  1. Wind direction is irrelevant in regard to the indicated airspeed at which an aircraft will stall in unaccelerated flight.
  2. This is a very real bug. I don't know if it's because the ASI is a showing ground speed instead of airspeed, or if it's because the FM is using ground speed instead of airspeed to determine lift. But if you set a strong wind straight down the runway you have to maintain a considerably higher IAS with a headwind than you do with a tailwind when you're on final in order to maintain an appropriate glide path and angle of attack.

  4. Thanks guys. I just saw that thread. Not sure how I missed it the first time around. Seems likely that it's the same issue.
  5. Today on multiplayer: Cruising around 52000 feet, at about M1.1-1.2, with both a centerline fuel tank and wing tanks. Aircraft started to shake a bit, then went into an aggressive, unrecoverable roll. I hit the emergency jettison switch to drop my tanks, plane kept rolling. Turned off the FBW gain switch, still nothing. Full left stick did nothing to stop the roll, either. I'm guessing it had something to do with transonic/supersonic flight with wing tanks. The aircraft maintained approximately M1 all the way to the ground with speed brakes out.

  7. Something I found noteworthy about the R550 is that I was able to get tone and shoot down an incoming missile. I don't recall that being possible with the AIM-9...
  8. I'm guessing it's more of a limitation on the aircraft's weapon/fire control software. Similar to how on the KA-50 you can't load a gunpod opposite an ATGM.
  9. Not sure if this should be a separate thread, but has anyone tried flying with the slats disabled? I just gave it a go and to be honest, I was expecting a more substantial difference. Landing speeds and AoA seemed (to my Mk1 eyeballs) more or less the same as with the slats deployed.

  11. This is probably as much user error as it is a bug, but... If you load a 530 on one hardpoint with a rocket pod on the opposite hardpoint, the game crashes to the desktop when you try to arm the 530 (or, presumably, the rockets). No biggie, just thought I'd point it out. This was on DCS 2.0.
  12. Hopefully they squash the bugs soon! Your server has always been my go-to server for when I just want to chill and kill some time (and tanks/APCs/airplanes) on DCS. Thanks for all the hard work keeping it running.
