So, tomorrow they are coming back to Spangdahlem in Germany, where they are based again since Febuary. Many Germans find it hilarious that it is officially prohibited to dance in this country on this friday, called "Karfreitag" (Good Friday), because it is a Christian religious holiday, but foreign military war planes are allowed to fly and conduct missions to support NATO pressure and propaganda against our russian friends. Same counts for the stunning "Dragoon Ride" they dragged through our streets, occupying the barracks they were based in once. Imagine the Russians doing the same, occupying the bases they lived in, in East Germany, in the 90s. We would have WWIII already. Crazy. Gives me headaches.

Thank you for your reply. Well, what is triggering the freeze is DCS updater's incompatibility with the antivirus solution (or otherwise round). I am reporting, so this bug can be checked and maybe forwarded to the AV developers by DCS developers. I thought driver incompatibilities are solved this way too, aren't they? I had reported this behaviour to the Bitdefender support but as expected, got no response yet. Do you have any other solution for my problem, except switching to another security suite?

3 days left before I have to uninstall DCS. Security goes first and one never doubts security for issues.

If it's the firewall, it should block a connection, give out a warning and log it. Same counts for antivirus. Neither of them has logged a blocked access to a file or prevented access to internet. I wouldn't assume it's that. And a firewall isn't intended to be turned off for "special actions" though. Would render the whole thing useless.

It starts bugging me. Everytime the updater wants to update itself, when an update is available, it "initializes" and then freezes the whole computer, forcing me to reset the PC. After the reboot, the updater shows an error message, telling me it is not compatible with the windows version anymore. I have to downlad the updater itself from http://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ and manually installing the file, so that I am able to start DCS again. This bug showed several dozen time an it is really annoying, so any effort to solve this problem is highly appreciated. I don't want to see big data loss occur on my harddrive because of all the resets. I am using Win 7 64 with all updated and patches and as security solution I'm using Bitdefender Total Security 2015.

Ha :D Never noticed it in real life anyway, maybe because most airshows I attend are oldtimer airshow without jets. Saw a MiG-15 once in the Netherlands though, but too far away from parking slot.

When spooling down the MiG-15 engine, you will notice an annoying sound, like someone has left a tool withing the engine. :huh: I would like to know what causes that noise. I bet it's another awesome detail, Belsimtek has put into this module :)

Turn on the axis display with Strg Right + Enter. I had the same troubles and have experienced that I never had the thrust lever full back. In the settings I had a dead zone applied to the thrust axis, both to 96% I deleted that and put it all back to hundred and voila, I was now able to move the thrust lever fully back and the engine cranked then by pushing the start button. I got to that fault by watching the autostart process. At a time the thrust lever turned back just a litte bit before craking so I knew I had an input error here in my manual process.

After a while, I started the Cold Start training mission of the Ka-50 module again, and found it strange that the standard livery was from US Army. As it is a Russian attack helicopter, it should be a russian livery. Don't you think? Who agrees? Will you switch that back in future, or do I have to do that manual, and if yes, how? Ah, that's the ones on their hunt for Red October. I only wondered why UK has requested P-3C Orions from the US Navy instead one of the 8 P-3C Orion from the German Navy close by.
