Hello, I have so many missions downloaded in a folder. Does this mean you have to download them again? Thank you for your work!
Hey Raiden!
I am talking about training flights now, not about the quick missions (which I suppose you are talking about):
If they worked, no. If you had problems creating the log file on the desktop: yes. -
Update:
2024-04-07, 15:20 UTC
All training flights have been modified.
Under Windows 11 the output of the log file was inhibited due to a missing Desktop folder in the Windows user profile folder.
The new logic reverts to the Windows user profile folder in case the Desktop folder is missing.
Thanks Discord user Tungsten for reporting!Have fun guys!

I have recently been wondering if I should get the Razbam AV-8b or F-15E or maybe the F16C. I have been unable to decide, so could anyone give some suggestions and explain why? I would also be interested if anyone could expand on my current understanding of real life uses of the aircraft my current understanding is:
Harrier - CAS and air interdiction.
Strike Eagle - Strike missions (like the Tornado), offensive counter air
F16C - SEAD/DEAD, perhaps air to air (but I assume F15s, f22s would perform the majority when conditions allow)
I should probably also mention that I have a t.16000m, so keybinds might also be a factor. I would probably be inclined to choose the Harrier (it can do naval ops, hover, take off from FARPS, can perform naval ops, can be used in a wide variety of air-ground roles, and is unique), but it lacks a radar, and can’t perform BVR. The f15e can actually self-escort itself, however, is quite a bit more complicated to me (main reason), and lacks link 16 which leads to bad SA (according to others) especially when the radar gets really cluttered. I also don't really like how the radar is displayed (too many green lines. It seems difficult to find targets when they are also a green icon, judging by other videos, compared to say an f16 which has a nice clear display that also isn't monochrome), but the f15e has a TFR radar, can perform BVR well etc. (I like using etc.). The f16…I don’t know. I seem to have lost quite a bit of my enthusiasm for some reason. It would still be something I would be interested in though.
Hello Haz0052!
Regarding your equipment:
I have T.16000 throttle & stick too (on my lower spec rig), and I fly the F-16 here and there.
Basically, it works for me, there are enough coolie hats on stick & throttle to make CMS, DMS, TMS and even TRIM to work.
But I would suggest you to simply try out the F-16, go for a basic introduction with a buddy of yours who is - hopefully - familiar with that plane, and THEN decide.
If you have only the stick, I suggest to buy the additional throttle, its not too expensive IMHO. -
Try a human opponent, and it may become (more or less) equally balanced ...

T-shirt arrived, thank you Heatblur team for making this possible!

Works for me now too.
Thanks guys! -

What I see is that you use the QFE for waypoint 2, which is at 289 ft elevation, whereas the units are located at an elevation of 166 ft.
So the difference is 120 feet which is ~35 meters, but this seems not the real problem here. What I noticed is the following:
- Once the aircraft is near or even below the weapon safety height (in this mission it is set to MEDIUM), it doesn't work too well
- If above the safety altitude, everything seems fine
- It also makes a difference if a dive angle or level flight is flown (bombs would then fall shorter)
For such type of attack I would prefer DYK though.

I really do something differently. Watched that track many times and flied same mission. Still, often when I unsafe trigger, the sight will drop below HUD so I just cannot see range indicators. So level bombing is much ruthless for approach as I really don't see what I do differently when I got sight successfully compared to when it drops immediately down.
Plane's pitch? Is there limit like +/-1 degree?
Hey Usagi!
I cannot say there is a bug with that, but I can't say there is no bug, and I can't say it is a problem related to wrong pitch or something.
I think it makes sense to dig a bit deeper, therefore:
Can you create a video of your situation, or better a short TRK? Simply save the TRK after exiting the mission, and upload it here.
I would take the time and test this a bit more intense ... -
page 234:
I consider this information as bullshid, right?
IMHO it must read " Doppler system setting LAND / SJÖ (Land / Sea)" instead of "Radar altimetersetting LAND / SJÖ (Land / Sea)"Radar altimeter has two receiver antennas on the fuselage, where the Doppler system has its single antennae (but with 3 lobes) on the lower right wing.

I tried to fly the 450 meters above ground (which I understand as "healthy" distance from ground).
I put the HUD down though, and when the symbology moved down after trigger unsafe, I had in VR no problems to see the range indicators becoming narrow for the moment to pull and hold the trigger. After pulling the trigger, the HUD symbology is easily visible and centered on the HUD.As said, the problem for me was to have the correct "weapon safety height" visible (so I estimated it), because when spawning hot this is not working.

I did a quick flight, using LOW DRAG bombs in mode BOMB PLAN.
It works, see track.But @MYSE1234:
What doesn't work is, that the commanded altitude is in fact not commanded.
This is a bug, and exists since a very long time IIRC.
This bug can only be worked around when switching the weapon selector to IR-RB and then back to BOMB PLAN.
It seems to only appear when spawning hot in air.MT; SP; Mission editor, single unit on map, Caucasus, spawn hot in air.
-
Are you using high or low drag bombs?
In any case, please provide a track or video of your flight ... -
Hi Usagi!
What was your altitude and what was the QFE set correctly for that location? -
OB 2.9.3.
This I get when looking to the WEST in Port Stanley. The spikes have to do with where I am looking to.
Unplayable ATM, I will leave this map out for the time being.- 1

I managed to run the mission, but without Viggen. IMHO, the crash is related solely to the Viggen.
Reading the logfile, it might have to do with the amount of targets and the update of the data-cardridges target list, but I am not an expert in understanding DCS log files and it might be related to something else.
Thus, I'll forward this to the Heatblur team, including my logs and the TRK.
@MYSE1234 Can you please check this one out, maybe its a (known) bug, thanks!- 1

It crashes my DCS as well, about 12 to 15 minutes after starting it.
I did not took off with any aircraft, just watched the show.
Next test: I will remove the Viggen from the mission and replace it with the Su25, and watch again.- 1

Was it one of the:
a) "INSTANT ACTION" missions, or
b) "TRAINING" missions, or
c) "CREATE FAST MISSION", or
d) Did you create one with the mission editor ?
Depending on this, the mission file is located on different places on your disc.If you know the name of the mission, you can do a file search with the windows search function.
Without the mission file (.miz) its hard to check whats going on... -
I love how good the flare was visible. Would be great to have that in VR too ... old story.
Isn't that an exciting machine?

Did everything you listed, but no chance. Small CAS mission, 10 Minutes in, CTD
Hey Raphomet!
Can you send the mission file, or simply post it here in this thread? I am going to take a look later on ... -
Not necessary, I am going to try it this afternoon. Thank you!
