I am learning the P-51D at a very basic level, trying to master landings and takeoffs. Now I just saw that the Spitfire went on sale today and I wanted to ask you people if it would be a good idea to purchase now the Spitfire for half the price, or if it is so similar to the P-51D that it wouldn't add anything new to my learning process. I just don't want to regret later if I miss the opportunity to get it now that it is on sale. Thanks in advance!

Thank you razo+3 but my question s rather how do I get to that low speed before reaching runway? It is supposed to be a final approach and mission starts at speed 200+...I don't know how to lower it in such a short run; if on this mission I wait until I get 160 to lower ggear and flaps I overrun the runway. Decreasing throttle is not working for me either.

Still struggling with landings! Trying the P-51 mission "Final Approach Lochini" I've noticed that its very hard for me to lower speed before runway threshold. Even I need to lower landing gears and flaps over 200 knt to be able to reach threshold around 200. I've been able to land a few times but always with bouncing. (If I wait until speed is about 90 to flare, I am almost at the end of runway). Since I know I am missing something or doing something wrong I wanted to know if you guys could tell me how to get a lower speed on the final approach. I try to keep thrust around 25, if I do less than that I stall before reaching the runway. And what really puzzles me is that I need to lower gears and flaps at over 200 knots, when I've read that one must do that at 170 or 165. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the links, however I am really confused about not getting any instructions after I enter the first gate. Since these lessons are for people that want to learn, I just wanted to make sure if something is missing on mine. Why I don't get further instructions after I enter the first gate? Someone that has followed this lesson can confirm that there are no instructions on the whole landing path (when there are a lot before reaching the airport)?

Hello everyone, I am following the training lessons for the P-51D and I don't know if I am doing it wrong...I follow exactly the instructions, then I enter the first gate and that is the last time I hear instructor's voice. I go through all the other gates until I am over the runway ready to touch down but I don't receive input on anything else (like when to lower landing gear or apply flaps). I've been struggling with landings with a very low success rate...the last time I hear instructions is when I am told to taxi and park on an empty space. Then I don't get anything else like "this concludes landing lesson" or anything. I want to finish my training lessons in order to get access to the Challenge Mission, but this lesson seems to be the reason why I cannot complete my training. Can anyone here give me some hints or tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

In about 3 or 4 missions and quickstarts my plane is totally skinless...just a shiny silver color. Is this normal? I remember the first time I looked into these missions it had the default skin. Any ideas?

You did! Without your help I wouldn't have been able to do the Updater.exe commands, it was very nice of you showing me that help page. By the way, the repair took me back to 1.5.5 from 1.5.6 I was so frustrated for not being able to fly my new P-51D, now I will enjoy the training lessons and missions. Solved! I did a repair of DCS World and it worked, whoa! Thank you very much for your help Picksking.

What is the safest way to uninstall it? Should I uninstall it by using the regular windows uninstall through Control Panel, or there is a way more specific to this DCS program so I can reinstall it safely and with less downloading time?

I do not have another installation of DCS, the only change I've made was to update it to 1.5.6 from 1.5.5. I will try a reinstall of the whole DCS, thanks again for the suggestion!

Sadly it didn't work for me. I followed the instructions to uninstall it, deactivated Avast, reinstalled the P-51 but still, whatever I select to do, starts with the Map, F1 won't work, F2 and F4 let me see the plane in flight but cannot control it with keyboard or joystick. I appreciate very much your input PicksKing since I learned how to uninstall the modules however it didn't work for me...have you or anyone else any ideas of what else to try? Thanks.

That could be Picksking but it only happens with the P-51D. I have never uninstalled and reinstalled a module. Should I then uninstall only the P-51? And how it is done? Thanks.

I just purchased the P-51D and installed it with module manager. I can see the airplane and missions and everything but there are 2 big problems: when I start whatever (Free flight, mission, etc) it starts on map, F1 won't do a thing. I can see the plane flying with F2 or F4 but it won't respond to any command or input from Joystick or even from keyboard. I have it in sim mode and I checked the options and all commands and axis show as they should. I don't have this issue with the TF-51 or any other plane, it is weird but only happens with my new P-51D. Can anyone please give me a clue on this? Thanks in advance.

Lol i found the problem...I needed to make it for the P-51D instead (which I don't own) then change it to the tf-51D...thanks again for your help Cichlidfan!

Problem is I've been looking at the editor and I cannot find how to delerte current aircraft and add a new one...sorry but could you tell me how to? Thanks

Hello! I would like to know if its possible to fly a different airplane airplane on a mission using mission editor...for instance, a landing mission for the f-15c to be changed to a TF-51 landing. Thank you !

Hello everybody! I am a newbe to DCS and there is a minor issue that puzzles me. Is there a way, when I am in game, to switch momentarily to my desktop (Windows 10) so I can check emails and other stuff like game guides without be forced to exit game?
