  1. I would like to up this post again to ask for this feature, at least for the Hornet, since it is a plane that partiularly exhibits these vibrations due to the extreme low speed maneuverability.

Here is a recent video showing all this:

I think the shaking, buffeting and control surfaces vibrations should be a standard now, at least to the level of the F4 phantom.

    Thanks!

Digging up something very old here but with how amazing the F-4E bends and warps are we going to see an update to the Tomcats wing flex? From all media I can find it seems that there should be a substantially greater level of movement and flex from the F-14, especially how the wings flex from the over wing fairing outwards, not half way down the wing.

This is a great example of truly how much the wings flex both at low and high loads. Would love to see it updated when the F-4E is released.

Yes, there is clearly not enough bending/flex in the Tomcat (and all other modules) since the initial point of the flex is way too far in the outer side of the wing. The flex should start in the infinitesimal start of the wing, inmediately after the insertion with the fuselage, but thats not the case in any module as far as I can tell. Of course, in that infinitesimal slide, the flex is zero (otherwise the wing would be broken) but the point is, the flex starts way too far on the wing, leading to a weak/insuficient deformation in ALL modules. I guess this is done this way to avoid modeling pylons movement but I would love to see improvements in this regard in DCS.

It enables the full-body character including the head. Normally, the "pilot model", if displayed, has no head.

Once activated, you can move your camera with the standard DCS camera controls for some nice screenshot (see our manual on that topic for the controls).

That said, there is a minor issue that the camera bounds are still quite tight (to disallow people moving their head outside of the aircraft for example)

It would be great to be able to activate the selfie mode in the replay, otherwise, it doesnt make much sense to me, sice it is not possible to fly the plane while in the selfie camera.

    Thanks!

Currently, we are working on fog, with other things to follow. There were some challenges with fog but I am not 100% what they were. Thanks.

Ok, thats better than nothing 👍

    thanks for the reply.

What happened to the fog that was shown off 3 years ago?

    +1

Not a single word about weather/clouds in years. Nothing about the old "humidity parameter" for wings vapour, or the reduced visibility (volumetric fog) that was itroduced even with screenshots.

Would love to know "anything" about all this.

  6. I would like to add that it seems like it wont work in the replay mode, at least as far as I can tell, which doesnt makes sense to me. I would love to use it in the replay mode.

    thanks!

  7. +1, I can't figure out how this camera works. When i enable it, I cant freely move on the cockpit any more than a few inches forward (cant put the camera over the dash) and I cant turn back enough to see the pilot completely independently of the pilot movement. Quite odd.

This may seem counter intuitive, but you want to be GPU bound which means you want to add more work for the GPU.  It's okay if you can't stay at 60fps.  I assume your monitor is 60hz.  40fps or 50fps is just fine.  HAGS on, no full screen, Windows Flip Mode Enabled in Windows 11.  Run the highest resolution you can.  If you run MSAA, you can Enhance it to 8x and add transparency antialiasing to make the GPU work even harder.  MSAA x4 in Game, NCP Enhance AA x4 (or higher), Transparency AA Multisample or Supersample if you really want load.  This only works with MSAA, not DLSS or TAA.  I would turn off VSYNC and GSYNC because they let the GPU rest.  Make sure it's off in the monitor, the NCP, and the game. No reflex or low latency mode.

    Thanks for your reply!!

Well, I understand what you said, but the stutter happens also in more demending situations. Anyway, the DCS is set as "high performance" in both, nvcp and windows, and clocks in the gpu are stable so the load should not be an issue. Moreover, I have quite extreme settings, including DLAA. Tried with different kinds of AA just in case DLSS had some issues but nope!...is DCS related. Other games run perfect. I bet all this is due to the lack of proper full screen mode.

Im using a 144hz monitor (set to 120hz) and Win 10 btw, already included this info in the main thread. Changing the refresh rate in the monitor did nothing to solve this, tried using 60Hz mode too.

I would love to get back the Alt+Enter trick!🥲

  9. Hi all!

I have been having a lot of stuttering since the old good Alt+Enter, real full screen trick stopped working (I think it was in v2.7 or so). I have checked this in 2 completely different systems and the result is the same. My actual system is compound of: 13900k, rtx 3090, 64gb ddr5 6400, nvme 990pro 2tb, 1000WPSU Be Quiet, 3440x1440, single monitor (not using VR), Win 10. DCS settings maxed but, although stuttering might lower a bit by lowering the settings, it will stillbe there even in much lower settings. Anyway, there is a lot of room in GPU, RAM and CPU available for DCS, so that shouldnt be the reason for the stutters, and in fact, with a much weaker PC than this one, I had perfect stutter free experience when Alt+Enter was working.

I have tried pretty much everything I could think of and everything I have read out there, the damn stuttering is still present. When the Alt+Enter thing worked, I remember that the sim was butter smooth, and more importantly, I remember how the stuttering felt when not enabling the real full screen mode, and the kind of stuttering Im experiencing is exactly the same as the one I had when not using the Alt+enter command, so what bugges me is that Im 100% sure that if the trick would be still working, I would not have a single stutter.

This kind of stuttering does not reflect in riva tunner, since the actual frame rate is perfectly constant (60fps in my case, with plenty of GPU/CPU/RAM/Page file available). I see the stuttering but the frame rate and frame time is PERFECT, so it has to be something with the way the sim present images in the screen. I see the stutters in the internal DCS graph though.

Curious thing is, when in the cockpit, even flying in MP, I dont notice the stutters much if anything, however, if I record a flight (a display for instance), and then I play it, when in the F11 view, and the plane locked, there is a stutter fest. The odd thing is that the stutters seem to happen the most in moments where the GPU usage is particularly low, for example, only the plane in the view with a blue sky behind and the 3090 at 30/40% usage.

    Things I have tried:

-Disable CPU core parking (this was very important to avoid tons of problems, but not to solve stuttering)

    -Disable full-screen optimisations

-Multiple combinations of FPS limiters (nvidia control panel, riva tunner, in game, 59, 58, 59,94, 60, 60,1 fps)

    -nvidia reflex

-Vsync in different options (in game, nvidia cp), on and off (it improves a bit with vsync off, but thats not an option since Im not going to accept screen tearing)

    -Enabling full screen in dcs

-HAGS on/off, game mode on/off, ultimate energy profile, etc.

    -DCS MT/ST

-Closing MSI AB and Rive Tunner

    -Disabling GPU OC

-Adding exceptions to my anti viruses

    -Uninstalling tacview

    -disabling hot plug

    -I have Gsync disabled

-Manually setting a page file equal to my ram (64gb)

    -Enable/disable reshade

    -Disabling all mods

-Some more I might not recall now

As I said, the "style" of stuttering is the same I remember when NOT entering in real full screen mode back then ( I see the stuttering but the fps are rock solid), so I wonder if any of you have discovered a real solution for this kind of stuttering, or a way to make the real full screen mode to work again??

    thanks!

  10. Can we expect the f4 to be added to the list so we can have vibration for it?, it would be great. Also some improvements to the UI of the software and the level of minimum vibration in general would be very welcome.

    thanks!

  11. Pretty much what tittle says.

In the external view (I cant confirm in the cockpit view since I cant reach to see the load from there but might be the same), when maneuvering the plane to generate buffeting, only the loads under the left wing seem to move/vibrate, the loads under the right wing remain completely static. The wing itself vibrates on both sides though.

    No mods installed.

I truly LOVE these kind of details so I hope this can be solved in a future patch.

    Thanks!.

  12. Just wanted to give a big THANKS! To the HB team!!, just a few minutes in, and I cant believe my eyes with this absolute work of art, just WOW!, the amount of atention to detail is uterly imsane, the quality and variety of features of the product stands way above anything to date and the looks of the beauty are clearly made, not only by true artists, but extremely talented and passionate people that have no problems walking many extra mails to bring our loved sim to new highs. T H A N K S! for giving us, once again, the new state of the art flight simulation with the Phantom, keep it up guys, I love you!!!

  13. This is how things should be irl, the cockpit is just mind blowing, the art work is out of this world and the amount, detail and realism of the weathering is just spot on, exactly what one would expect of such and aircraft. Irl it would be difficult to deal with certain cockpit interactios, just deal with it, is part of the fun, learn the layout and gain proficiency (or wait until someone do a new cockpit textures mod)... just that, but dont call "issue" what is not buddy. This is the closest to perfection a flight simulation has ever been, enjoy it!

Hb!, you guys are gods among us, amazing, out of this world work (as always!), THANKS!
