Thank you uboats, that was useful information for me as well. I created this skin: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3302328/ There should be a J-11A section in the use files.
-
Is there a texture template for the J-11, or can we use the one for the Su-27?
-
Fantastic, thank you! I see that the mods folder included with the Mig-29 campaign overwrite some files installed with the Su-33 campaign, can I use both at the same time?

A campaign for the J-11! I have been looking for one for ages, thank you! If you search for "J-11" in the Missions and Campaigns forum it doesn't find anything. sixm this is of course your work and you should do as you please, but wouldn't uploading it in the user files make it easier to find?

I am not 100% sure, but it seems that my wingman does not attack the mission ground target (such as the E3 in the first mission). He acknowledges the command but it seems it's not bombing it. Also, I wanted to commend the cure you put in the briefings and settings, it makes a mission so much more interesting to fly than just having "fly to random target and boom it".

Yes, it really depends on where you have to switch. In games in general you focus far away, but in DCS there are the instruments in the cockpit, so you might want to check that.

Thank you! It works great! I just did the first mission and got blown up on my way to the target, but save for the tanker that keeps turning, everything is fantastic!

These should work.

If you are short-sighted you will need to wear glasses. I have no problem with my Lenovo Explorer, but I found the Rift a bit more cramped. I agree. I am waiting for mine, and it seems an effective and relatively cheap solution.

Hi Ian, thank you so much! It was indeed the page file. I had already set it to maximum 16GB but it wasn't enough, with a minimum of 16 now the game is stable.

I have the same issue with Persian Gulf. I tried to lower the PD to 1.3 but the results are the same. Maybe it takes a bit longer to crash (not much though), but it crashes nevertheless. No problem (aside from some occasional crash) with Caucasus. I did a fresh install and also deleted and reinstalled the PG map. I run a Lenovo Explorer with an i7 3770, 16GB and GTX 1080 with the latest release version, lately the open beta has been even worse. dcs.zip

The sensors come with the rift. If you don't care about walking around, the Windows headsets might be a better choice. Rift and Vive, yes. WMR not much, you need some light. 3 USB 3 for the Rift and 1 USB 3 for WMR. You are supposed to have it plugged at the same time as your monitor. They all use HDMI. Hard to say, it depends mostly on the resolution, but the lenses are important as well. Vive Pro and Samsung Odyssey are the ones with the highest resolution, followed closely by the Lenovo Explorer and another couple of WMR and then the Rift. Generally the Rift's lenses are considered to be very good though. They all have equivalent technologies that work more or less the same. Yes, you are going to have exactly the same problem that you have in real life. However you rarely read text close by in VR so it shouldn't be much of an issue. You can use most headset with glasses also, and exist custom frame to add prescription lenses as well. In my opinion, if are not interested in other aspects of VR that are not vehicular simulation, i.e. you are not interested in room scaling and controller, I would definitely go for some WMR. No hassle with external tracking and they are often much cheaper than the rest, lately the Lenovo Explorer without controllers was less than 200$.

Thank you. I reverted back to release and it got better. Anyway, turns out the problem was mostly the size of my page file, which wasn't enough. On open beta I still get crashes, but release is quite fine now.

Hello, I have constant crashes whenever I try to run DCS with my Lenovo Explorer. Usually DCS launches normally, but it always crashes before going into flight. My system is: Intel Core i7 4770 3.4 Ghz Motherboard ASUS Z87M Plus 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz GTX 1080 SSD Windows 10 Pro I managed to get in game once or twice for a few minutes, if I keep the settings to "VR" and the pixel density to 1.0. The only setting that I managed to change without it crashing was to set the textures to high. The game runs normally in 2D and I did a fresh reinstall of the open beta. All other VR games run fine. I tried to check if the RAM was getting maxed or the VGA overheated but everything seems normal. The Logitech profiler for my X-56 might have been a problem, if I run it, DCS seems to irremediably crash. I also uninstalled another Logitech mouse software I was running, but it doesn't seem to change much. I attached a few crash logs (sometimes it doesn't even create one). If I can provide something else tell me. Any help is greatly apperciated, those 5 minutes in VR have been amazing! dcs.log-20180830-181543.zip dxdiag.txt dcs.log-20180830-181548.zip dcs.log-20180830-182034.zip

Su-27 / Su-33 - HUD - Relative target altitude no numbers
Mesenzio replied to Falcon_S's topic in Object Bugs
Same issue here. They can keep the HUD without numbers for realism sake, but at least we should have the Δh rotary moving accordingly. -
Yes, is that a bug? As they are discussing in this topic about the Mig-29 it seems that it's realistically not there, but the Δh rotary in the cockpit does not move, so there is no way to know the elevation.
