Sorry, maybe I get this completely wrong, but doesn`t alignment only means that you SET the aircraft on exact place in the world? You actually do NOT change anything with doing an alignment to waypoints. And why would you do the alignment for the waypoint 2, which is not you current waypoint (you are still standing still on the take-off airport)? You should supose to do the alignment for your actually current position. Only that way you and your aircraft will know exact position. All else means you will only do the off-sets from your current position?

    Am I right, or not?

For a cold start, waypoint 00 will not show your current position. It simulates the last known position of the aircraft when INS was switched off after a previous flight, and that your aircraft was then moved to another parking for example.

So you have to enter your current position (the one given in the kneeboard)before you can start your alignment. But, as waypoint 00 can't be edited, you have to use any of the other waypoint (01 to 20) to enter your current position and then start the alignment.

Exception: if you have enabled fast alignment in the options, then waypoint 00 will display your current position and you can use it too start alignment (normal or fast) without entering any coordinates.

  2. +1, excellent update and future seems even brigther with all systems rework planned.

This along with the great job by ED on the release, makes 2.7 a huge step in the right direction.

    Bravo Razbam !

Yes my dear friend, i do the alignment like you said and from the HSI i solved the problem, but from the ADI i still cannot uncage it. It was just a switch to put on the mid position on the right panel below the hydraulic pump on the PCN and the Audio Warning but now i can not do anything.

You have to click and scroll on the uncage swith on backup ADI.

  4. Yeah, go in mission editor, open missions created for other modules (f16 for example) and replace the f-16 by a Mirage. Adapt a bit the mission to match mirage capacity and there you go.

Can be done with quick missions and missions from every module you own.

I also have edited some to make them playable in MP within my squadron. Quick and effective

  5. Ok, just looked at your screenshot, and you're are carrying S530 with your gbu. You can't mix ordnance on the Mirage as fire computer can't handle it. You can have magics + 1 other type of weapon.

Try with gbu only without S530, should work better 😉

  6. You need to set:

    • CP/PD (will be set automatically for landing waypoints), CP being the TRUE heading of the runway, and PD set to 3.0
    • ILS frequency
    • QFE (given by AI tower but you'll have to convert it in hPa )

following thread will help with QFE and CP

    Hello.

So this bug is confirmed but the fix did not make it for the 14th update, it will be in the update after that.

Here is a hotfix in the meantime HUD_page_2.lua

You need to replace the existing file in the Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Cockpit\VTH folder. Make a backup before to be safe.

This hotfix creates issue on VTH when going in attack mode with Mk82 (CCPL), kind of getting several symbols displayed together, see attached pic. Release cue won't appear also. But you can designate and release bombs. Works fine with defaut .lua file.

Haven't tried with other CCPL AG ordnance.

    note: i don't use mods

ok can anyone point me to a good tutorial for the ALCM alignment? Ill check out chucks guide too..

    Thanks guys

With option enabled and waypoint 00 selected as PREP:

    Select ALCM

    Click VAL on PCN

Wait for alignment (1mn30), "Pret" light will get steady on PCN

    Select NAV

    Done

  9. there's a new option (that has replaced the old one) to enable in the special option to allow ALCM on waypoint 00. If not enabled, you'll have to do a full alignment.

ALCM has to be performed with this option enabled, you can't start anymore without any alignment

EDIT: from the 2.7 update sticky post

The “INS is always aligned” checkbox in the special option menu of the mirage have been replaced by a “Fast alignment (ALCM) ready” checkbox. With it checked, you will now need to do at minimum an ALCM before moving the aircraft for your INS to work and you can start the ALN or ALCM on the BUT 00 as the aircraft did not move since the last time it was stopped.

So it's not supposed to help you intercept a radial? In that case, it sounds like it's a useless feature. Which would be surprising.

Yes it does, and it will help you doing so. But it seems that right now, as you described, it might struggle a bit to do so if your initial interception course is way off. It might need to be fine tuned.

Try it with a slight deviation from the radial, to see it working properly. Then increase the deviation.

The Approach auto-pilot needs INS information to guide the aircraft on the landing as it follows the HUD ILS director which uses the CP/PD info from the INS.

Does it mean that when doing an ILS approach without any waypoint set on the runway, only ILS director lines on ADI can be used, and that HUD ILS director lines will only be available if waypoint is set on the runway and CP/PD info entered in PCN?

  12. Waypoint 00 give your current position (anytime in the flight, will be updated while you are flying) and can't be edited anymore (as IRL). It's not fixed coordinate of your start point.

For alignment, select any Waypoint from 01 to 20 in PREP, update coordinates with coordinates of your starting position you'll find in the kneeboard. Then launch alignment as before 2.7.

  13. Has been here for a while (for ever maybe 🙂 ) :

Preset 18 for UHF radio is set to 251.00 Mhz by default, same as Preset 1.

As there are no preset for 252.00 Mhz by default, i guess Preset 18 should have been set by default to 252.00 Mhz instead of 251.00 Mhz

Not a big deal, but if this small "issue" could be corrected on a future update, that would be great. Then we wouldn't have to change it in Mission Editor.

    Thanks

  14. I was initially just asking TG to share a roadmap for 2021 if they have one to share 🙂

Could be simple like "we'll be focusing on data gathering, 3D modeling, and working on the FM" for example.

It's a shame we haven't heard about TG since Christmas 2020, but i guess they have nothing new to share yet.

  15. Since a couple updates ago, 'P' keeps on blinking on VTB and never becomes steady when radar is warming up.

It should blink while radar is warming up and becomes steady once radar is warmed up (as least it was the previous behavior and it's the behavior described in the manual).

I guess you don't need a track file showing a 'P' blinking for more than 3 minutes 🙂
