  1. Yep, nice vid thx :)
  2. I've edited my previous post to avoid any misunderstanding.
  3. Quite some work, but feasible. The French trad team did it some years ago for Black Shark release, for all in-game voices, and the result was not too bad. I was pilot #1 (player) :) EDIT: To clarify, I'm no longer an active member of the trad team (in spite of my outdated signature...), and I'm just talking about feasibility here. Whether it will actually be done some day would need to be assessed by ED / Razbam / the current French trad team.
  4. Google > "mirage 2000 parachute" Not much different from the russian stuff we have in DCS.
  5. :)
  6. lol Well, good thing in the end. Enemy's overconfidence will just give further advantage to Mirage pilots... Nice, you can handle AI... but who can't? I really don't get the point you're trying to make with that... just trolling maybe? ;)
  7. And heeeeeere we go again......
  8. Suicidal non-sense, in the real world you'd be dead more than 10 times :D
  9. Right, but that's not one-on-one, rather Eagle hunting with your MiG buddies ;) Pretty realistic way to handle F-15's with 21's by the way: team tactics ftw! And in spite of that, the Eagle pilot managed to score a kill before you shot him down... Good kill anyway :)
  10. I think you might be underestimating the M2000 aerodynamics and engine performance. The M2000 airframe has very fine aerodynamics, which provides excellent maneuverability. Relaxed stability and FBW just further improve this, especially at low speed / high AOA. Engine performance is also way ahead of the MiG. Not only thrust power, but also responsiveness, which is important in a dogfight; what really matters is not top speed, it's acceleration, and the M2000 definitely has a leap on that aspect. To have an idea, watch a "Solo Display" video on YT. I've seen MiG-21's in airshows, they don't come close.
  11. FBW is not magic, but it does make a huge difference. Interesting reading, in case you missed it: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2477486&postcount=14 Then why not the F-86? Just as close imho... ... and a delta wing F-16 (the "F-16 XL") ;)
  12. Seriously...... http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2481877&postcount=52 Another common reading in this sub-forum... and another big mistake! M2000 is a pure delta, MiG-21 has a horizontal tail plane => very different aerodynamics. Actually, take a look from above at the M2000, MiG-21 and... F-16. Now which two aircraft have a similar profile? ...... Surprise! Yet I don't see people comparing the 21 and 16 for they have similar shapes... Note: nothing personal with you Adese, as I said I'm just reacting to a common reading here. Typical American way of seeing the world :D Us = the good guys Russia = the bad guys Europe = rest of the world (pretty much) = all the same I like that :) Out, I'm going to open a topic for Sabre vs. MiG-21, and another one for P-51 vs. MiG-15. Makes as much sense as this one :D
  13. Funny, 'cause indeed the Harrier is half all of that: Half-carrier, half-capable, half-modern, half-strike, and half-plane! :D :D :D Just kidding ;) I've never been so much into this bird personally, but I understand other people liking her :)
  14. I guess it's useless to mention one more time that Mirage III and Mirage 2000 are not the same aircraft AT ALL......... Just in size, the 2000 is nearly 50% bigger.
  15. Would just like to clarify that open beta release is not final release. Open beta is announced for December. Final release has not been announced yet (will probably depend on beta progress, as for other modules). Then the specifications of the official announcement stand for the final product. And they include "advanced flight model".
  16. In the video trailer posted by Az', all cockpit views are from the C. But indeed in the full movie, some views are from the -5 (and maybe from the D, can't remember).
  17. OK so read my last sentence again: The adjective you were looking for was "fun", congratulations for finding it! If we go down this road, some people will probably think a Hello Kitty skin is fun...
  18. Indeed the French Air Force has a "Tiger" squadron flying M2000C, which should be good food for thought for skin artists :)
  19. I seriously doubt your screenshot is from DCS: M2000C by Razbam. Probably from a previous Mod, or even from another sim... And the question is not whether it is relevant for you or me, but whether it is relevant for a Mirage 2000C. It's a matter of fact, not taste. Then if we go fictional, the sky is the limit... but "relevant" is no longer the adjective you're looking for :)
  20. Fictional skins imitating N and D variants (two-seaters) from a C 3D model (one-seater) => not realistic / relevant.
  21. ???????? So the MiG-21 is irrelevant and useless because there is the Su-27? Not to mention the Sabre and MiG-15, and the warbirds. I really don't get you here... Agree the Rafale would be impossible to have as a flyable unit, but as an AI with SFM it would fit perfectly in DCS World. Anyway, just another wish list topic...
  22. Moos_tachu

    SAM Attack?

... and that in France the SEAD mission was left to the Jaguar with AS37, and later to the Mirage 2000D / Rafale with GBU / AASM / Scalp.
  23. Until we get a drogue hose C-135 or A330 MRTT, there is another option:
  24. Answering to this: Note: APU is not required if you have ground power, but indeed it is common practice.
  25. Thanks for this valuable contribution. I'm sure the entire community will rest better after reading this. Long time I had not been on the forums. DCS: M2000C coming soon changed that. And now I remember the wisdom in Wags' signature... Btw, you were correct when you said the M2000 and F-16 were comparable... but incorrect when you assumed this would result in comparable startup procedures. The Mirage 2000 is known for its shorter ramp start.
