  1. The hydraulic pressure drops and is unrecoverable after engine start when following real life manual start up procedure regarding the cowl flaps. The proper procedure as per the actual operating manual for the F4U-1D is to fully open the flaps before even turning the battery on but in the dcs Corsair if you do this it depletes your hydraulic pressure and it is unrecoverable https://imgur.com/a/2FEbYN82FEbYN8

They work in MP. The main problem people have with them in MP is that if the target radar isn't illuminating the rough area where the Shrike is flying, the Shrike won't track it due to lack of sidelobe modeling in DCS. This unfortunately is an issue of all ARM missiles in DCS but it is very easy to see with the Shrike.

Also on another note, it seems my updated Shrike table got pushed so you guys should be able to use an updated manual online.

    Ok cool. Thanks fella

  3. Hi y'all

As the title says, since the last update Petrovich won't speak to me anymore when I ask him to do anything either through start up or using/managing the sight and weapons. Done a couple of slow repairs but nothing, gonna delete and reinstall it tonight but was just wondering if anyone else has run into this issue. I can see his subtitles fine but don't get any audio from him

    Thanks

Engine degraded after shutdown Aug2nd.trk 4.26 MB · 2 downloads

I fly ~5 mins WEP, subsequently land right after this run and taxi off the runway. The engine degrades two minutes sixteen seconds AFTER shutting down the engine. This is almost a carbon copy of how the Mustang was a few years back. I have included the Track, Debrief, and video of the Track. Not sure what all else I can provide for this as evidence there is a problem with the modelling.

Wait what it degraded after shutdown, yeah that's not right. It does seem that the plane that had the most rugged engine is also the most fragile in dcs at times. Also just to rule it out have you tried uninstalling the module then putting it back in

I can add to discussion that even if i move throttle and boost lever at take off roll turbo does not spool up at all, it star catching up very late just before take off.

Iirc early version of p-47 didn't have throttle/boost lever interconetion at all so we can safely assume that pilots at firsts use throttle and boost lever separately.

Yeah this is the fact that DCS model engines way too sensitive, i could list couple famous examples but probably all of you know what i have in mind.

Yeah that's correct early models didn't have interconnected controls. Pilots were killing their engines often by retarding the throttle before the boost so the USAAF told Republic to come up with a solution as they had had enough of the size of the cheques they were writing them

Hi Fabrizio. Welcome to the forum.

It might be worth posting for help in the VR section in future as there is some good advice there.

    To start with:

    • In Oculus app push the resolution slider to the far right to max the resolution.
    • Download oculus tray tool (or access the oculus debug tool; you can Google how to access this) and set the supersampling to about 1.3. This should give you a high Res image and good visuals..
    • As you are using link cable, try increasing the bitrate up to the max of 960 Mbps. This will help with the image quality.

In DCS, make sure pixel density is set to 1 and enable some anti-aliasing. With an AMD card this will need to be MSAA or TAA.

Try these first and see how you get on.

Interesting, does increasing the res in the oculus app and add a smaller amount of SS in tray tools as opposed to leaving it default and adding a larger amount of SS in tray tools?

Hoping someone can help me out with this, just bought the 47 and loving it.
Only issue I am having is that for a cold start, on the ground and even after airborne the gyro sight on the gun will not move, it stays stationary in the middle.
On hot start it moves around.
I cannot find any switch in the cockpit, nor any control command to bind to a button to turn it on.
If anyone knows the control bind description or knows how to fix it, would greatly appreciate it.

turn the gunsight brightness all the way to max and leave it there for a couple of seconds and it will uncage the pipper. once the pipper is uncaged you will be able to adjust the brightness accordingly. not sure why its modelled like this as its incorrect but it is what it is. anyhow thats how you do it
