not have an international credit card? Thanks for any help. :phone:
  11. Sooeet!!! Thanks EagleEye. :) ====================================================================== Now, please don't post that video or upcoming ones on Veoh... that site is also blocked in Brazil. =======================================================================
  12. I am watching the video and I have to say I am in awe. It's simply beautiful. I have one question though: That tuby thing on the nose of the Ka50 is the pilot tube, right? It has some fin-like structures that seem being deflect by the wind? What is the purpose of those fins? I can only imagine so much attention to detail that was poured into this sim to make it this good. Great job!!! :)
  13. Hello folks, Oh gosh thanks a bunch for all the links. It's funny how other people started their questions the same way I did. "Ok I hope this is not a stupid question"... Well, to say the least, all the help was outstanding. Got it figured out thanks to you guys.
  14. Hello folks, I have a rather simple question. I was reading about flight maneuvers and there's a lot about how I should always point my "Lift Vector" here and there in certain parts of the maneuver. I know where the lift vector is when I am flying level flight, but I was wondering where it'd go once I rolled inverted. Does it still come out of the top of the plane? Does it continue pointing upwards? Or does it go like in the illustration bellow? Hope I am not sounding too dumb. It's just that every single picture of a "lift vector" I've found only showed it up to 60 degrees of bank or something like that. I could only find one that showed it during inverted flight, so that brought up my doubt. Thanks beforehand for any help. This should be a piece of cake for you top notch guys. :smartass:
  15. Wow... those are really nice suggestions. Will try them asap. Thanks a bunch ZoomBoy, WhiskeyRomeo and Brewber. I will try designating them as targets in the editor and I will also try to play around with the loop thingy. Thanks a bunch you guys... also keeping fingers crossed for a BS overhaul in the Full Mission Editor. As a newbie I am already encountering these minor setbacks. I imagine what you mission designer buffs have to come up with to get some of these fine missions we have in the internet for download to work properly. :book:
  16. Ok got it. Well, will have to use other targets on the ground other than helos then, as we can't have a FARP set up so they could take off and land far from an airbase. Hope these things get fixed on Black Shark though. It's kind of bummer to have the static objects playing a purely aesthetical role in the game. :(
  17. Hmm... interesting. So, it's a bug then I presume? :( Is there any workaround of fiddled settings that could be done? :smilewink:
  18. Hello guys, I am pretty new to FC and I have recently been creating my own missions. One think has struck me though. All the static objects that I destroy do not show in the debriefing page. In the debriefing I only have the weapons that I fired, but nothing is reported as destroyed. In one of the missions I was creating you were supposed to destroy some helicopters in the valleys near Gudauta. However, the destroyed hellos only appear in the debriefing as destroyed when they are not set as static objects. And here comes the other problem. You can only set the take off/land waypoint in an airbase and I am in the middle of the valleys, far away from the nearest airbase. So here goes my two questions: 1) Is it possible to have static objects be reported as destroyed in the debriefing, like helicopters, aircraft or buildings? --> This is not a problem for road vehicles as I can set a very short waypoint to the vehicle group and as it's not a static object I have them shown as destroyed in the debriefing page. 2) Is is possible to set the takeoff/land waypoints of a hello in an area outside the airfield, let's say the valleys where their makeshift base is located? I did search the forums for an answer to these questions, but I found nothing. If this has already been answered before and someone could be kind enough to point to that direction, I'd be very glad. Thanks in advance for all the help.
