I started flight simming many years ago. I think my first flight sim was US Navy Fighters (back in the 90's). Based on current today standards, that would be considered arcadish. I started out with a basic joystick that had two buttons. I progressed through many flight sims and joysticks until I landed upon Falcon 4 and the Thrustmaster F22 hotas. I thought this was pure nirvana! Through the progression of many sims and joysticks, I eventually landed upon Lomac and the CH Products gear. I also used the Thrustmaster Cougar hotas. I walked away from flight simming thinking I would revisit it if there were substantial changes that would draw me back in. I was currently using TrackIR and multiple monitors. Many years later, I saw a post on DCS forums by dburne. I don't know who dburne is, but it really resonated within my being. In the dburne post, it really praised VR and said you have to see it to believe it. For some reason, I had 100% belief in his post. That is when my turmoil began on when to try flight simming again. I do software development, and I tend to favor Mac OS since it makes it easy to do testing on iOS as well as Android. With the MacOS, I can run the iOS simulator as well as Android. I wanted to try VR so badly, but my Windows machine (1070 graphics card) was marginal at best for running VR. For a long period of time, I wanted to upgrade my Windows computer to a better machine so that I could try flight simming again. I finally went for the upgrade to a Windows machine that could run VR (3070 Ti graphics card). The first time I ran DCS on the new machine blew my mind! I sat in the cockpit of an A-10C for 10 minutes enjoying the view. It completely BLEW my mind. I knew at that instant in time, VR was the future. Thanks to dburne for your posts! VR is the single best improvement to flight simming!!

Are you talking about the frame rates for the A10C or Black Shark? As for the A10C, my best frame rates in the A10C training missions is the navigation mission in which I'm in the air away from everything and my frame rates is in the 30's. I felt like that meant I would get poor rates when flying multiplayer or near a lot of action?

Quick question...does Black Shark 2 get better framerates than A10C in DCS World? When the original Black Shark first came out, I don't remember having performance problems. With A10C, my frame rates are in the low teens while just sitting on the runway. There is no way I can fly it. I would consider the Black Shark 2 if my performance would be better. Does anyone know? Thanks.

rabbit102 Did you try the "Payments" tab instead of "download"?

I use Firefox and had no problems with it.

@nomdeplume You are exactly right. I added a "1" to my login name and now it shows my serial number when I click on "downloads". This information should be added to a FAQ somewhere. Thanks for the info!

I guess my account is having problems. When I go to the "Payments" tab, the only thing I get is a white screen with the sentence "No information or you have not bought any product yet." I bought A10C when the very first Beta was released. Can anyone from DCS tell me if there is a problem with their system? Did anyone else have this problem?

I bought DCS as soon as the first Beta was available, and I got a serial number. Now when I login on the home page of DCS, there is no serial number anywhere. When I bought LockOn and BlackShark, the serial number would show when clicking on some button...maybe the download button? I can't remember how to get the serial number and I searched the forums. Will someone point me in the right direction...thanks!

You are right...as soon as I set the Tacan to TR, the beeping pattern begins. The volume does control the beeps. Thanks!

Wow, I am surprised nobody has heard it. I will have to make a track. Here is exactly what I do... I created a simple mission that is ready for takeoff from Batumi runway. These are the exact things I do.... Input Tacan of 16x and set to TR Input ILS of 110.15 and turn on power Set VHF radio to 131.00 Set course knob on HSI to 307 and takeoff When I'm at 140 kn I gently leave the runway and immediately raise the gears and flaps. That is when I hear the rapid beeps. After those beeps (which are loud and annoying) I do a steady climb to 2000 ft and begin a nice level flight. That is when I keep hearing this pattern again beep pause beep beep beep wait 1-2 seconds beep pause beep beep wait about 3 seconds and then keep repeating this pattern of beeps. I was in a nice level flight. I will make a track. I know it is not anywhere near a stall or high angle of attack.

I have searched the forum for "Beeps" and can't find my answer. When I take off in the A-10C, it constantly replays beeps. Usually, it is like beep, pause, beep, beep, beep beep, pause, beep, beep and then it does it over and over again. What are these for?

I found the solution just in case anybody else ever encounters this problem. You MUST put it in the "My Documents" folder inside a folder called "TouchPal". As soon as I did this, it works! Thanks luckybob for the heads-up.

The installation just says to extract the folder to any location. I tried it in different locations, but no luck. I tried on 4 computers...3 had Windows 7 and 1 had Vista. Each computer has totally different hardware. I have a touchbuddy profile that works, but it would be really nice to have TouchPal. It is the holy grail for me.

No responses at all? I've tried TouchPal on 4 different computers and it doesn't run at all. Am I overlooking something little? According to the directions, all you do is extract the folder with TouchPal 0.4 and run the .exe file. It must be more to it than that, because I tried it on 4 computers and get the same "TouchPal has stopped working".

I set up everything as explained, and the ABRIS and shkval show up like they are supposed to when I start Blackshark. It looks nice! However, I can't get the program itself (TouchPal 0.4) to work with Windows 7. I tried the different compatibility modes, but no luck. I did a search and it came up with 3 very long threads. Does anyone have it working with Windows 7? It immediately comes up and says "has stopped working". I really hope to get this working because it looks very nice.

If you click the specifications tab, it says the memory standard is DDR2-800.

I had the same problem as you. I tested it in Windows and the motion seemed fine...however it wouldn't work in BS. I then downloaded the latest TIR build and installed it. Everything worked great after that.

Did you hit "Esc" and then "Control"?
