Great looking prints bulka, looks awesome Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Would any of the more experienced modelers be willing to try tackling a minor modification to the orginal file for me? I was hoping that I would be able to learn fusion enough to allow me to modify the square buttons to allow me to try and use mechanical keyboard switches. Unfortunately I found out even that is far over my head and current skill level. I can provide exact measurements of the switches if someone is willing to help a guy out. Seriously guys, he has said that he will likely release the stls when they are ready, he is putting an immense amount of work into this, the time and effort alone just on the initial models let alone any post print adjustments that he is making would easily push into the multiple thousands of dollars if anyone were to hire it out. Let's all show him the respect that he deserves and quit asking for him to hand it over for free. I have watched this thread since the start of this project and envied his work because I know that my design/3d modeling abilities will never even come close to this. If he decides to release the STL files I will forever appreciate it. If he makes the choice to keep them to himself then I will respect that. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

You sir are a hero among men!!!! Great work!!!! Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Is there a reason you are using a combination of the 3862s and the dlg2416 and not just one or the other??? Just wondering? Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

My engineering approach to a Hornet pit build project
NightShiftNinja replied to Alex_rcpilot's topic in Home Cockpits
Awesome design alex... look forward to seeing this project move forward. And probably borrowing some of your ideas. I love the idea of something easily removable as I switch between racing and flight sims fairly regularly. I lack the design and engineering experience you have but my end goal is to have a something similar which has a single usb plug, a couple hdmi plugs and a power plug on the back or side with everything else enclosed inside. 2x 2416 10x ltp 3862g 2x ltp 587g Does that sound correct?? Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Not sure if this helps anyone but it looks like I have found some hdlg 2416 chips for a little of $7 each.... https://www.components-mart.com/product/Avago-Technologies(Broadcom-Limited)/HDLG-2416.html I'm going to look at putting in an order right now. Edit, I just put in a request for a quote, I will let you guys know what kind of response I get from them. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Looks awesome bulka, that was a long term goal for me was to have displays like that. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

I just ordered a set of mechanical keyboard keys and key caps with the intention of seeing if they will fit (hopefully with only minor modifications.) They should provide a satisfying tactile feel, were quite cheap (a set of 70 was less than $30) and if it works should be fairly easy to have custom key caps printed with the correct lettering. I will keep you guys informed Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Looks amazing as usual john!!!! Cant wait to see the finished project fully assembled. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Very cool project blu, that is what my end goal looks like for my UFC. Love the functional displays. For interest sake how many of the DLG2416's did you end up using to fill out all of the displays?? I will have to sit down at my PC and dig a little deeper into your githib when I am not on mobile and trying to be a dad at the same time. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Thank you john, you are a hero to this section of the forums!!! Please let us know if there is anyway that we can compensate you for the time and effort you've put into your design work! Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Gladman you may not be able to find an exact 5 position one, but push button rotary encoders can be found easily and pretty cheap, https://www.mpja.com/mobile/Rotary-Encoder-with-Pushbutton-Switch/productinfo/30403%20SW/ Here's one for $2 didnt look too deep into how many positions it has or how much rotation each step would be Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

If this will fit into Bruns UFC it looks awesome. Would you be able to share a link of what screens those are and where you got them from Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Damn..... those look like exactly what I would want.... but I dont know if I can justify the $400+ Canadian for the 20 of them... If only I was substantially better at 3d modeling... I have an idea that I think would using mechanical keyboard switches. And there are enough custom keyboard companies out there that could probably make the switch covers to look like the real thing but I dont think I could redesign the model well enough to make it work. I would live to find switches like that that are illuminated. Provide back lighting for the UFC. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

That board looks pretty cool, i am not familiar with it, but if the prosim software allows you to change the current going to each led then there is no need for the resistors... can't wait to see the further progress Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Looks awesome.... rather than a new led just grab a few resistors of different values and put one in the circuit and it will dim the led down for ya. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

TM MFD's and Lilliput 8" USB LCD Monitors
NightShiftNinja replied to Evader's topic in Home Cockpits
Looks awesome, how well are the usb screens recognized by windows? Or are they hdmi and usb powered? Also would you mind sharing a link to the screens your using. One thing that I can speak from experience works extremely well in MDF is threaded inserts, drill a hole, put a little wood glue and then use a machine screw to attach screens and mfds to the MDF, then you are not worried about stripping the screws out of the wood. They can be found on Amazon or banggood for cheap. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk -
You will need the actual wiring diagram for that switch, unless the pins are labeled, The common will go to the ground pin on the bodnar board (red line on your diagram.) The other indivual position outputs (black lines) will each need to be wired to an input pin on the bodnar. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Would you care to share the updated file with deeper text? Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Looks awesome, which collective are you using? Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Sounds good, enjoy your vacation, if you do not want to mass produce I will try to figure out how to build this myself. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

John, if you ever do decide to get them mass made, count me in for at least a handful. Name the price and I'll gladly pay. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
