  1. This is kind of the point. When using your thumb to manipulate the mini-stick you cannot use your thumb for activating any of the other buttons on the side of the throttle-grip (usually these buttons would have functions like radios, countermeasures, cage/uncage etc.). However when using the index-finger to manipulate the mini-stick you can still activate your countermeasures/radios/etc with the buttons on the side of the throttle using your thumb. This is the reason I prefer a mini-stick that is to be used with the index-finger. It's not just a thing of habit or getting used to a different layout but also has a direct effect on the ability to "multitask". I am sorry if my previous explanation was a bit ambiguous. :)
  2. + 1 IIRC the Hornet has a similar switch, so that would fit as well.
  3. The point is not that a thumbstick totally prevents other interactions with the thumb but that it makes it impossible to press certain buttons at the same time i.e. while slewing the radar/tgp/etc i still want to be able to control the airbrakes/countermeasures/radio/etc with my thumb. You cannot do this simultaneously when your thumb is already busy manipulating the ministick as these inputs are usually controlled with the thumb as well. I just hope VPC will give the possibility to choose between both variants as this was a thing i was looking forward to in a new throttle. There i must agree that it is different strokes for different folks. I personally cannot stand the ergonomics of my X-55 throttle. On another note, how did you get the mini-nipply-thingy on the X-55 to work? I cannot for the life of me get it to register within DCS :joystick:
  4. I really hope you will also have time to review the possibility of an index ministick as opposed to a thumbstick, for the reasons others have explained above. If not at the initial release of the throttle it would be great to later have the possibility to get a version with an index ministick, seeing as I find the thumbstick to be somewhat of a weird flaw on an otherwise great looking throttle. :)
  5. Slightly off topic and perhaps you already know this, but since it's quite power hungry ghost presses on the X-55 throttle can also be caused by a non sufficient power supply from the usb-port. What might help is using an independently powered usb-hub or (at least this worked in my case) plugging the throttle into a front panel usb-port that is connected to a motherboard-hub whose other port is unused. Of course if the wiring really is going down the drain (which isn't unlikely since the internals appeared to be extremely cheap when opening mine to investigate the source of these ghost presses) this probably won't help but I figured if this turns out to help your throttle I might as well mention it. :)
  6. Sokol nailed why it would be nice to habe a bindable cover. There are many modules that have guarded switches or buttons (e.g. Mirage's Jettison Switch, F-5's Master Arm Switch etc.). I think it would be quite beneficial to the often cited "immersion" to be able to bind a switch-guard to its proper counterpart on the throttle quadrant instead of to a different switch altogether. On a similar note the folding trigger on the T-50 is possibly the only thing that I think could be improved upon and this simply (I say this even though I have no clue how difficult this actually is from a technical standpoint :music_whistling:  ) by adding a bindable-action when flipping it down/up. Again I'm pretty much with Sokol on this one. The option to choose (wether by changing it oneself or by being able to choose the position when ordering) would really be nice. To add to this I would like to repeat a point that another user made (don't remember if it was here or on reddit): with the ministick under the index finger it is possible to actuate radio/cms/etc. with the thumb all the while manipulating the TDC/slew/whatever-space-sim-related-thing making multi-tasking somewhat easier. This would not be possible with a side-mounted ministick as the thumb would be "busy" with the TDC/slew/etc. Also it would be quite fitting to have this Hornet-style layout with the TDC under the index. :smilewink: While I'm at it: regardless of where the ministick is located I would like to suggest adding a push to the other 4-way hat, more buttons are always nice. Alright, I'll be off my soapbox now. :D On a completely unrelated note: hooray for dust covers, really like the one for the T-50 and had hoped you would make one for your throttle as well!
  7. Good point on the airbrake switch, but other than that this looks really awesome! Also, a few questions: 1. Is there a microswitch behind the switch-guard, i.e. will we be able to bind an action to it? 2. If you say 4-way hat or mini-stick do you mean this can be changed in the configurator software? 3. Follow-Up: does the mini-stick also have a push-action? 4. Just to make sure: am I correct if I assume that the toggles on the base are not 3-pos toggles?
  8. Oh, alright never mind. :music_whistling: Misunderstood you, thought only the very first batches were affected. Still excited to finally receive my new equipment! :)
  9. Will you be sending out e-mails to those affected by this delay? I would like to know wether to still hold my breath for a possible delivery in the next days or if I'll have to wait some more (not that waiting would be unusual in the realm of flightsims  ).
  10. Great! Thanks for the quick reply! :)
  11. Hi thread and forum :) I have a question concerning the folding trigger on the T-50 grip: Does it work like an additional single-stage trigger or can it actually be folded away upwards? Regards, TheHendrix
