  1. I think the Harrier or Tornado would be an excellent choice. For one they are older planes so its easier to get the technical details. The "newer" planes like F18 are still covered with a veil of secrecy, wich results in a sim with ALOT of guess work and thus unrealistic. The second point is that those planes are not crammed full with computers so its easier to implement in the state the sim is now.
  2. Memory speeds hardly have any effect at all on perfomance no matter what application or game you run. This is because 90% off all instructions that run on your ALU are handled thru your cache memory (SRAM) thats build into your CPU. The only way to increase perfromance is to get a faster CPU
  3. I don't know if its modelled in this sim but it could be laser dispersionPart of the laser touches the target but other parts reflect the ground infront, behind or from other objects like trees and buildings behind the target. This causes errors in range finding.
  4. I stand corrected its the dcs launcher that runs on 4 cores default but when you start a mission it spawns the dcs.exe wich runs on one core. Looks like i too have to jumps thru all the hoops to get them working. But i can say its definitely worth doing since it practically doubles my framerate.
  5. I am at work right now but will look into to check if i am looking at the right process, i shall post screenshots to confirm.
  6. if you check the affinity of the process you can see 4 cores enabled and working all 4
  7. Tip for the people that have an quadcore en 64bit vista, you guys don't have to jump thru all the hoops to get 4 cores running it does that by default for all processes.
