  1. Hi, someone recently asked about the nozzle position not being shown on the F/A-18C IFEI page....is there any chance that it could be implemented? By the way, it works great on my winwing MIP system to show the missing engine and fuel data... Thanks
  2. With regards to the Saitek rudders.....try these. Replaces the pedals on a Saitek rudder set. More realistic pedals and allows use of the toe brakes. Easy installation as well. Woks great on mt setup... Link to the guy on ebay - he does various versions, Cessna, MD, Combat plus some other FS related bits... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133935246818?hash=item1f2f29ade2:g:e7kAAOSwAiFhkiWr&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA4HD4N8tYXKuxMB6snd7XybOGSWLdmYCqwMAiQ%2BOHP62gyUBcu5JESDMzeX65H%2BMLubyOas6CD%2FQNodE9rDfq%2FIJc1YErtxpqSaqBjxizeJTBnBgRSl59xjHFFygi5tZQFYxxkbS3LykFCGHSC3Fw%2BTvhuO9%2FUlNSdcQYsJUhX%2BQpLhRYnHYjwyndcmK9vATFU4iT7aYYodyUQfXicJzisFQGAuWBimYeMTmzl4YpwS6Z13OZzALogUs4bayVX9Li3H2lwcsLlpzuK6adn%2FCITEVh3RJogWI%2Bs7%2BfGIjewGnU|tkp%3ABk9SR8br9vb0YA
  3. Hi all, After moving house and acquiring a bit more room....and approval from my better half .....I made a cheap and cheerful sim. Bought a single large 1220mm x 2440mm mdf sheet, thankfully cut to required sizes by the B&Q staff, to make up two side pods to rest my flight sim hardware. Realised I could connect the pods underneath with two strips of mdf left over measured so my office chair, previously fitted with a small mdf panel between the leg area to position my thrustmaster joystick, to fit snug between the pods. Then came up with the idea of a half sized sheet of mdf fitted to the front of the pods to make an instrument panel in an A-10C style. Cut out the leg holes and used the waste from those to make an area to site the saitek rudder pedals. Throw in a box of screws, some grey paint, Velcro (Thanks wilco!), a few decals from a guy on Etsy and some pictures of cockpit sections run off my printer and stuck to some board and voila..... Add my cougar mfds, two button boxes from ebay and some cheap led lights that usually attach to the back of a TV and even I'm surprised at the result!
  4. Hi all, some info, should anybody be looking, for CNC or printing in Southeast England. Checked out CNC'ing the simpit using a company near Redhill Aerodrome (where I work) called 'Steel the Scene' who basically CNC for film and TV production. They would supply and CNC in MDF for just over 500 quid (Sterling). Bit rich for moi so I have had the nested plans printed by a company called Lollipop in Crawley (Near Gatwick Airport) for 58 quid. The large sheet plans are printed over 2 half sheets, so a total of 9 sheets for the whole thing. Just need to find the time to work on the simpit now 'cos the wifey keeps finding me jobs in the garden!!!! By the way RaxHa, did you ask anyone for permission for use of the plans? - I see that for the Ackers & Barnes plans they like an email requesting use, I haven't seen anything for these plans. Thanks Fred
  5. Thanks RaxHa, kinda thought that might be the problem with the wallpaper paste and I'd considered the spray mount instead. Just waiting on a final quote for CNC, then consider that against time, effort and no doubt a substantial amount of bad language! Then there's the feeling of having created something yourself aswell ...... decisions, decisions! Thanks as well to Bubbles for the idea, love your simpit!
  6. Hi RaXha, How's it working with the wallpaper paste to attach the plans. I was looking at going the CNC route but costwise there's just no contest if you've got the time and are prepared to cut it yourself. I'm intending to use MDF (yes, I know about the dust problem) and I've been looking for a way to temporarily attach the plan to the wood. I'm concerned about damaging the MDF using water to remove the paper after cutting. Cheers
  7. Hey RaXha, Thanks for the links, got those already. It was more a question regarding the optimised 2400x1200 sheets as to whether that was the complete cockpit, or whether it still needed the 6mm and 18mm sheets as well. At the moment I'm just finishing off the room I'm going to put the sim in - had to drywall the room and I'm still finishing off the plastering. Hopefully get around to the simpit soon! Fred
  8. Hi all, considering making Jedi's cockpit, although after reading this whole thread I'm a little confused as to which plans I should be using (found a nice guy to CNC the plans for me). Are the 2400x1200 plans complete in 12mm board or do they still require the thinner boards as well? Confused! Thanks Fred
