*CONTAINS SPOILERS* I just ran this mission successfully for the first time, at least I thought I did. I took down the MiG-31s and returned to Claw to hear the BDA of target destroyed. I was following them as they turned to RTB and broke off when the pop up group of 29s turned up. My wingman got downed a few seconds before Berger. I successfully RTBd. *Spoiler below* I looked ahead to the briefing for mission 13 and saw Berger's death mentioned, so I guess that's a scripted event. Is losing my wingman a fail condition? I've struggled with this mission, largely because I don't know how to prevent the MiG-31s firing the R-33s at Claw. They are way beyond my range when they fire and although I'm close behind Claw (as urged) it's tough to get between them and I can't do it at all before the MiGs fire the R-33s. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Hope everyone is enjoying the day.

Not sure what you think is being missed, is it that they could be kids who are speaking impulsively in the moment? If they had called someone a name or sworn I might agree. This guy was talking about Heatblur’s Viggen the same way previously. Look back at the comment, it laid out an argument that went beyond “I’ll sue you”. I think the devs are entitled to do business in a place free from threats. I’m not saying automatically permaban everyone who does this, but that the Ts and Cs should make it an option.

I agree wholeheartedly. I have no problem with people airing genuine grievances, I certainly have, but at the point someone talks about potential legal action there is little good that a public conversation can do. I like that ED are upfront about this forum being a product forum. At the point someone threatens or refers to possible legal action against ED or any of the content developers I would love ED to say it is no longer appropriate to allow them to comment on this forum with potential pending legal proceedings and revoke their posting rights. Bah humbug.

I think the F/A-18 and F-14 are the first modules to come out with an EA access set by season rather than month, so perhaps this will be a teaching experience. Quarters aren't always great either, but when quarters don't fit I guess a month range might suffice. I don't ask facetiously, I know people in different places do sometimes have different ideas on seasons, but you see November as Winter, and if so, is that in place of Feb or Feb/Mar?

Agree on both, the speed of the 530 is great, should have mentioned that.

Bear in mind that both available air-to-air missiles aren't quite as good as the US ones. 530Ds are shorter range (40 km) than the AIM-7M (45 km) or the AIM-120C (55 km). The 530Ds are semi active (like the AIM-7) and require STT all the way to the target, meaning your RDI radar won't show you where other hostile aircraft are while you still have a missile in flight. The IR missile, Magic 2, is listed in the in-game encyclopedia as having a range (5km) less than half the AIM-9P (11km) and less than a third the AIM-9M (18km). I still love the Mirage and the aircraft's flight characteristics still make it great to fly air-to-air. The missile comparison is not in its favor against 4th Gen US missiles, but that simply means you must be the better pilot - and if you are, you will still splash your target.

Is there a way to get a report of friendlies positions from all friendlies themselves, AWACS or ABCC? At times it's tough to get radar hits on possible bogeys so IFF won't help, but visual might be enough for IR missiles or guns, provided you can confirm there are no friendlies in the immediate area...

Something that would make many missions more completable would be to have all subtitled speech logged as it is said. There are many occasions where I have received orders that are inaudible against the audio backdrop at the time. At the moment I'm working my way through the M2K's included campaign, and at times I am struggling with the accent. I mean no offense at all and I do quite like the French accent, but hearing words pronounced differently to what I'm used to in an already challenging audio environment make understanding orders a bridge too far sometimes. It would only be practical to do this for speech from NPCs and scripted speech from player characters, hence my specification of subtitled speech. Let's not wait until we have dependable Speech-To-Text before bringing this feature in! Comments welcome.

Is there a tool that lets you see the number of views a video gets within a specific timeframe? I worked out a way to narrow down the length of time before the comment from Cobra847 about the enhanced audio, but if there’s no way to tell how many watched it when it doesn’t answer the question.

Ah ok cool, thanks! Thank you too. Good to have confirmation. Alas, VF Satan’s Kittens no longer existed then but that’s ok. I didn’t think about it before now, but how awesome is it that they organized to have t-shirts with the logos of a bunch of different squadrons! Just one more example of their attention to detail I guess.
