Problem with mission 1 landing pad
epolta replied to Sneethe's topic in Mi-8MTV2 Crew Part 1 Campaign
Well I just flew this mission today and sad to say the building issue is still broken. As soon as I landed on the roof the whole structure caught fire. I lifted off and re-attempted landing again after fire was out and then I sank part way into the building. The building is literally leaning like 45 degrees to the right so it's still broken. -
Copy. I guess that makes sense - Meta controls device firmware - which then interacts with VD software - to (hopefully) provide better overall experience. :)
-
So a Meta update impacts how well the headset works with virtual desktop? I thought the whole point of VD was to get out of the meta ecosystem?
-
Is that the only proposed fix? MSAA is terrible for shimmering and performance. Hopefully this can be fixed long term!

Mission 10, after latest update
epolta replied to kadorno's topic in DCS: F-16C The Gamblers Campaign
If you taxi right up to the fence and then just crawl through the opening, your wing tip missiles will glitch through the fence without issue. you have to be going very, very slow -
Flew this mission tonight and confirmed all 3 SA-6s killed (confirmed in TGP)with three harms fired (wingman fired 2 and I fired 1). So mathematically I must have hit mine, but yet in debrief said I missed my SA-6. Don’t have tacview running to see exactly what happened but it sounds like might be a bug?

For those of you that strive to get your physical devices in the same physical space and aligned properly between in game VR visualization and physical space - this bracket might be right for you. The default WinWing Bracket that mounts the ICP in front of the F18 UFC/HUD places it too low to be in the "proper" space. I worked with Dimitar to develop this bracket that solves the issue! When the ICP is not in use, it folds completely out of the way!

On Discord they indicated if you taxi super slow the wingtips will hit…but “glitch” through the fence without sustaining damage..worth a try.

Yep! I think I might be able to find an alternate taxi route, but have no idea what AI wing men are going to do so hesitant to even try

Mission 11 scoring bug (Spoiler alert)
epolta replied to Grodin's topic in F-16C Weasels over Syria Campaign
Flew this tonight…as others have commented bug hit my DMPI but both targets were still counted as destroyed..hit the burner, dropped my tanks after SAMs shut down and extended East per the recommendation from the pop up text… AWACs called merged so I did a defensive turn to the west just in time for bug to call tally MiG-29 Syrian markings. 2 seconds later they had missiles in the air against me - I dispensed countermeasure and died 2 seconds later… The pacing of this engagement feels wrong - they shouldn’t be able to get this close and be within their WEZ so quickly- honestly next time I play I’ll just stay in burner and extend - turning in with them that close and literally no SA is suicidal -
Flew tonight and maintained a steady 72 FPS throughout the mission much more enjoyable. DCS seems to be working better with the update!

How to set up toggle switches (a tutorial)
epolta replied to Spy Guy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hello all, I'm trying to implement a "toggle" pushbutton for the F-16 Ejection seat arming lever similar to the hornet, whereby each press of the button toggles between armed and unarmed. Here is the working F-18 hornet Lua code: { down = iCommandSeatArmHandle, cockpit_device_id = devices.CPT_MECHANICS, value_down = 0.0, name = _('Ejection Seat SAFE/ARMED Handle - SAFE/ARMED'), category = {_('Ejection Seat')}}, I'm unable to find the "iCommand" equivalent for the viper. Here's what I do have for the Viper - which only arms or disarms the seat - but not with the use of a pushbutton. {cockpit_device_id = devices.CPT_MECH, down = cpt_commands.EjectionSafetyLever, value_down = 0, name = _('Ejection Safety Lever - LOCKED'), category = {_('Systems'), _('Custom')}}, {cockpit_device_id = devices.CPT_MECH, down = cpt_commands.EjectionSafetyLever, value_down = 1, name = _('Ejection Safety Lever - ARMED'), category = {_('Systems'), _('Custom')}}, Any advice on how I can mimic this switch with the F-16? I've searched the clickable cockpit data etc for the "iCommand" in the F16 Viper with no luck. thanks!
