  1. I'm pretty sure that I fixed this today. I found some info indicating this may be due to Overclocking your graphics card. I've had mine overclocked at the same settings for a long time. But I think something changed in DCS a while ago.. maybe with the lighting? I turned my Overclocking off and was able to fly for an hour with no problems. Before I the game would crash in 5-10 minutes.

  2. I cannot find anyplace to ask this question about the WinWing Maintained Switches(Toggles that stay where you switch them, as opposed to the Momentary Switches that snap back to center).

I'm talking about in MSFS 2020. I've posted in many places and get no replies, even from WinWing!

I cannot find many owners of the FA-18 throttle that fly MSFS. But if you do, I am wondering if your Maintained Switches work in that Sim? I cannot get my Maintained Switches on the Throttle Panel to work. And I don't know if it's my hardware or their software since it's new. But I cannot believe they don't support those types of switches when almost every aircraft actually has them in the cockpit.

  3. I updated my nVidia Drivers and the game. And purchased and installed the A10c II.

I also disabled all of my mods, and disabled the addins for TacView and SRS in the DCS Installed Module settings.

Here is the DCS.log and the crash info after doing all of the above. DCS has been CTD for 3-4 weeks now within 10 mins of starting a mission.

Also, here is the Windows Event Error:

  4. Hmmm... wel I just tested it again with all other effects off and it worked. I don't know why it wouldn't work yesterday.

I have had some strange problems with SSA since I got it. One is that sometimes, the ground roll/bumps continue after takeoff. And another is when I pause the game, or even exit the game, one or more effects continue to shake. That happens about 1/4 of the time. And yesterday, After I had exited DCS and SSA closed all it's windows, it did stop shaking. But 10 minutes later I noticed my CPU was running at 100%. When I looked, I found that it was Simshaker. I exited SS and the cpu dropped back down to 10%.

I have not seen others post these types of issues, so I tend to think it's my pc? IDK

  5. I just created a track and screenshot this morning.

Do you have a triplescreen setup to test this? I am pretty sure you won't see it on a single monitor...

I am running 3 monitors and one touchscreen below in a T formation.

    My game resolutions is 5760x1080.

I am using a 3 Monitor LUA for my MonitorSetup config to render 3 screens(not 1 large stretched screen).

Included is my lua file, a Track, and a screenshot.

    Thanks.

  6. I'm wondering if there's a way to change default cockpit zoom level, as I always bring it back a few notches to get the best view. My Virpil throttle has a detent on the zoom slider in the middle though - I want that to correspond to my preferred zoom level, not the default. I've attached screenshots of the default, and what I'd prefer to it to be.

    Any ideas?

When you say 'default', do you mean the default when you spawn in the cockpit. So you don't have to adjust it every time?

For the zoom detent on your virpil.. Have you tried adjusting its axis with a custom user curve.

  7. Also, I have been testing the 'Ground Roll' and Ground Bumps with the FA-18c, and the Ground Roll produces no effect. I turned everything else off(unchecked). And set Ground Roll to 100, but still no vibration.

I believe the file it uses is hp_4_0_4.wav(Runway/Taxiway Rolling file), and when I test that I do get the effect very well at 50%. So that is strange.. :dunno:

    Thanks!

  8. Ok, well I removed Reshade and it is still crashing. So it's probably not Reshade, but it looks like a graphics driver.

  9. DCS Beta has been crashing quite often the past few days. (even before the last update this week I think) I finally looked at my Windows Event Viewer and saw that it was the Reshade dxgi.dll module that seemed to be the culprit.

I update from Reshade 4.5 to 4.7. I repaired DCS. I updated my nVidia Drivers...

Before I post an issue in the Reshade forums, I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

  10. Would it be possible to add a short, but big shake sample on the Catapult Shoot (FA-18, etc..) before the current hp_10_0_B.wav sample. So you get a big shake and then the hp_10_0_B.wav?

I see no way for me to customize this myself since the hp_10_0_B.wav seems to just repeat for the entire launch sequence.

A big shake like the p_2_7_8_N.wav (Landing Gear - Nose) would be perfect IMO. I don't now how you program the Cat Shoot. Maybe you can make 1 new sample by merging p_2_7_8_N.wav + hp_10_0_B.wav?

I have been away from DCS for a few months, so I don't know if the Carrier Trap effect would benefit from this also?

    Thanks!

  11. Is there a list of which sound files go with which Effects?

I'm trying to setup the FA-18 and it has a few Effects (Catapult Shoot, Wire Trap, etc..) that are not listed in the SimShaker Sound Module Test page. I can test the volume for most of the effects, but not all of them..

I assume some of these Effects use the same sound file as others, but have different lengths they are used and a different volume?

  12. This is a great tool! And just like the OP said, I tried several other mappers, but found them to cumbersome or totally confusing. But I used to use the Saitek Profile Editor, which had a ton of features that many people didn't know about. I find this tool easy to use and understand.

    Great work!!

After many hours creating a profile for the F/A-18, today RSMapper would not load the file. Arrg!!

But I figured out that for some strange reason, the GUID and even the Name of my Racing Wheel controller had changed??? I just had to save a new file and compare the devices. I copied the new Name and GUID into my old proflie and it loaded!! YEA!!!!!!

Here is my racing wheel device:

    OLD : <DeviceInfo id="943478b0-6001-11e7-8001-444553540000" name="Thrustmaster FFB Wheel" selected="False" />

    NEW: <DeviceInfo id="94f30dc0-6001-11e7-8002-444553540000" name="Thrustmaster T300RS Racing Wheel" selected="True" />

And as you can see, I have it selected as False in my original profile because I don't use that racing wheel. So, why is it even being saved in the profile?

  13. I added a flight in a simple mission for AI and when I went to select the F-14b as the aircraft type, it was not in the list? I tried all of the mission types from CAP CAS, Intercept, Ground Attack... and it does not show up for anything.

I can create a Quick Mission and fly it, but it's not in the Mission Editor?

I have Repaired my install twice just yesterday. :joystick:
