  1. Gazelle´s won´t die Hi Baltic_Dragon, last evening I had another go on this mission after updates have been made. Unfortunately I cannot notice any change to previous version. 1.) Guided bombs do not track (I understand DCS related issue) 2.) Gazelle´s shot to hell and still alive ad2.) I chose via F10 a joined attack on the Gazelle´s together with the F-16. This time my attack came too late and the F-16 took down both Gazelle´s by themself - F-16 then started orbiting around. The Gazelle´s are similar damaged as shown on previous screenshots on this thread (main rotor off, tail off, Pilot left the helo - standing few meters away from the smoking pile of metal). I checked mission debriefing afterwards which show hits by missiles (and my AG Gun run´s) on Gazelle´s, further "landing of both helos" and then "pilot exited plane" notes. No comment such as "destroyed" or "crashed". I also reported via F10 as requested to bring in the Hawk´s but somehow from that moment with the Gazelle´s on the missions doesn´t progress. As this was my 5th or 6th attempt I returned back to base and modified the logbook file to move on in the campaign. I really like the ending with music and the end credits - quit emotionel :-) congratulations and thank you for this great experience
  2. If I remember correctly, the same happened to me as well because I flew at 4000 ft barometric. Flying 4000 ft AGL with radar altimeter solved it for me (or the other way round? can't remember exactly)
  3. *thumbs up* cheers
  4. Got it. have a good day
  5. Hello Baltic, Please advise if ED has released your update on the above matter already. I found no comments in the weekly update log. thx and kind regards BAE
  6. Hi Baltic, I started the campaign recently and went through Mission 1 for two times. I think I found a bug because of following situation: When smoke is reported north of Kobuleti I get the frequency for Ford 1 (2xHinds) on 144,5. After setting this frequency I get no more calls or can do anything via the F-10 menu. I think I should contact them on my behalf, correct? When reaching the site of smoke no missile is fired at me. I did several flyby´s on different altitudes but nothing happens. No sight of the Hinds also. After some time I return to the airport, land and get a mission success note. After checking you-tube I saw whatactually should happen. thank you, kind regards BAE :pilotfly: PS: I noticed Mission 2 starts without any radio check or chating at all. First time I get any voice overs starts when holding short at the runway for take off. Is this meant to be? I was a bit confused wondering If I missed something. I am used to some radio checks and chattering from your missions.
  7. great! Will give it a try as soon as I can :pilotfly: cheers!
  8. Compared to those 8 helicopters from a previous mission, these two here seem to be immortal. Each of those ate at least one missile and several gun hits. Looking forward to the fix and finishing this masterpiece of a campaign.
  9. I am fine when JTAC doesn´t work as intended. The A-10 will take care for them anyway, don´t they? but the Gazelle´s prevent me from succeeding the mission. They do not explode or whatsoever when hit and aren´t rated as destroyed. These pictures show what´s left of the Gazelles (hopefully the file upload works) [/img] btw: It is possible to get an IR lock with the MAGIC even when the target is downed. Haven´t tried on vehicels yet; sun is also a potent heat source :-)
  10. hi there, I am afraid Mission 15 is bugged as well. I flew it several times by now and checked the net for mistakes I may have made, but let me tell you: -) none of my GBU´s find their targets even though my communication with moonbeam should be find and JTAC confirm´s lasing and I follow the whole JTAC sequence. My buddy refrain´s from doing anything even though I do low fly by´s to make him see the enemies. -) When tasked to go for the Gazelle´s I choose "simultanious attack", the F-16 do their Job and I also managed to do some Magic :-). Unfortunately as reported previously here, the Gazelle´s get hit and land in the surrounding of the primary target. Then AG attacks with gun rounds but the Gazelle´s don´t explode. Main rotor gone, tail beam gone, smoking, penetrated with multiple rounds of the gun and so on but their status doesn´t change to "destroyed". Calling in REAPER doesn´t change anything because helo´s are down (at least on the ground). BUSTER informs me that still two Gazelle´s with Mistral are present. Hence no mission progress. At least my flying skills improve by repeatedly trying to fulllfill the missions here, but it´s annoying to spend hours and then get stuck in the air :-/ please check this final mission so I can bring this campaign to an end many thanks
  11. edit: Mistake as so often on the user side. There is no typo in the number lines. First coordinate is N 372... not 332 "I=7" not 3 in this case!! Then the coordinates point you correctly towards MAX. Unfortunately I still don´t manage to overcome those two bandits. Keep on trying :joystick:
  12. Finally passed previous mission and I am now challenged with this quest. First I thought I was wrong with the DRYAD but I also got N3327682 and W1161648, which is more thann 200nm away from MAX. Lucky I am my wingman gave me distance and bearing from bullseye. Unfortunately my wingman crashed and burned without any external force, just saying good-bye "I am out" or something like that (edit: Tacview showed that buddy crashed into mountains due to low level flight). So I had to go all by myself against the 2 bandits. The rest of the story is not very heroic. Have to fly it all over again :-/ but i like the raindrops at the beginning anyway.
  13. i noticed the same; any other flight on the persian gulf map works fine.
  14. possible attack strategy Hi everyone who is going through the "Gazelle hell". After several fails I made a training mission trying to find more effective attacks with a higher chance of survival :pilotfly: My findings where that the best chance of beating those little bastards was to shoot all Magics in a single attack run. Best results with an attack from above flying the same course, then locking the missiles on one after another. After the last shot I went full AB 90° up to get out of the line of fire. Another strategy was to do the same on low level flight which makes finding and lock easier but I never managed to get out of the danger zone :-) in time. good luck and don´t forget your stapler  BAE
  15. new bug detected Hi Baltic Dragon, thanks for fixing the take off bug; after several trials I now managed to survive the Gazelle hell. I noticed, what is possibly a bug, as it happened two times. After all Gazelle´s are down I got the victory message and order to RTB which I did. Only a few miles out of Nellis I got information of A-10´s going down one by one till the loss was so severe that the mission got ranked "not succesful". ... so once again into hell: Again fighting off the Gazelle´s as good as possible; this time I called the A-10´s via the F10 menu "winchester" and everyone called out "RTB". On the way back home I monitored via F10 and noticed that the A-10´s remain in enemy territory and keep on fighting either gazelle´s or enemy air defence (Roland it was I think). I then rushed back with full AB, made a harsh landing just to get the "accomplished" note in time. Obviously A-10´s do not RTB. kind regards BAE
