  1. I just bought a swag of six modules and have a stack of downloading to to. The updater however, starts off, but then grinds to a total standstill for me. It starts OK but then within half a minute or less, the speed drops to zero and it doesn't seem to go anywhere. Once it's reached 0 B/s it never seem to resume. My firewall shows four live connections for the DCS_Updater.exe, but they've all been sitting at zero traffic for hours. Tried turning all Firewall and Antivirus off just in case, but nothing changed the behaviour. There's no more options to switch to HTTP (which going on the above, I'm assuming means it's already attempting HTTP). Cancelling, just exits the whole download and I have to select my modules in module manager all over again and start the entire process each time. My updater version is 2.9.16.18 Is anyone else having these issues?
  2. The buttons are difficult to read. In something like the mi8 you will be lost without some cheats or a good memory unless you fly a lot ... and can read Cryllic :) A lifesaver for flying all of those birds with a headset has been the inclusion of the tutorial button pointers in VR. I bought the mi8 and the Gazelle after getting comfortable in the Huey and haven't regretted either purchase. The mi8 is a loungeroom in the sky after flying the Huey - you'll love it I'm sure.
  3. Can someone enlighten me as to how you get the VR Zoom to work with the Vive? I've tried setting a controller to the UI Layer entry but it won't allow me to use keyboard keys and all my HOTAS buttons are already mapped to other functions. Is there a way to have it respond to a custom key macro?
  4. I get the same things as well. Seems to be whenever DCS needs to load more complex scenery or objects (e.g. approaching a city or a battle scene). It's a pain that it flashes back to the Vive space (which now seems to include the 3 dancing bars that indicate "hey I'm waiting on your computer to do something'). I'd much prefer if the DCS image just froze for a second instead of dumping me out of the cockpit. Day missions are bearable, but on night missions it's just dreadful because of the vast change in light levels. Overall though the VR experience is just getting better and better - it's just awesome now. Makes me giddy just thinking how darn immersive this stuff will eventually get. It really hasn't taken long to see a massive trend in overall improvement. Small glitches like this will hopefully be ironed out fairly soon.
  5. How's everyone finding the latest release? I tried 1.5.6.1938 on the weekend and was so happy to see the tutorial pointers finally working in VR. I can start to do some training again, which was always a real pain in VR (especially on something like the Mi-8 ). Unfortunately I'm getting some unexpected hang-ups and crashes (haven't tried all the models yet, but the A10-C Flight Training Campaign bombed out on me several times).
  6. I haven't flown with the Vive for a couple of weeks and fired up a mission on the UH-1 and door gunners equipped with the Gatling guns last night. That black bar thing was also visible but I think it's part of the general Vive loading screen (i.e not somethin specific to DCS). I noticed that gun barrels now start glowing red hot when you give them a good workout - a nice effect. I can't recall ever seeing that before. Does anyone know when that first appeared in the sim?
  7. Haven't come across the same issue i have to say. Even night flying is great. I don't think there's a separate gamma control as such. What versions are you running and which map/aircraft combo are you using?
  8. Man that's got to be frustrating! A month with the same status is ridiculous! Postal service is getting worse wherever you look. There has to be a way to escalate it. Hopefully they'll get their stuff into order soon for you.
  9. What's the status MacThai? Have they managed to lose your other box or are you happily flying a motion rig by now?
  10. Wow indeed. Just managed to grab the beta myself and it's really impressive how much improvement there has been in such a short time. Great work!
  11. All I can say is WOW .. totally concur with Shrike_AU - it's a difference like night and day. Just flew a Huey campaign mission with lots of other traffic which normally brought things to a mess frame wise. Everything was smooth as butter. Absolutely awesome. Can't believe how much they've improved things with this.
  12. Well that didn't take long. Async reprojection is now available in the SteamVR Beta https://steamcommunity.com/games/250820/announcements/detail/599369548909298226 :pilotfly:I'll be giving it a shot tonight, but if anyone has tried it yet let us know how it went with DCS.
  13. You need to punch, then double-click middle button, whilst doing a pinch swipe movement on the control pad. :joystick: Actually, sorry.. glove has no functionality. We're all waiting with baited breath as to what they'll do with it.
  14. Did anyone follow the news from #steamDevDays that Valve will be adding Asynchronous Time Warp to the Vive soon? I wonder if we'll see any performance benefit for DCS.
  15. Congrats. You must be like a kid at Xmas! Keen to see those pix.
