  1. £50- 60 ($90) is what I would spend for a colour manual. With or without english labels. Anything more and it really would be the same price to print my own. Just not as convenient. I already have a B&W copy so I was really hoping on a colour version. There is no substitute for having a manual on your lap unless your name is Kim Peek. Anyway hope it happens. Thanks ED staff for considering it....
  2. 100 % for colour. Perhaps a limited quantity or on a special order basis. Thanks
  3. Fair enough. I suppose I'm not really thinking of modern mil helicopters or BS for that matter. It's not exactly something I would regard as essential for general simming either. An aspect of the controls which would come fairly naturally if confronted with them. Not taking things like power management into account. Anyway well done.
  4. Thanks again for your replies and links. I am really looking forward to flying online. With no confirmed release I am trying to put BS to one side of my mind. Since I dont know how far the finishing line is I dont want to run out of steam. I will see what happens over the next few weeks and lord willing I can start ground school with some of you soon. Thanks
  5. Hi The mod for the cougar is very good. Which makes for a much better cyclic than the original config. For the collective. A lot of people reverse the axis on the throttle to better mimic a colloctive. I suppose that would be the case with urze's too. Nordic. Your collective looks great. Very similar to the one I had commissioned. Will post some pictures perhaps. I get by with my f16 simpeds but your pedals do not too shabby at all sir. Bit out of my homepit abilities. Urze. Your mod is very smart looking. I've seen this on HC. I'm not sure if the Saitek has antenna dials on the throttle but have you considered making a twist throttle using those or something? In any case it is almost worth sacrificing the twist grip for all those buttons. Just realised what you've used for the switch head aswell. very cool. Will be recommending this to people. Cheers Troy
  6. On MS flight sim when using Fsinn server module you can assign frequencies to TS and change comms via the sim. This is handy because you don't need to minimise the sim, which is even less practical in helicopters. Perhaps DCS could support this. PS TS also has command channels which are a must for large exercises. Even with these you have to keep down the banter. Mato, Squadron leaders, pilots, atc and ops commanders all trying to talk over each other can get a bit much
  7. Hi Thank you gents. I should have mentioned that I'm in England but I've never had any problems flying US time before. Will have a good think about it whilst we all wait for release. many thanks
  8. Hello to you all I registered with the site this morning but I have been watching the forums for years. How I held off so long who knows. I have been flying with a FS9 based VA for 5 years and have only devoted a fraction of my time to LOMAC in the past. Now that there is a rotary simulator in sight though, particularly of this calibre that is something I will be looking to change. Now that BS appears to be on the verge of release I am preparing myself like many I'm sure for some long nights curled up with the 550 page manual and a steady flow of caffeine. I do not cringe at the thought of this rather I try to relish the experience and look forward to the moment where it all clicks. However, once I feel comfortable with the sim I will be looking to fly online with a Mil VA. So to my question(s). Where should I be looking for a serious organisation that might offer me a place in a rotary squadron? Are there already groups formed in anticipation of the release? If so can I apply now? Rather than going through all of the training offline would it be possible to get online from day one and train with serious individuals without the fear of being engaged every 5 mins? Thankyou in advance for any comments or pointers. Troy
