    😂😂😂😂😂

of all the days to choose. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤔🤔🤔

honestly cannot wait for this release.

  2. Hi all, I completed my pc upgrade yesterday, and went from a

    Corsair Crystal 570X RGB Case, Intel Core i7 8700k, Asus ROG Maximus X HERO Z370, Corsair Hydro H150i PRO RGB, 1000W Corsair HX1000 Platinum, 1 x Gigabyte 3090, 4 x8G CorVenRGBPRO DDR4 3200 ( 32gb ), 6 x 120 Corsair LL120 RGB PWM Fan, 1 x Crucial P3 Plus 4TB PCIe NVMe M.2 2280 SSD, 1 x SAMSUNG 1TB 970 EVO M.2, 2x 4TB WD WD Black 3.5 HDD, 1 x Asus STRIX SOAR 7.1 Sound

    To a Nzrt H9 elite Case, Intel Core I9 14900k, Asus ROG Maximus HERO Z790, Corsair Hydro H150 LCD XT, 1000W Corsair HX1000 Platinum, 1 x Gigabyte 3090, 2 x48G Corsair Vengence  DDR5 5200 ( 96gb ), 10 x 120 Corsair LL120 RGB PWM Fan, 1 x Crucial P3 Plus 4TB PCIe NVMe M.2 2280 SSD, 1 x SAMSUNG 1TB 970 EVO M.2, and  2x 4TB WD WD Black 3.5 HDD.

Used the old 3090 to keep me going until the new 5 series GPUs turn up.   No point getting a 4090 at the mo, when they are so close to release.

Full fresh install of windows 11 Pro, all windows updates done, All motherboard drivers done, Latest Nvidia Graphics Driver installed and windows Display driver.

She boots up fine and runs well, apart from one MAJOR issue.    I cannot for the life of me get my Samsung 4K 55” tv to get a signal on DisplayPort or even HDMI.    I’ve tried factory resetting tv, uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics and display drivers several times, I’ve testing the GPU with my secondary 1080p monitor on hdmi and it works fine, also used every single port combination on my GPU and TV I can think off with zero luck.

Been trying to trouble shoot this for over 5 hrs now and I’m at a complete loss, short of throwing it out the window, and picking up that Odyssey G9 that has been calling to me for months, however the wife WOULD kill me if I did that 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

The screeen IS showing up in Nvidia control panel and display menu, although as a generic monitor ( Samsung ) restricted to 1080p, and I can select it as primary but just can’t get an output.    Strangely enough if I remove all cables and disconnect the TV from the pc, that Samsung monitor still shows, so maybe a false positive.    I’ve tried deleting it, and redetecting it but the problem still continues.

I know others use 4k tvs in their sim builds,   Has anyone else come across this and have a solution, because I’m pulling my hair out.

I do have a new DisplayPort cable on the way to me, in case it’s the cable that’s crashed and burned, although if that was the case I would expect it to work on hdmi at least.

on bright side, the new PC looks stunning. 😂😂

  3. Hi guys, just in process of building a new pc, quick question.   Does this still require a 2nd dedicated sound card for the jetseat?

Thinking of mounting my GPU vertical in the new build, and obviously that will block any other ports including the space for the sound card.

So if I can get away without needing it then that would be great.   Nothing is ever plugged into the back on the the thing anyway as jetseat uses USB, so I’ve never been sure if the program has been using it or not anyway.

  4. Am I right in assuming that this is for BOTH versions of the game and it merges them all into 1.    Can’t see a merge mentioned in the notes.    Also if that’s the case, what stuff is NEW for those previously using Open Beta, and which of the updates are for those previously using Stable?

Most likely the motors are worn out and sticky. They can be easily replaced though. When you are planing on scraping the Jetseat anyway, you may as well open it and try to repair it.

The actual "electronics" inside the seat it very basic and unlikely to break. The motors are just simple small DC electric motors with a imbalance attached to them.

You’ve never seen my DIY skills have you. 😂😂😂.  But to be fair, you’re right I have nothing to loose at the mo.   Will still need replacement tips though, because the chances of this ever working again once I open it up are minimal at best. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

  6. Hi guys, I’ve had the jetseat now since Andre first put them up for sale, many years ago.   No idea how long, but it seems like I’ve had it for ever, and don’t get me wrong it’s the best addition I ever made to my cockpit.

However it’s now playing up the vast majority of the time, and although it’s recognised by the simshakers for aviation software, fails to react to it and turn on the motors these days more often than not.

Quite often it takes multiple attempts and reboots to get the darn thing to work, and when it does it’s very very soft.   Long gone are the days of having my body shake when firing the A10.

Anyway, with the current political issues and the trouble of purchasing another Jetseat, I’m after recommendations on what I can replace it with.     Do I go back to Buttkicker, which I do have 2 up in the loft, although my wife hated them as she could hear it downstairs while I was simming, or would the HT8 I think it is, work just as well.      Or do I just wait until Andre can sell the jetseat again easily?

Would love to get the tactic feedback back in my seat while flying.

@baltic_dragon you're welcome. I hope you enjoyed my sarcasm as much as I assume you enjoyed taking my money in exchange for a broken product.

I'm not sure what makes you think I will get a new version of your broken product with with an engine update. You said the same thing to other people in this thread...

...but we've had a "patch" since then and your product is still NOT fixed

Well, maybe you should un-mark this thread as fixed. Because the issue is NOT fixed. Why not instead wait until "after the next patch" to ensure the issue is fixed before marking this thread as fixed?

Or, if you have such an issue keeping your products working maybe you should just remove them from the marketplace altogether. I mean, because as it stands, you are knowingly selling a broken product to people which is not exactly ethical. But hey, do whatever you want... obviously.

Is this your first time using DCS, campaigns are extremely complicated and sometimes new features such as the radio upgrade that we got a few months ago will break things.

Its been confirmed above that it’s a bug, that it has been fixed INTERNALLY and is in the pipe to be released with the next patch, and Baltic has even provided a link above to show that the issue is fixed with a mission that you can use until the patch is dropped which is upto Eagle Dynamics, Baltic has Zero I put when it comes to which patch his fixes are included in.    BUT he’s also stated very clearly a work around that we can all use to keep flying the campaign until this is fixed.

We have issues like this across ALL campaigns and aircraft after most of not all patches, this is not restricted to Baltic, and honestly you’re moaning about one of the best, if not THE best campaign maker we have in this community.   He works tirelessly to solve these issues and keep on top of any bugs  that appear with each patch, but realistically there is NO way he can check each and every campaign mission and function of all his campaigns after each patch.

I would strongly advise you take a deep breath and just think about what a single mission in one of these campaigns requires in programming and triggers to get it to work, and then apologise to Baltic for the absolutely absurd accusations that you made above.

Is the stick suppose to require that much pressure to roll the jet. I have to push the stick to the point it wants to break free of my desk. I feel like I have to apply to much force to the stick to get the F-16 to do what I want it to do. Not sure if the settings out of the box arecorrect. I see in the simapppro software that there are setting I can change but nothing make all the big a diffrence. The F-16 rolls very slowly.  I’m just not strong enough to roll the aircraft like I was on my Virpil stick. Just curious if that how it’s supposed to be?

Sorry to reopen a thread from a while ago, however I’ve literally just received this stick, and I’m trying to dial it in.      I’m finding this exact issue @Checkmate, just wondering if you ever found a solution to it.

got it mounted to a Wheelstand pro and fully screwed down, BUT the pressure I’m having to put on it to roll is literally moving the entire Mount in it’s holding.    I’m guessing I’ve done something wrong in my setup. At least I’m hoping I have anyway.

  9. Hi guys, just trying to get this dialed in now it’s all setup.   I’ve tried Virus’s and Waxi’s settings and while pitch is great, I’m finding roll is rather slow, unless I put a LOT of force into the stick.    I’m surprised just how much force is needed with a MSFFB.    Is this correct?

obviously I’ve never used one before, and to be fair I’ve not flown the F16 since back in the falcon days so im a tad out of touch.

it’s it correct than happy days, im just surprised at the force needed to get her to do anything quickly

Simappro caused this issue well over 12 mths ago  It has since been resolved.

You only need to use Simappro for initial config, calibration and firmware updates. If you own the throttle/MIP and want to sync lights etc you'll need Simappro running

Thankyou for getting back to me.  That’s good news it’s been resolved on one hand, on another it must mean something else is tanking the framerates.

Although that said, I just turned it on after the latest patch, booted up a quick F16 instant mission and the fps was showing over 110 fps.   I’ve NEVER seen it that high before and that was before I changed anything.

was in single figures last week. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

hence hoping turning off sim app pro would help out the situation.

Fingers crossed when I boot up tomorrow my framerates are not in the weeds again.

  11. Hi all, i am struggling with getting some decent fps on my pc at the mo, and during my research ive come across several comments that seem to indicate that the SimApp Pro software can reduce your fps by 10 to 20 fps.   Now that is a decent drop and could actually be the difference of my pc running a mission or not.    So im thinking i might stop using it.

HOWEVER i have literally this morning ordered a orion base with MFSSB and the F16ex stick so i can swap my F18 pit across to an F16.  Now im wondering do the pressure sensors of the MFSSB require you to be running the SimApp Pro software at all times to work, OR once i calibrate it, can i then stop using the software?

i know i will loose synced lighting on the throttle base without it, but as im trying to move from 2d to VR that lighting is no longer really needed.

To achieve the 12° axis rotation, you could mount the base 12° rotated and then twist the grip so that it is straight before tightening the big nut fixing it to the base.

I am also using asymmetric forces based on the F-16 flight manual someone posted in this forum:

Here is my configuration and the thought process behind it:

    • Moveable area impact: 6%
      • The Orion 2 non-MFSSB has a maximum deflection of 17°.
      • The Orion 2 MFSSB limits the maximum deflection to 1°.
      • This means that the movable area of the MFSSB corresponds to about 6% = 1°/17° * 100% of the maximum deflection of a normal base.
      • Thus, I set the moveable area impact to 6%.
    • Maximum force settings for each axis: When set to 100%, the MFSSB Orion 2 base requires a maximum force of 6 kg. Scaling the reported maximum forces required on the real F-16 stick down to the maximum forces of the Orion 2 MFSSB results in the following settings. After some testing I decided to reduce the maximum force a bit to the values in parenthesis:
      • Pitch up: 100% (90%)
      • Pitch down: 64% (58%)
      • Roll left/right: 68% (58%)

    image.jpeg

Thankyou for these settings, As its been a few months are you happy with them and do they work well?    I have just purchased this base this morning with the current sale so am looking how to set it up and this post popped up.    Never used a force sensing stick before in my life so its all a little daunting, but have decided to try and learn the F16 in DCS, so figured i might as well setup my pit correctly.

The main takeaway im seeing is it takes a long time to setup correctly.   got an adjustable mounting solution, so putting on the angles to the stick should be no issue, its just dialing in the actual forces.

  13. Hi all, Thankyou very much for the advice, and sorry that it created some disagreement.

Certainly sounds like the upgrade will be the way forward, I will have a closer look at the specs, and take onboard the advice ref the memory speeds,, ref the MB, yes I know quite likely it’s overkill at the moment.    But I do like the 5 x m.2 slots however I will take a closer look at the MB Lucspec has mentioned above.   Thankyou Lucspec.

a massive Thankyou also to kksnowbear.   I really appreciate you taking the time to post such a detailed explanation.

  14. Hi all. I built my current pc back in 2018, and while it has been working fine, in 2D at 4k so long as there are NOT too many units around, it’s started to struggle somewhat after the graphical upgrades of the last few patches and VR is pretty much a stutter fest around anything happening on most maps.

Over the last 5 years since it was built, I’ve upgraded the GPU to a 3090 and stuck in a bigger faster 4TB M.2 for my sim drive and swapped from windows 10 to 11, but essentially the heart is the same one installed back in 2018.

    My current specs are

    Corsair Crystal 570X RGB Case

    Intel Core i7 8700K s1151 Coff

Asus ROG Maximus X HERO Z370

    Corsair Hydro H150i PRO RGB

    1000W Corsair HX1000 Platinum

    1 x Gigabyte 3090

    4 x 8GB Corsair Vengence DDR4 3200 ( 32gb )

    6 x 120 Corsair LL120 RGB PWM Fan

    1 x Crucial P3 Plus 4TB PCIe NVMe M.2 2280 SSD ( Sim drive )

    1 x SAMSUNG 1TB 970 EVO M.2 ( operating system )

    2x 4TB WD WD Black 3.5 HDD ( backup drives )

    1 x Asus STRIX SOAR 7.1 Sound ( for jetseat )

    Windows 11 Home

I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth just upgrading the heart of the pc, CPU, MB and Memory, (£1500 ) or just cut my losses and bite the bullet by doing a full new build.

The upgrade specs I’m looking at are

    Intel Core i9 14900K

    ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO

    64 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5

    Corsair H100i ELITE

My goal is to be able to run DCS and MSFS at a minimum 75fps at max settings in both 2D 4K and VR using the Quest 3.    Looking around it certainly appears that a lot of you with specs similar to the upgrade are managing that, and I want a piece of that.

Very keen to try VR again now the quest 3 is out with the clearer screens , but obviously I want it to run smooth while using reflected simulations campaigns, which sadly turn into a slide show the moment I get jumped by the enemy.

MSFS at the mo runs between 35 and 50fps at 4k on ultra settings depending on where I am in the world, BUT I am getting a LOT of micro stuttering and occasionally it does dip to singe digits if landing in a high graphical area.   ( flytampas Las Vegas for instance )

DCS sits around the 50 to 60 fps range with nothing going on, down to single digits when running campaigns with lots going on.

    any advice greatly appreciated.

  15. Hi all, I hope everyone is enjoying 2.9.     I’ve just been wandering about on the net, and I’ve come across a FFB joystick base called the VP Rhino, it appears to be a one man band and only available via their discord site and it does appear there is quite a waiting list.

I’ve seen a number of videos on YouTube showing the base off with DCS, and it appears to be natively supported with effects that as a Helo pilot I could only dream off.  Proper force trim, rotor vortex, airflow etc.

However and this is in no way a slight of those who have put the videos out there, but I haven’t seen anything from the our mainstream flightsim content creators about it, and I’m struggling to find and real reviews.

So as the few videos about it, do tend to show off DCS, I figured I would ask you guys direct, whether anyone here actually has one or uses it?

if so, is it worth the €800 to order, is it plug and play, would you recommend it etc?

As stated I mainly fly Helos, but I do enjoy fast jets from time to time, and I adore my ww2 warbirds.

oh yes regarding fast jets, just curious.    Would it be possible to simulate the F16 base on it, I.e. very very minimum movement from centre?

Currently I have a WarBRD base, and while it’s working fine, if there is a good FFB base available instead to allow me to use proper force trim, then all the better.

hoping for some reply’s, it certainly looks promising indeed.

I'm a bit confused. I have Normandy 1944 - when I go to the store for Normandy 2 it says "you already have a serial number for this product" 🤨

Yep, just a bug. We all got it.

if you ignore and proceed you can still get her.

only issue seems to be if you’re on steam and then it appears it may not be downloading correctly.

but they are working on a solution.

  17. There’s only one word to describe this map.

    WOW.

I was expecting it to be good, but still it’s blown me away, from London, to Paris it’s incredible.  Although Odiham is missing rather a LOT of buildings.    ( only know as I lived there most my life )

Just spent the last 2 hrs exploring low and slow in the Gazelle, and I’ve honestly walked away just in awe at what you’ve achieved.   Next will be a Mossie trip low level with the land being suitable decked out in its defences.

pat yourselves on the back folks, because you guys certainly deserve it.

the only way it could be better, is if ED can find a way to get the Channel map to play nicely with yours to give us the entire south and north coasts of UK and France.

    Well done, to everyone involved.

It‘s not a bug. You guys haven’t read the FAQ properly. Normandy 1.0 is history. Normandy was upgraded to 2.0 by the patch. The folks who haven’t bought the new map will see the new areas like London and Paris in lower detail. Which is probably what you are looking at now.

Yes but these are guys who HAVE bought 2.0

    thats the confusion
