Anyone notice MiG 29 FM changes since the last patch?
Yes, it's better, but always too much instability on the yaw axis.

Lol, why these changes about FMs then, docs and proofs have change since last year ?
Docs and proofs don't do a FM, it's just a basis, but FMs are so much more than that, and yes, the feeling is part of how good a FM is, or not. -

" they can't fix it because all the weapon go to ED (bad choice i think) "
It wasn't by "choice", but imposed by ED.
This is not a viable situation for DEKA and its customers.
We were used to fast, and great support, and this will have a negative impact on DEKA and its modules.
ED have already a lot of work with theirs modules.
@uboats should be able to at least, work on the weapons bugs, and this does not prevent ED from making weapon's changes,
if they wish.-

Whatever the release altitude (2000, 3000, 5000, ..) and dive angle, the cansiter opens at 1.2s and CCIP/CCRP are way off.

Yep, they are absolutely bugged. It seems like right now they always drop with a 1.2s fuze and the CCIP/CCRP is very off.
Thanks for confirming the bug.
It seems that the canister opening time must vary according to release altitude and dive angle. someone has made an interesting table, take a look https://flyandwire.com/2022/08/05/the-mk-20-rockeye-cluster-bomb-observations/
I will made a bug report to ED but they don't seem to be very reactive to treat the bugs, then i am afraid that we will have to wait a long time.

No. This is why people asks for a short track in the Caucasus. Then everyone will see immediately if there are user errors or not. Instead of each wasting time making a mission.
I don't understand why people always object to providing tracks. It's really the simplest of ways for everyone.

Here is the track

Why don't you upload a short track so people can see if you are missing something or you found a bug...
I don't miss anything, i was asking about release parameter (if any, never use this bomb).
But it's seems to be a bug.
Whatever the release altitude (2000, 3000, 5000, ..) the cansiter opens immediately and bomblets are released.
In my post, I specified, "they don't seem to work properly. " so the minimum a person should do before replying would be to check if the mk-20s work properly and the method used (CCRP, CCIP, Dive angle, speed, and so on).
Then perhaps someone can confirm it's a bug or there is a special procedure to use them ?
-
Can someone explain how to use the mk-20s, they don't seem to work properly.
Thanks

@Chizh do you think, it's necessarry to add propaganda to propaganda ?
Do you think that people are stupid enough to trust these type of articles...ok.. yes... a lot :), but not all.
This one make me laugh "It's widely believed that superior pilot training was the main reason why American F-86 Sabres consistently gained air superiority over technically superior Russian MiG-15s in the Korean War."

Does this happen consistently?
Yes, if your speed is > mach 0.8, it's near 100%

but even when we get a close simulation, if the DCS opponents are over power we will be struggling.
^ This.
DCS is just an hollywood Game, then don't expect realism.
Actually, the mig29 flies like a sausage, no stability on the yaw axis, do some slight rudders inputs and see what happens, even a simple roll input causes an over-reaction of the yaw axis.
And the drag coefficient, lol, with an AOA angle>12° the MIG is a lot more draggy than a delta wing jet like the Mirage 2000, just hilarious FM.In DCS the MIG-29 is not a competitor in Dogfight, funny isn't it.

Not a bug, it's in the manual. Feel free to read it once.
Manual ? What manual ?
I have a quick guide (from DEKA) and and the thunder guide from (Chuck)
In the thunder guide i can read :
"2. If RWS or VS mode is selected:
a) Slew the TDC (Target Designator Controller) over a desired target and press the TDC (ENTER)
to transfer from RWS to SAM mode. This is NOT a radar lock; you have merely set a target as
the HPT (High Priority Target), which is represented as a circle. Other SPTs (Secondary Priority
Targets) will be displayed as well without a circle.
b) Press the TDC (ENTER) a second time to radar lock the desired target to STT (Single Target
Track) mode.
c) You can unlock target by using the S2 Sensor Control Switch DEPRESS"That means :
for RWS or VS mode selected : first DTC press-->SAM mode, second DTC press-->STT mode -
Locking a target in VS mode go directly to STT (not SAM), Bug ?

@sylkhan He's probably still using ST version of DCS, terrain rendering bug is just in MT
@Dr_Pavelheer good point.

I wouldn't say "unusable",
Compared to what it should be, it is.

Sure, if you don't see anything (no terrain/target rendering for range>50mn), it is very tough to use

FWIW I don't ever recall having it pointing at the target in the Jeff, only with the Hornet MITL missiles. But it might have been longer ago than I've been playing...
Correct, for some obscure reasons, the CM-802 AKG never pointed at the targets.
It's been unusable, since a long time

Ok i tried with blue (unrestriced satnav ON, in global settings) in Syria, and Ls6 are perfectly accurate
@pjracdc you should verify your global settings or mission setting and activate ""unrestriced satnav" for the blue and see if that works.

Also with the Jeff, the GPS guided weapons are less accurate when used by the Red side, Blues are pretty pinpoint.
currently it's seems to be the opposite, Red--> accurate, blue-->inaccurate
I did tests only with caucase, will try with other maps
19 hours ago, pjracdc said:All test with blue side.
Repeat, in caucasian map this weapon work ok. Rest of maps not work.
Try with red or blue but with "unrestriced satnav" on

As I understand it, the intended functionality for the "Unrestricted SATNAV" option for missions is supposed to deny REDFOR the capability to use GPS, limiting it to BLUFOR coalition aircraft only.
No, redfor has GPS but with reduced accuracy.
I did some test and i confirm that unrestricted satnav affect the blue JF-17 :
Blue JF-17 unrestricted satnav off --> accuracy reduced ?
Blue JF-17 unrestricted satnav on --> good accuracyRed JF-17 unrestricted satnav off --> good accuracy ?
Red JF-17 unrestricted satnav on --> good accuracyit seems that DCS has turned the tables for the JF-17, red is blue, and blue is red :)
