People with scarce time can choose for themselves how they want to spend it. :smilewink: Your sarcasm makes me think that you do not understand why some people would need this so I will use and example to help you with it: Some people cannot train a lot to perform such complex manouvers as an AAR or a perfect CASE 1 recovery, which obviously require some (or a lot!) of practice. I am not even taking stick quality into account here... But still they know how to drop bombs because it is easy to do, still following me ? Imagine they want to fly a 3h mission every now and then, just to enjoy a long navigation (after all, a joy in DCS is to look out of the window and enjoy the marvellous landscape isn't it ?) and perform a strike on some targets. Well they can't if they are not able to AAR. It is just as simple as that.

The map looks GREAT ! It will be a wonderful place to set future missions and campaign ! Congratulation Ugra Media ! My only regret is that there is so little sea, which makes that aircraft carrier will be at maximum 40nm from the coast. But I will cope with it. :)

I also think such a feature would be nice. I do not understand all the people saying "Yeah also you can just practice 30min every day and eventually you will catch it". Some people can not spend 30min every now and then to learn to do it. Some people just fly casual missions with friends/family were each participant has different skill and hardware, some being able to AAR and others not. Therefore having such an "auto refuel" thing would enable the whole team to perform the same mission despite having different skill. Besides your ability to refuel is also related to the stick you have. I personnaly only have a very old stick with a small throttle axis. It has deadzones and low precision axis, and even if you can use curves to smooth it, their is no such thing to control speed. I have tried a lot to AAR with the Mirage but I feel really limited by my stick. Therefore, such an auto AAR would be a great ADDITION to DCS. From many reactions I have read, it seems some people feel threatened by it. Like "Ey I spent time to be able to AAR and now you make an auto AAR ? Did I spend time for nothing ?". If ED made this feature, it would be up to the server/mission planner to enable it or not, obviously.

Angle of Attack importance during and after landing.
MisterVince replied to -NMS- Ikaros's topic in M-2000
You can tick a box in the "special" tab to have it on your hud. However, I reckon IRL this is only a feature of the Mirage2000-5. -
I definitely agree with your message. And they do accept constructive criticism, which is great.

Showing some love IS important ! ED is doing a great job. They are constantly in touch with us, their community, seeking to improve their products and provide us the best simulation possible. Thank you Eagle Dynamics ! YOU make our dreams come true!

[NO IT IS A RAZBAM PROJECT]Is ED involved now in Harrier development?
MisterVince replied to amalahama's topic in AV-8B N/A
Yeah I would be great to benefit from the Supercarrier features with the Tarawa ! I look forward to it -
I look forward for the exact location as well ! Is Alexandretta in the North included ? Is Amann or Tel-Aviv in the South included ? From the screenshots it looks like it takes place in modern days Syria (at least before the destruction of Palmyra by ISIS I hope).

Hello I only read the first post, not the full discussion. I juste wanted to say that I find it great as it is. I certainly do not want to pay a monthly price to have access to all modules; it does not correspond to the use I make of DCS. I just give my opinion so that you can count it :). Stay safe .

I bought the AV-8B and Supercarrier, although I don't own the F-14 nor the F-18 yet. I am waiting for the Tomcat to be on sale now.

How much SSD does DCS require ?
MisterVince replied to MisterVince's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I prefer buying a laptop as i will indeed need it for portability. I was thinking of the Gigabyte Saber 15 (about 1300€): Intel Core i7-7700HQ Quad Core 2.8 GHz 16 Go DDR4 SSD 256 Go HDD 1 To Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 It seems to be the best i can find for this prices. Also the laptops from HP (Omen) seem good, but for an equivlent build i would have to pay an higher price. -
How much SSD does DCS require ?
MisterVince replied to MisterVince's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Alright I thank you all ! :) I will go for 256GB then ! -
Hello ! I consider buying a new laptop since my current one barely reaches the minimum requirement for DCS. I want a decent laptop for the upcoming DCS 2.5. :) I would like to install DCS on a SSD drive, but i need to be sure that this drive will be big enough. I have the NTTR map, and plan to buy the Strait of Hormuz map. Do you think that a 128GB SSD drive is big enough for DCS 2.5 + WINDOWS10 ? (DCS 2.5 with Caucasus, NTTR and Strait of Hormuz). Thanks all for your advice ! Happy flying !

In fact I did learn on the L-39? It was a great think to be familiarized with clickable cockpits with an easy one, not full of screens and buttons everywhere. After mastering the L-39, was able to switch to the Mirage2000 or MiG-21 without any problem. My gf is also currently learning how to pilot with the L-39, and she finds it very very funny, an simple. She can have fun with smoke pods, and take many screenshot, as the L-39 is a rather beautiful aircraft. It has nothing to do about "the manly A-10C. It is just that the A-10 cockpit looks a lot more scary than the L-39 in my opinion; I mean that it makes you feel like "if you want to be a good pilot, you will have to master every single button of that cockpit". One may have the same feeling about the L-39, the difference is that there are way less buttons and switches in the L-39. And yes the A-10 is easy to fly, as is the L-39 !

I agree 1000% on what you said. Ask yourself: would you learn how to drive in a brand new 4x4 which trigger sounds when you are too close from the car in front of you, turns lights on when it's dark, has a back camera to help you park your car etc... or a simple small car ? Between the A-10, and the L-39, it really this kind of deal. Wth the L-39 you can better feel that you are flying, not managing it. + with the L-39 you can do acrobatics, which is nice.

I tried to see if the problem came from SimpleRadio (as I already had some problems related to it, and I only use it and Tacview aside the original game). So I disabled every SRS file in the User/SaveGames/DCS/Scripts, but the problem still occurs, which make me think the problem is not related to SimpleRadio.

Thanks a lot everyone for sharing your experience :) You give me a lot of things to take into account before making any final decision, and I really appreciate it ! :)

Thanks a lot for your help Smil ! I really don't see what may cause this issue. It seems I will have to go along with this.

Sounds good ! Thanks :)

Yes Iam new (appart from IL2). I did not want to buy the Mustang because I already fly the TF-51, but I get your points and will consider it :) Thanks a lot for the advice guys !

Hi ! I would like to buy a warbird along with the Normandy map, but I really can't make a decision. I hesitate between the Fw 190, the Bf 109, and the Spitfire, which one would you advise me to buy and why ? Firstly I need to know something: is it possible to aim with German warbirds without a trackIR; is the gunsight visible from the centered cockpit view ? If not, asI don't use a trackIR, I would buy the Spitfire. I really like the Spitfire because it's a beautiful aircraft, ut I really like the energy combat style of German warbirds. If I would have to choose a German fighter, would you advise me the 109 et the 190, and why ? Thank you in advance :)

Alright ! Thanks a lot for telling me this ! So here is my problem: I can't see the messages, why is that so ? what could possibly be the origin of that problem ? (It is the reason why I originally posted this thread inside the bug section but it was moved here). I tried a clean up and a repair of my game, I looked into my settings but I don't see anything that could disable those messages. In fact I really don't see where this problem could come from, which makes me think it is a bug. Thanks a lot again for your help Sunstag, I really appreciate. I wish this thread could be moved again to the "released version bug & problem" section, which seems more appropriate.
