  1. If you are fighting AI and they get on your six you can always cut throttle, apply brakes and make them overshoot. Just like top gun. Remember to fly evasively so they don’t hit you with guns. Remember to light the burners when you see that they are about to overshoot since the AI will invariably go vertical when this happens.

  2. If any of the remaining Hornet Drivers need a Laser pointed at their Targets for those sweet GBUs, give us a call :pilotfly::thumbup:

     

    No need. We have Mavericks. But of course. If you need more gbus we can be of assistance. Since you can only carry four of them.

  3. Isn't that the point of a high fidelity simulator? To simulate real life? If you want quick start/unlimited ammo/easy flight model, I know a great new game that just came out on console/PC.

     

     

    I'm partially kidding, but not, at the same time. This IS a simulator, after all.

    Kidding aside there are already plenty of compromises to make this GAME fun. Like rearming, repairing, labels, f10 map, externals views. Many of which can be turned on/off. Why is another one a problem. No one is forcing it on anyone. If you want complete realism no one is stopping you from putting on a helmet and bringing a couple of “pee bags”.

  4. I also had trouble getting vertical scan to lock anything yesterday. I was in a turnfight with a fighter. It was very close. VACQ would not lock. Once I got him in the center of the HUD I switched to boresight and it locked instantly. This happened more than once.

  5. I can't use the interrogator on multiplayer server when I start from ground with a fully power up. I move the TDC over the target and press the "Sensor Control Switch-Depress" - but nothing. The traget remains yellow. When I start on air or singel mission the Interrogator works well.

     

    Did you turn IFF on? I didn't know I had to do that since it defaults to ON in SP mission where you start in the air.

     

    Press the IFF button on the UFC and press ON.

  6. If you want to go full realism you should keep in mind that on a carrier deck you always have to be in IDLE thrust when turning. A safety precaution to avoid blowing people of the deck with sweeping thrust.

    So you have to build up enough speed before you start to turn.

  7. I am not arguing, I'm telling you. Whether you believe me or not is up to you. That picture you found is of an old block 32 or below. It has the small intake form a PW engine and the landing /taxi light on the main landing gear. Find me a USAF 2007 block 50 after CCIP photo and prove me wrong.

     

    I didn't say you were wrong. I'm just not interested. I only care about what the plane is capable of and if ED decides to include that capability or not. Find me documentation that states the block 50 is incapable of carrying the lau-88 and prove me wrong.

  8. Don't compare the real viper to that of the other sim. The real viper can not carry 8 mavericks.

     

    According to f-16.net it has the capability to carry 8 Mavericks. There is a difference between “can not” and “does not”.

    Do you have any documentation that states that it is not possible?

  9. The f16 has an awesome cockpit with a Much better HOTAS system. As a bonus the stick is identical(almost) to the warthog stick.

    It can carry 8 Mavericks which is even more than the a10 and twice as many as the f18. But the f18 can carry twice as many missiles.

    I base this on our current f18, which could improve, and the f16 in falcon bms.

  10. I found that I have to press the TDC down button once a target is in the crosshairs. This completely defeats the purpose for me since pressing the TDC down invariably leads to the maverick slewing off-target. At least on my throttle unit it is very difficult to press the TDC down without moving one of the axis. So I still need a separate biding for the TDC-down action.
