  1. Thanks guys! Will be helpful! Summarizing what I have learned is to prevent myself from getting into a distance battle with a Su-27 of F-15. Better mask my presence and try to close in. @myHelljumper I am very curious for the details of your tactics ;)
  2. Hi all, I have read some stuff about the Mirage on this forum and my question is if the Mirage stands any chance against a Russian or American modern fighter (SU-27, Mig-29 or F-15) in an engagement and if it does, what tactics are favourable to use then?
  3. Same here. It's great to fly the Viggen. It's my first clickable cockpit and the best choice I could have made!
  4. I have flown the mission twice. The first time I was shot down. The second time I made it. I don't know exactly why, but 3 km befor the target waypoint I went higher to be able to see the target better. When I saw it I dived down. Maybe the Shilka has more problems to aim at you then cause you don't fly straight to it but with some of a curve.
  5. Thanks! I will.
  6. Thanks for all the advise. Have ordered a new system: Intel Core i7-7700 (3,6 GHz), 16 GB of ram, a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB), 240 GB SSD & 1 TB harddisk. I also got 2 second-hand displays for free today, so I am looking forward to get my PC next week!
  7. Thanks for the input! I can't save more money for a better cpu because I need a new PC fast! ;) My laptop has some issues playing DCS (stuttering, freezing etc.). And because I love the sim I want a new one as fast as possible. Besides that we are planning to buy a new home so my financials are critic atm. ;)
  8. I have a question: I have a laptop with the following specs: Intel Core I7 6700HQ@2,6Ghz, 8 GB of ram and a Geforce GTX 960m with 2 GB of ram and no SSD. I experience some performance problems with this system in DCS. So I am thinking about buying a desktop with the following specs: Intel Core i5-7400 (3,0 GHz), 16 GB of ram, a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (3GB), 256 GB SSD & 1 TB harddisk. Can I expect a significant performance improvement with this new system when flying the Viggen in DCS?
  9. Thanks for the answers! Maybe I should get myself a better configuration then ;)
  10. I run WLAN.
  11. Hi people, I have some problems with multiplayer. I fly the Viggen (with much pleasure btw) normally in single player. While sometimes I experience some stutter it works quite well. In multiplayer I get freeze ups, error notices and server time outs. So I can't do multiplayer at the moment. Now I have read somewhere that it could be caused by the specs of my system. I have a laptop with Intel Core I7 6700HQ@2,6Ghz, 8 GB of ram and a Geforce GTX 960m with 2 GB of ram and no SSD. Could my system be the problem or should I search for the problems elsewhere? Thanks in advance!
  12. I think I heard something about it isn't animated yet. I don't know if Heatblur is planning to implement it in an update.
  13. That's what happened. Throttle was indeed unresponsive. Think I touched a wrong key on my keyboard Then I clicked on the high pressure valve. After that the engine stopped.
  14. My throttle didn't react anymore. I tried to click on it, then it went to off. I couldn't do anything else than just glide and crash ;) Second sortie I managed to keep the Viggen up for a time. After that I crashed by flying to low. Normally I fly F-15. That aircraft seems to be a little bit more forgiving in doing that than the Viggen. The latter seems to descend faster ;) Thanks for the help btw, will PM you soon. I can use all the help I think. I's complex enough.
  15. Thanks guys for all of the advise!!! Helped me a lot. I made the decision to buy the Viggen. Have made my first takeoff ...... and crashed soon after that ;) Thrust went gone. No compressor stall I think but just noobish flying ;)
  16. Thanks guys! @Mattebubben: thanks for the offer! Will remember that when I am stuck with the Viggen ;) I have another question btw: I don't have rudder pedals with toebreaks. Is this necessary?
  17. Thanks for all the answers! It helps me a lot. A multirole fighter should be my favorite, but I found out that the emphasize of the aircraft in DCS is either on A2G or A2A. So I think I have to choose and after what I have read in your answers, A2G will have my preference. I understand that the Mirage is more of an A2A aircraft, so I think the Viggen or A-10C will be the aircraft of my choice. I like the ground radar and the kind of weapons of the Viggen and the laser guided bombing of the A-10C. It's a hard choice ;) @ Home Fries: I have HOTAS, but not the warthog (X56).
  18. Hi, I am Sven and I am new here at this forum and have a question. I couldn't find a good place to post this question so I put it in here. I have flown flaming cliffs for some time now and flew Lomac in the early days. Have had much pleasure with it. But now I want to fly an aircraft with clickable cockpit. I know those kind of aircraft are much more complex to fly. At this moment I still can't choose between the Mirage 2000C, the A-10C and the Viggen. Important for me is which one of the three is the least complex to fly with, cause I think I will have a hard time to master such complex airplanes. Or: which one is the best to start with. Thanks in advance!
