Gents, I am looking to get some recommendations for a decent computer to run a server for our squadron. I was thinking a i7-7700, 64G 2400 RAM, a couple of SSDs and a low end video card. I have seen some talk about using a Xeon processor, but is it truly needed for DCS? We will use the server for a couple of missions online with maybe 10 people online at the same time at the most and also use it to run SRS and also our squadron website. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I've never tackled this before and want to get something that will be future proof for the next 10 years or so. I also have a X299 Dark with a 7820X and 64 G of ram I could use, but after doing some research that feels like overkill for a server for just DCS? Thanks! Panic

Has anyone else experienced a issue when locking a target and when the cursor moves off the target the lock drops? I experience this most in RWS but have also seemed to experience it in TWS. Doesn't seem to happen all the time though, and is hard to figure out exactly what might be causing it.

So in the software I would not see the spike. It was only in the sim. I did another test flight the other day and I couldn't duplicate the issue. I will keep an eye on it. I didn't set the offset because it seems to be working normal now. I will keep an eye on it and let you know if it changes. Thanks for the help!!

Yeah it appears it only happens in game and I have not been able to duplicate it in any calibration or axis screen. Not sure what software issue though.

It goes to center exactly. The controls and stick just zeroize, even though I am holding back stick pressure. I can still roll the airplane as well during this. The only way to reset it is to release back stick pressure and then it will resume. It's like the computer cannot detect the controller when it's all the way back or all the way forward.

All, I have a fairly recent problem that I haven't seen before and I can't seem to figure out what is causing the issue. When I pull back all the way on the stick the controller is no longer recognized and the in game control centers. So when dogfighting for example and I pull everything I have to the stop, all of sudden the airplane will level and not give any pull input. When I look down at the virtual stick it is now centered. Obviously once I let go and pull again the control will regain control. It seems it only happens at the stops of the vertical axis. It does it when I push all the way forward as well. I have made sure the firmware was up to date and even ran another calibration. The stick does not do the same behaviour in the calibration screen, or the windows controller screen where you see the plus symbol along the axis. It appears it only happens in game. Any ideas? Thanks! I am using the FA-18 TM stick with an extension on a Virpil VPC WarBRD base.

Thanks man! I also am having a problem with the game freezing up when I start and Instant Action and sometimes when I close a mission. DCS isn't necessarily crashing, but it just freezes and I have to go to task manager to close it. I've ran repair and clean and also set my page file based on my system. Any ideas?

Not sure if anyone here is having the same issue, but in 2.5.6 the window that pops up to show that your target is taking damage is now on the right side of the plane and is no longer transparent. That's not necessarily the problem if that is normal now, but after the plane is gone that menu stays up on the screen and I can't remove it. Is this a known issue, I've been searching for something and can't find anything on it? Thanks!

EDIT: Ran the repair and also did the fix with the saved games folder and that still didn't fix it. It literally is just that one screen when you start a mission. I feel like it's something simple I just can't figure it out. I've also tried setting different resolutions and that didn't help either.

What log do you need exactly? The game isn't crashing either, it's running just fine. I just don't see that screen when I start a mission. Is there a display file that I can delete and then restart the game that will be re created like some other folders? Thanks! I'll give that repair a shot.

Hello, I am hoping someone can help me! So I updated to 2.5.6 but had some major problems so I reverted back to 2.5.5.41962. Now when I select Instant Action or even when I load a mission from the editor when I get into the cockpit, the screen that is normally present there is now gone. It's the one that has "Fly" on it. Or in the mission editor it's the screen that usually allows you to select a client plane. That's gone for some reason. I have ran the repair on DCS and it didn't fix it. In the Instant Action it's fine because I can hit escape and then resume and it will let me fly, but any mission where you need to select your aircraft to fly won't work because if you hit escape there is no option to select slot. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks! Panic

Gents, So I am using Voiceattack with DCS for awhile now. I've also had the Viper since release and everything was working prior, now I can't seem to use the current setup. The problem is when I key the mic (either UHF or VHF) I do not see the box around the UHF or VHF letters on the DED indicating that I am transmitting. I have the buttons mapped correctly in the controllers page for UHF and VHF. I can even confirm in the LCtrl - Lalt - C menu in viacom that when I key UHF and VHF they both light up there. I also see that when I request "intent to refuel" for example the game hears the command and I see it as text on the screen, but the tanker never replies. The only way to fix is to hit the RAlt - \ key to bring up the menu then select it. Does anyone know why I wouldn't be seeing the UHF or VHF box in the DED when I transmit? I think that is the issue, I just don't know how to fix it! Thanks Panic
