  1. John, looking at your picture your "bus tranciever" to the max chip is that something you have custom built or is that a pcb that is readily available somewhere. I love this idea and for the price of nanos it is an amazing solution. This is making me want to dive in head first in to the deep deep world of dcs bios even more Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
  2. question for you guys, i just built the master caution test circuit and can get it to work fine in the release build but i can not get it to work in the open beta build. both (and 1 at a time) of the save folders for release and open beta have the dcs bios folder in them. is there something i missed to get it to work in the open beta. Thanks
  3. Awesome, I was planning on messaging you regarding this after someone have mentioned you had a solution. Thank you for sharing. I am a rookie when it comes to coding so you may be able to shed more light on this but would it be possible to code so that when no plane is loaded it acts as a default joystick? 4. Thanks techross, I just went through his entire build thread. I may have to talk to him and look in to that. Quick question for you experts, will a mega be able to power a single led off of usb power or do I need an external power supply??? Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
  5. Wow, I just read through this entire thread and am currently picking my jaw up of the floor, amazing work man, this is pit goals for sure. The amount of work you are putting into this is truly awe inspiring. I can't wait to see an assembled pit made once you get all of these out together and operating. Keep the build log style posts going. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
  6. Don't know if this helps, but this is how I made my stick removable in my combination flying/racing rig. Visualize what I was explaining. There is a 1/4 bolt on the other side to punch it into place Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
  7. It looks like your rig is made of wood, an I correct? Do you have any metal working ability? If you could put a piece of square tubing under your seat, you could build 2 mounts, one for the hog, one for the collective and swapping would be a matter of sliding them in and out of the tube, a nut with a hand knob could hold it Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
  8. Yeah, it was suggested somewhere else to look into coding multiple sketches that could be swapped with a physical switch in my pit, dcs bios if switch is in position a, generic joystick sketch of switch is in position b. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
  9. Where did you get the panels laser cut and engraved??? Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
  10. Hey guys quick question about the functionality of dcs bios, as I am in the planning stages of building a UFC. As someone who flies multiple games and multiple planes within dcs are the inputs able to be used in other games/modules not supported by dcs bios libraries??? Can it also be mapped as a regular controller? If not I may build the UFC using a dsd or bodnar board and use dcs bios for the outputs. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
  11. ok i guess ill have to look again, the only screens i could find witht he model number you posted were replacement tablet screens that would have had to be wired up. HDM is a way better option (also check your pms)
  12. Andrew, would you be so kind to share your wiring on how you managed to get the tablet screen running on an arduino? Thanks
  13. Derek Speare has some great boards, no matrix so wiring is super simple. and as a bonus he also flys DCS http://derekspearedesigns.com/32-button-no-matrix-controller.html
  14. Awesome... that is it, that is exactly what i was looking for, thank you, it also made the cockpit look so much better, got rid of the zoom issue i was wondering about as well. Thanks
  15. i did a quick search but cant seem to find it. is there a way to change the angle that DCS displays the side monitors at? with my setup i have an almost 180deg FOV i would like DCS to out put something similar to try and increase the immersion if possible. also is there a way to change the "zoom level" i find that with teh screens this large and this close even at all the way zoomed out it seems to be too close/large. (3X40") Thanks in advance guys let me know if you cant see the image and i will try to repost
  16. You don't happen to have a link to one do You??? I have looked everywhere and can't seem to find one
  17. Sniper that is the plan. What I am looking for is to take care of the matrixing so I don't have to build the matrix myself.
  18. Hey guys im going to tag into this thread rather than start another that is pretty much the same thing. I am looking into building my own button box, throttle quadrant. I already have a simple button box that I built using a DSD no matrix controller. which works great for buttons and switches. What I am wanting to build next will have analog axis on it to use for rads, fuel mix, and trims my insipiration. I know the bodnar board is capable of 8 axis and is exactly what I want. (8 axis, and several buttons.) and he does have the breakout matrix board available too which would greatly simplify the wiring. but once I do the conversion and include shipping it does get into a fairly pricey range. (close to $60 CAD before shipping) what I am wondering is if any of you have better Google skills than I do and can find a shield/interface board for an arduino or teensy that would do the same thing. Similar to what this guy did but with the extra 2 axis available? (this setup only has 6) http://www.simpits.o...?p=392#more-392 thanks in advance guys.
